徳化県の県令・張は、悪いことをして集めた金銀財宝と共に、都へ帰るところだった。

その道中、下男どもが食事の準備をしていると、黄色い服を着た男がどこからともなく現れ、席についた。

下男は追い出そうとしたが、けっして席を離れない。

やがて、食事の時間かと現れた張は、その黄色な男を面白がり、酒や肉、餅などを与えた。

そして、その黄色な男の正体を聞くと……

Zhang, the prefect of Dehua County, was on his way back to the capital with the gold, silver and treasure he had collected through his evil deeds.

On the way, while his servants were preparing a meal, a man in yellow appeared out of nowhere and took a seat.

The servants tried to get rid of him, but he never left his seat.

The yellow-robed man appeared to be amused, and gave him some wine, meat, and rice cakes.

When asked who the yellow man was, he replied:
