U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Monday that current Al Qaeda leader and former right hand man to Osama Bin Laden Ayman Al-Zawahri has been killed in a drone strike in Kabul, Afghanistan.
This represents the potential end to the long reign of terror that Al Qaeda has implemented since the late 90's. Though in recent years the Islamic State has stepped into the place formerly occupied by Al Qaeda, this is a big change to the global capabilities of a once powerful militant group.
