Daddy School

I liked the story line of this series, but I'm having trouble with the endings of both this one and the previous one.

In both books, it sort of just ends. There are situations that need to be finished. Ex: both John and Molly just rush out of the daycare and no mention of who's going to take care of Michael. Also, in both books they say "I love you" and it ends. It was an emotional let down with none of their issues really settled. I just feel each book needs a little more. Both books #1 and #2 need and epilogue to bring the books to a better emotional conclusion...at least for the reader. I was really into each story and then suddenly felt like I was left hanging.

It was alright. a little mediocre but tolerable. I didn't like the character, Molly. She was stupidly over reactive. I guess there are similar women out there. I'm just glad I don't associate with any I hope the next installment is as good as the first.

Love These Books - Recommend As Stand Alone/Series

Would you listen to Father Christmas again? Why?

John is a local police detective and father to two-year-old Michael. After Michael's nanny is called away for a family emergency, John is desperate to find a good caregiver, right now.

Molly is one of the head honchos at the local daycare. She is at the front desk when this tall, overbearing, cold looking man enters your daycare and she glimpses the gun under his jacket. They make arrangements for Michael to answer the day care program immediately. However, she has reservations about this ultra serious man.

Will he be able to let his guard down? Will she be able to make this super responsible, down to earth guy smile just a bit?

My only quibble with this great book is the hyper phobia issue of guns. He is a trained professional whose job requires him to carry a firearm. The freaking out by almost every character was a bit over-the-top.

An excellent installment in the Daddy School series. I wish this series had a different name as Daddy School sounds a bit juvenile and the books are anything but. They are well-written, contemporary romances. Each can be read as alone and are enjoyable as a series.

I really hope that Judith Arnold continues with this series on audio and that Tom Dheere continues to narrate.

Dheere is an excellent performer, versatile and believable.

Does't Work.....for me, at least...

I admit that Book 1 was strong enough to keep me on the line and buy Book 2 in the series....but this is where I make my exit.

To make it through a series, and keep interest in developments and all the details that are necessary...its important to make at least one of the major characters LIKABLE. In the Epicurean series Cat is too stupid to believe. And "William" doesn't have any redeeming characteristics at all. He's flat, one-sided, too simplistic. What is there does not encourage sympathy, empathy, or any other -pathy. Sorry...can't make it through. Uncle.

Love to hate it.

I really liked A Taste Of You, but some of Cats' eccentricities drove me crazy in this book. By this point the relationship was developed enough for her to stop second (third, fourth...) guessing everything William does. She seems to have no concept of what is required of a major business person. She gets mad when he has to go to work; just because she sets her own schedule doesn't mean he can. These immaturities drove me to somewhat dislike the story line. I'm on the fence about whether this one is worth a credit (the first book was), but I'm not quite dissuaded from going on to book three - hopefully there will be some emotional growth on Cats' part. The narration was wonderful; both female and male voices were believable, accents were good and nothing distracted from the story.

If you like repetitive hysterics, self deprecation, immature insecurity, and repeated drama, then you will love this book. I mildly enjoyed the first book and had hopes that the second book would be better and enough to occupy me for a cross-country drive. It didn't take long for me to realize that the storylinere is just one episode of immature drama after another.

Sweet romance with a mystery

Where does All a Heart Needs rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

So far, this is one of the better audiobooks I've listened to.

What other book might you compare All a Heart Needs to and why?

I would compare this to the Lucky Harbor series by Susan Mallery. This is a contemporary romance that you can read as a standalone. There were interesting characters and the feel that family is more than just a blood relative.

What does Sandy Rustin bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

I liked that Sandy Rustin changed her voice between narrating for Sean and Jessica. She brought out the emotions of the characters and the situation.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could have listened in one sitting since I wanted to know how the mystery aspect would be resolved.

Great book if you can get past the self-hate

If you can accept that a woman is prone to suffer from low self esteem after getting emotionally kicked to the curb and the manifestations of said self-esteem aren't a pet peeve of yours to read about, this is a great book. Unfortunately, I know a lot of people would be turned off from this book for that alone because it can be frustrating to watch someone sabotage their happiness due to low self-esteem. It wasn't unbearable and because it wasn't without cause, I didn't mind it. Instead, I was happy to read about some very intense sexual encounters, the breakdown of walls, and the happily ever after that was long overdue.

Love A Good Rock Star Book

Okay, so I mostly loved this book, but at times, I was so frustrated with Mia. I get that she has some past issues causing her distrust of men. But geez...several times I thought, enough already! I mean, there is being broken and stubborn, but then there is being annoyingly irrational. Her waffling about her relationship with AJ is totally understandable given her past. I totally got it, but then as the story builds to a specific point, I thought, this chick is CRAZY! I just couldn't understand why AJ would want to put up with someone like her or why everyone was accusing him of messing up. In my opinion, he totally did not mess up. Mia is just a hot mess!

I think AJ is wonderful. I enjoyed him in Music of the Heart, and I loved him even more in this book. He has the biggest heart and is so patient. However, thank goodness he has his limits and knows how to put his foot down. He also isn't afraid to fight for what he wants. He is so fun and full of life, and knows how to live in the moment and just enjoy it. Through him, Mia learns how to let go a bit and do the same. He made this story for me.

I was really excited to be able to read more about the whole crew. It felt like catching up with old friends. Katie Ashley created wonderful characters in the 1st book and they continued into this one. It was great to see more of Jake and Abby, who I just adore.

Horrible

I couldn't finish this book. The main character is an idiot and sadly there was a lot of repetitive descriptions. I tried to go back to listen but just couldn't finish.

Not good

I rarely write bad reviews, but this one has so many annoying qualities, from the female narrator sounding like a 15 year old girl and mispronouncing so many words, really did she pay attention in English class at all? The heroine was so whiny, weak and fearful I just wanted her to go away. I truly don't get the high reviews on this one. Don't waste your credit or money.

CAM!

Ok... so glad Cam got his own book... YES! Now the first book in this series with Lucian is just horrible...so skip it... But the books with Ian and Francesca are pretty darn good.. In book 3, Ian finds out about Cam, his brother from another mother... (same daddy)... but Cam is like this cave man, recluse living underground... but Ian gets a whole of him and makes him all Ian like... But guess what... CAM is a genius of sorts.. He invented this watch thing, he is like a doctor... so now in this book Cam in the States with Ian and that's where this story begins. You kinda have to read/listen to Books 2 and 3 to understand this book.

Great follow-up.... I love how Cam was still Cam... crazy, wolf-like and Ian like all rolled up in a fruit roll-up! Great Great!!

Both Kam and Linn were great. The chemistry between them was explosive.

Brianna was the perfect narrator, she changed voices between each character wonderfully.

Wow, I really don't know if America is ready for it and all its scenes. I enjoyed them but my mind is more open than others.

Gina Maxwell does it AGAIN!!! Irish Kat!

I've been a huge fan of Gina's ever since her first book in this series, Seducing Cinderella and she certainly didn't let me down here. Meet Aiden "Irish" O'Brien....A fighter that's been off the grid for a while due to tragedy he blames himself for. He's traveled down to sweltering Alabaster, Louisiana for one reason.. Kat MacGregor. She's the sister of one of his good friends fiancé (Vanessa &Jax from Rules of Entanglement) Jax & Vanessa have been desperately looking for Kat. Vanessa's sister has been on the run in hiding. Jax found her and wants Irish to head down to keep an eye on her. Jax plans on making sure Kat is safe and return back home to Boston. But of course things don't always work out as planned. Once Irish & Kate laid eyes on each other the attraction is immediate their chemistry is undeniable. Both of them have their pasts and their demons, but they come together first as Irish helping Kat with her problems but as the story progresses there is more to their relationship, these two characters come together and help each other get past the demons & heal. A MOVING & COMPELLING LOVE STORY

What a great surprise this emotional and enjoyable book was as GLM is a new author to me but I thought I'd take a chance and I'm sooo glad I did as it drew me. kept me enthralled and delivered everything I was looking for... loveable H/H with sizzling chemistry, great dialogue, romance, intrigue, passion, humor and lots of steam. As I learnt about the lives of Kat and Aiden I was swept away with the writing skills, the action, the suspense, the many secrets, the unfolding danger and drama, their tender, touching and sensual passion. and of course, the feel good love story between two souls haunted by their past.

Aiden is a mouthwatering ex MMA Fighter and he's strong, sexy, tattooed and pierced but guilt from a long ago trauma stops him from loving anyone.

Hot chocolate, sledding, Christmas and cold feet follow. This is a very sweet little novella. And I do mean sweet. There is one kiss.

Narration is average. I'd probably have to hear more of Susan Soriano's work to judge her adequately.

It is fairly reminiscent of some of the Harlequin stories I have read in the past.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Susan Soriano?

As this was my first audio book of this genre I have really nothing to compare it to. The audio books I have listened to in the past were the Harry Potter stories and the reader for those won Oscars for his performance (not exactly on the same level).

Do you think The Christmas Catch needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Not necessarily. All questions were answered. I appreciate an update at the end.

This is the first audio story I have listened to of this genre. I found it very nice although the readers voice interpretation took some getting used to.

The Story was just what I needed right now. A light clean romance with a backdrop of Christmas to set the scene. Everyone right now seems to be celebrating Christmas in July so why not? Seriously, this is a good story that anyone could enjoy. The Characterization was done well and overall there weren't really any big surprises so it was a relaxing time.
