昔、越後国松の片田舎に、お父さんお母さんと娘の三人で暮らしてる家族がいました。

ある日、お父さんは遠い京の都へ上ることになりました。

お母さんと娘は何日も何日もお父さんを待ちました。

やがて、お父さんは帰ってきて、娘には人形とおもちゃを、お母さんには手鏡をお土産に渡しました。

Once upon a time, there was a family living in the countryside of Echigo-Kunimatsu with a father, mother, and daughter.

One day, the father decided to go to the distant capital of Kyoto.

The mother and daughter waited for the father for days and days.

When he finally returned, he gave the daughter a doll and a toy, and the mother a hand mirror as a souvenir.
