Peter: Vorrei comprare un mazzo di fiori.
Fiorista: Che tipo di fiori preferisce?
Peter: Sinceramente non ne ho idea. Non me ne intendo molto.
Fiorista: E’ per qualcuno speciale? La sua ragazza?
Peter: No, no, è per un’amica che si laurea domani mattina.
Fiorista: Ogni fiore ha un significato diverso. Visto che è giugno, Le consiglio dei girasoli. Dato che è una laurea serve qualcosa di rosso, per esempio alcune rose.
Peter: Ho sentito che in Italia si usa l’alloro per la laurea. Uno dei miei amici porterà persino una corona di alloro domani.
Fiorista: Sì, possiamo mettere anche dell’alloro nel suo mazzo di fiori. Ha qualche altra preferenza? Sa, ciascuno ha gusti diversi. Conosce il fiore preferito della sua amica?
Peter: Secondo me a lei piacciono le gerbere. Ogni volta che vado da lei ce n’è un mazzo sul tavolo.
Fiorista: Perfetto. Aggiungo qualche gerbera arancione ed ecco a Lei un bel bouquet colorato. Le ho anche messo un bigliettino così può scrivere qualcosa di speciale o un augurio.
Peter: Grazie. Mi sembra perfetto!

Florist: Well, each flower has its own meaning. Since it is June, I would recommend some sunflowers. It is also good to have something red for a graduation—some roses, for example.
Peter: I heard that in Italy, laurel branches are common for graduation. One of my friends will even bring a laurel wreath tomorrow.
Florist: Yes, we can put some laurel branches in your bouquet of flowers. Do you have any other preference? You know, everyone has different tastes. Do you know your friend's favorite flower?
Peter: I think she might like gerberas. Every time I go to her place, she has a bouquet of them on the table.
Florist: Perfect. I've added some orange gerberas. Here you go, a nice colorful bouquet. I also put a little card so you can write something special or some wishes.
Peter: Thank you. That's perfect!
