Finalmente, llegamos a Redescubriendo Talentos.

Before discussing this breaking news, we did our little tour through the UK Official Singles Chart and Spotify’s #newmusicfriday playlist (4:54). Now, back to the XFL, will it finally succeed with its new owner, the one and only Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? We chatted about the deal itself plus why this could be a great deal for American football fans (9:39). Thereafter, since a lot is happening with video games, we have decided to summarize and debate a bit about some of the most buzzed topics, including mobile games (21:26). For our movie recommendation, Lilia went back to her beloved romantic comedies and watched Banana Split and Gui finally watched, after 27 years, Jurassic Park (1993) (40:26). SHAME ON GUI! Finally, we arrived at our artist segment. We were super pumped to chat about the American rock band called Misterwives and their wonderful and beautifully-crafted latest album SUPERBLOOM (49:09) – @misterwives (Instagram & Twitter)

A special week for the podcast as we recorded our 25th episode in Spanish. Coincidentally, [and thankfully], there were some changes in the UK Official Singles Chart, and a lot of new music was released last Friday (1:53). Back to our geeky roots, we spoke about the 2020 virtual edition of San Diego Comic-Con, and we were sad we didn’t get to see the cosplay competition (5:29). Shifting our attention to social media, we finally talked about Twitter on this podcast and discussed its latest financial reports (17:46). Lastly, we chatted about Instagram Reels, Mark Zuckerberg’s latest attempt to compete against TikTok (29:35). Because we were celebrating this milestone in La Campana’s Spanish version, we went full Latin in our show recommendation and watched Netflix’s Street Food: Latin America (40:28). DON’T WATCH IT IF YOU’RE HUNGRY! For our artist, we stayed in Latin America and gave the spotlight to Cali Y El Dandee, the brother duo responsible for singing, producing and writing many danceable and romantic hits from the past decade (50:57) – @calidandee (Instagram & Twitter)

After 16 episodes, we finally had an episode where our current news revolve around the so-called “streaming wars.” Before jumping into that, we paid our weekly visit to the UK Official Singles Chart and Spotify’s #newmusicfriday playlist (1:31). Kicking things off in this streaming episode, we spoke about Peacock, the latest player (for now) to arrive in this race (5:02). If Peacock is the newbie, our second segment is all about the leader and king of streaming, Netflix, and its reported Q2 earnings (17:44). Finally, we returned to chat about Quibi, but now focusing on its results following the end of its 90-day free trial (29:09). Since nothing really exciting came out last week, we went back for some classics of the 21st century and talked about Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and David Fincher’s Zodiac (39:00). Closing this week’s episode, if you like Latin American folklore music with a jazzy vibe, you’ll enjoy the sound of Mexico’s Silvana Estrada (49:57) – @silvanaestradab (Instagram & Twitter)

This week, we dug into sports, but we did have one music segment. As usual, we headed to the UK for our Official Singles Chart’s weekly updates to after going through #newmusicfriday releases and our recommendations (1:46). Kicking things off, we covered the latest announcement by the French streaming platform Deezer and its new partnership with Salinas Group (Mexico) (5:30). Shifting gears, putting our helmets on, and turning on the engines, we talked about the return of the Formula 1 in its back-to-back events in Austria (16:41). Lastly, we traveled to Abu Dhabi to discuss the mega promoted UFC 251 that took place on Dana White’s Fight Island (30:43). For our recommendations this week, we both watched movies. Lilia went to Hulu to check Andy Samberg’s Palm Springs and Gui stayed at Netflix for the anticipated action film The Old Guard (41:00). Our featured artist of the week is My Morning Jacket, a 12-year-old band from Louisville that doesn’t shy away from mixing different genres in its sound (51:20) – @mymorningjacket (Instagram & Twitter)

If you like music and wanted music news, this episode is for you. For starters, we took our horse to the old UK road to check what’s popping in the latest Official Singles Chart’s update and flew back to Spotify for #newmusicfriday recommendations (1:49). Also in the streaming lane, we moved to Twitch to talk about how it has helped musicians reach out to their audience during this pandemic (17:30). Finally, and of course, we had to join the club, we went over Hamilton that premiered this past weekend on Disney+ (27:14).
