Like many other late diagnosed adults, we have to put up with verbal (and nonverbal) accusations of not actually being autistic, and we are up to here with it. Bianca and Dan offer their experiences around why masking is often confused with faking by some people. If you are not sure how to respond to these claims this is the episode for you.
Bianca responds to Dan's (supposedly) sexist and misogynistic criticism of her wardrobe. In unrelated news Bianca wins Miss Autistic Universe.

There is a twist this episode that sends tremors through the podcave. Our segment Compiment From Dan is turned upside down. What will be the fallout.
We discuss a post by Kristy Forbes over at Intune Pathways
Bianca reads an email from a wise Buddhist that only serves to boost her inflated ego
We also discuss a superb article from Late To The Party's best friend Jessica Horner, who you may remember from episode 7
And of course there is an Autistic Moment as well as a new (kinda) segment Recommendations.

Welcome to the second season of the podcast. Thanks for all the lovely feedback. Don't forget to keep passing the word and if you could add a review in iTunes or wherever you get the podcast it actually makes a huge difference.
This episode we take a relaxed approach to ease you back in. Bianca and Dan discuss the holidays, tongue twisters, interviews, musicals. All while knocking back Pimms and pretending we don't need to pee badly.
And of course, we have some regular segments like Autistic Moments and a Compliment from Dan.
The theatre group mentioned for the Heathers musical is Out of the wings theatre.
Also here is a good Pimms recipe.

Our Christmas song - Late To The Party This Christmas
I'm late to the party this Christmas
It's enough just to get out the door
I've forgotten my pills
All the presents are no frills
And I've given the same ones before
I'm late to the party this Christmas
And I wont find any comfort in food
Cause the people are too loud
Im awkward in a crowd
And my lack of eye contact looks rude
I'm late to the party this Christmas
And my socks wont stop itching my feet
All this small talk is hell
I just can't stand the smells
And I'm allergic to dried fruit and wheat
So I'm late to the party this Christmas
Cause were both still recording a show
And the news is I fear
It's the last for the year
But were back next year raring to go

For this episode we take a look at dating from the perspective of an autistic person. Dan and Bianca speak to their significant others about what it was like to date undiagnosed autistic peeps. Listeners get to appreciate Bianca and Dans acting chops of full display and we learn about what goes on in the Olympics village.
This episode was recorded at the sublime accommodation and farm retreat Ripples and Tonic, a favourite of the hosts and a few Party Poopers.

On this episode we go back to our roots with a classic tête-à-tête loosely based around well-known autistic people and those we think could be. We delve back to some old tv shows and movies, none of which seem to be shared by Bianca and Dan. We also prepare for a speech that we both will be making at a party and Dan really needs to provide context a lot more often.
We have listener feedback and another installment of Autistic Moments. Dan also considered setting up a survey to determine who is the biggest 'hoot' on the podcast but he has a frail ego and may be crushed by the results.

Dans favourite review of Phantom of the Opera is this - "As I was sitting in the auditorium, I kept looking around hoping there was a chandelier above me getting ready to plummet to the ground."

On this episode we discuss the trials and tribulations of school life and we know you will relate to some of these experiences. Dan also took the opportunity to speak to his daughter Eloise about an issue she was having at school. Biance gives a thumbs down to Dans Autistic Moment so he goes overboard with sound effects to compensate. If you have an interesting Autistic Moment to share via email or even recorded, please send it our way.

This episode we speak to Jessica Horner about eating disorders and their prevalence within the autistic community. We recommend you read her highly praised article over at ABC Everyday. Jessica is a Regional Storyteller Scholarship recipient for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and is focusing her scholarship on the topic of how autistic adults go about daily life in Australia through writing, audio and photojournalism. She is also a freelance writer, photographer and visual artist with a small art business called Spoonfuls of Whimsy.
