This is the worse book, the plot is nonexistent. The dialogue is corny. The narrator was horrible. Please reconsider before you spend your money.

Good Read, solid pacing

Contrary to the other review listed for this book, I found Tempting the Enemy to be a good read. In as much as plot, I found no special weakness or plot problems myself. The characters are well-written (dialogue and character development) and the pace moves nicely without being too bogged down in places. It grabs you up front and keeps you moving along well. All in all a pleasant summer read. I really liked the narration as well and hope to see more from both author and narrator in the future.

You once fooled me with your voice. I thought I had just insulted an old lady on the phone. Someone who would be younger than us at this time. Now I get to hear your voice on command. Where did the time go?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I didn't get very far into this book because of the performance. I'm not sure I could have listened to the male narrator for very long.

Enjoyable book....

It's nice to "read" about a different time. This takes place in the 20's where men were (usually) gentlemen and women were ladies.

A good solid story but if you're looking for a lot of sex.. don't buy this. A different twist to a vampire story.

The reader was easy to listen to and not annoying like some others have been.

I think it was well worth the money and/or credit

Dark of the Moon

This was a story that I found myself rushing to get to the next chapter. The story had content, not your typical "romance" novel. I really enjoyed the tone and accent of the reader as well.

Intense Story

I enjoyed this quite a bit, however, I felt like it may have gone on for too long. Almost no sex in this book but the characters were enthralling.

It took a long time to get there but I enjoyed the ending. If you are looking for an interesting and lengthy story this is a good tale!

Great read, slow start - but worth it

This wasn't a typical vampire book compared to others I've read lately, and there was a slow start, but once it got going I was hooked. In the end, I found a wonderful story and was thankful that it didn't follow the same old plot line as many of the others.

Yawning drag after prologue

No where near as good as the first two in the series. Really quite boring. I couldn't see where any of the storyline fit into the series. It started out very good and seemed like it might answer some questions left dangling in the first, but degenerated into a talk fest, soul searching, waste of my time and money drag. I was very disappointed. I might read the next in the series, and if it is this bad, I might request my money back.

Well worth listening to

Synopsis:

'Mika is a half demon half human who is on secret mission for the demon council, to find a demon killer named Connor McCabe. What she has not told the council is that he is her mate. McCabe hates his demon half, he believes his mother was raped by his father, and tries to suppress all his demon side. Mika tries to protect McCabe whilst also working behind his back to find the spell in his possession that will release dark demons into crimson city. Mika and McCabe must survive assassination attempts whilst leaning to trust and accept each other with Mika also trying to get McCabe to accept his demon half.'

This is well read and a tight storyline with enough bends to not be totally predictable. Not all the loose ends were tied off, and with this series, there doesn't seem to be much follow-on between the various authors - so maybe we'll never know why the mystery watcher was watching, or what happens with... nah - that's be spoiling it!

A good story, however...

I actually liked this story. It was entertaining and moved along quickly. However I think it would be a better read. The narrator was so irritating. She read well, changed voices well however has a habit of lowering the tone of her voice at the end of her sentences. As if she was reading poetry. If it had a better narrator I would have given it four stars.

A good listen

The story most likely will not go down in history as the best story every written, but found the story compelling and very entertaining. The demons are an interesting race and like everyone else there are good ones and there are bad ones. The different is that demon's have a ranking system of which not only rank the "darkness" of the demon, but the strength as well. The darker the demon, the stronger the magic. I have to be honest, I missed inconsistencies stated by another reviewer and wish the errors were stated, because I missed them. I found book very entertaining and either missed or ignored "errors".

Flawed, but pretty good as romance novels go.

This series actually incorporates a plot and human interaction beyond the bedroom, which is saying a lot for its genra. The story flows pretty well. There are some inconsitencies with 'world rules' set up in the previous books, but I have noticed these in the other books as well (Jade Lee contradicts HERSELF several times in Seduced by Crimson). The errors are all minor and don't appreciably detract from the rest of the book. There was believable interaction between the main characters and good complexity in the relationships. The author allows her characters to make choices beyond those that fate allots them. There are blatent description of sex, so if you are sensitive to that this book is not for you. However, the romance managed to be a byproduct of the story rather than the reverse. Overall, for a romance novel it is okay.

This is a Good Series but this one book sucked

This series is multiple author and this author did not do her research so several things are not consistent with the other books but it is important to read to keep in the main story line. Worst book of the series but tolerable to get to the next book.

fantastic series

i have really enjoyed this series. This book is as good as its fellows. Fast paced, feisty heroine, and a storyline to keep the imagination where it wants to be- well away from the hum drum normality we are trying to escape from for a few hours. the narrator is easy to follow and sympathetic to my own reading style.

Just stick with it and it stops sucking

The author is awful. The first book I got by her was terrible for so many reasons. This one only sucked for a couple. First the writing style, first person switching by chapter, was hard to deal with at times. Second and far more important, the books read like sequels to another series. The is no character development more world building. You only learn the rules of this books universe after they are stated to be "impossible" right before/after a character does it. The only reason I may not return this book is because the audiobook was only a few bucks and I can't return the kindle book. The other book I got from this author was bad enough that I wanted my $2 back. I'm done with JE Taylor.

A romantic adventure that kept me listening.

Hear the Crickets is the first book I've ready by author BJ Sheldon, but it certainly won't be the last. With an exciting take on the world of angels, BJ pulled me into this world quickly and didn't let me go until the final word was written. The story surrounds Skyy, a woman who can't die. After centuries of living a humdrum, quiet life of seclusion, a quick turn of events leads her on a quest that becomes more than she would ever know. Secrets to her past are unlocked as she fights an enemy she never knew she had. With a band of friends and a world she never knew existed, can Skyy and her friends overcome... I loved this book from the start and wasn't ready for it to end... And the last words of this book made me ready for book two!

The narrator, Emily Durante, did an excellent job with this book and brought the characters to life. I hope that she will be on board with the next.
