Today is just a little reminder that everything we are building will take time.

We all want it to be done faster and I'm no different.

But all growth takes time.

Growing businesses, plants, relationships... pretty much anything we work towards will take patience and persistence.

Remember, you are not alone in this journey and you are progressing.

I am rooting for you!

A long-time friend of mine called me today and we started talking about Gary V and side hustles.

He told me that he started selling socks as his side hustle.

Not necessarily because he's always had a dream to get rich.

But because he started to enjoy these particular socks that have helped him regain his individualism outside of his corporate 9-5 job.

So he wanted to share them with others and has had some pretty good success starting out.

Will it be enough to take over his existing job or build a retirement?

Who knows.

What it will do is allow him to enjoy his hobby and make a little spending money.

After all, when we look back on life, we never say, "I wish I would have done less"

I know it may seem counter-intuitive but sometimes working for free can be the springboard that your business needs.

I get it, we all want to be compensated for any job that we perform.

But focusing on getting paid for everything you do will only have you focusing on the small picture.

By offering people value upfront, instead of asking them for something right after you meet them will give you the opportunity to build an actual relationship, leaving them fulfilled.

I am by no means implying that you shouldn't be compensated for your time and services, I am simply suggesting that you don't need to be scared or feel like less of a business person if you decide to offer something of value at no cost every once and awhile.

Just because you've become the LEADER, does not mean you need to stop being the FOLLOWER.

Just because you've become the WRITER, does not mean you need to stop being the READER

Just because you've become the SPEAKER, does not mean you need to stop being the LISTENER..

Just because you've become the TEACHER, does not mean you need to stop being the STUDENT.

After taking a vow over 6 months ago, to come from a place of contribution, things have started to change.

Deciding to create a podcast that focuses on contribution has opened my eyes to the bigger picture.

In turn, it has presented opportunities that didn't previously exist.

One of those opportunities was presented in the form of me becoming a Featured Contributor at the Young Entrepreneur Project.

Allowing me to share my knowledge with those who are looking for it.

One reason I feel that success eludes many people is that they allow others to control how they feel, or react to something.

Recently there has been a commercial by Peleton, the stationary bike company, that has people upset.

Some people have decided to dissect and pull out hidden meanings to become upset by.

This commercial has zero effect on the people that choose to not let it.

Those that do will continue to be affected by many other things that have nothing to do with them but they will allow it to consume their mind and mental real estate. Restricting their opportunity for growth

It's episode 100!

This is a huge milestone for me and one that is worth me celebrating.

When I started this podcast I didn't know if I could make it to 100 episodes, and honestly, I didn't know how many episodes that I was trying to get to.

I just made a micro-commitment to record an episode every Monday-Friday in an attempt to find my voice and the result, so far, is 100 episodes.

Had I focused on the result of 100 episodes it would have felt like forever and maybe I would have quit much sooner.

But by just focusing on the next day, the micro-commitment, the results followed.

During this podcast, the main goal has been the same...

To find my voice.

I know that there are people out there that need to hear what I have to say, and I just need to find my voice so they can benefit from it.

With that being said, I realize that I have come a long way since episode #1.

But I also know that there is much room for improvement.

Although I may never 100% find it, my journey to find my voice will continue. 

I was listening to the Tim Ferris podcast today after a friend recommended the episode.

Tim's guest was Dr. Gabor Maté and he was speaking of the Gifted or Sensitive child.

I downloaded the audio book, The Drama Of The Gifted Child right after.

With the challenges we are facing with my son and his nervousness of going to school, I wanted to share this with you. 

My goal is to help anyone who encounters something similar in the future and compress the time it takes them to get through it.
