Memorialul Victimelor Comunismului și al Rezistenței este situat în orașul Sighet, România.

Este format din două părți, Centrul Internațional de Studii asupra Comunismului și Muzeul Sighet.

Fundația Academia Civică administrează memorialul.

Ana Blandiana și Romulus Rusan au fondat memorialul în 1992 și Centrul Internațional de Studii asupra Comunismului în anul următor.

Prestigiosul Centru Internațional de Studii asupra Comunismului se concentrează pe educație, muzeologie și cercetare.

Centrul a adunat istorii orale, documente, fotografii, relicve și alte obiecte pentru a le expune.

Istoricii s-au întâlnit cu victimele care au supraviețuit comunismului și au publicat relatări ale unor evenimente trăite pe viu, din timpul regimului comunist al României și al represiunii rezistenței.

În total, cercetătorii de la centru au înregistrat peste cinci mii de ore audio și au publicat aproximativ treizeci și cinci de mii de pagini.

Au adunat, de asemenea, casete, fotografii și mii de documente.

De asemenea au organizat și multe seminarii, simpozioane și ateliere, de-a lungul anilor, în timp ce își realizau cercetările.

The Memorial of the Victims of Communism and of the Resistance is located in the town of Sighet, Romania.

It consists of two parts. the International Center for Studies into Communism and the Sighet Museum.

The Civic Academy Foundation administers the memorial.

Ana Blandiana and Romulus Rusan founded the memorial in 1992 and the International Center for Studies into Communism in the subsequent year.

The prestigious International Centre for Studies into Communism focuses on education, museology, and research.

The center amassed oral histories, documents, photos, relics, and other items for exhibits.

Historians met with surviving victims of communism and published eyewitness accounts of Romania's communist regime and the repression of the resistance.

In all, researchers at the center have recorded more than five thousand hours of audio and published approximately thirty-five thousand pages.

They also collected video cassettes, photographs, and thousands of documents.

They also organized many seminars, symposia, and workshops as they conducted their research over the years.

Following the inauguration of the International Centre for Studies into Communism, the Sighet Museum was founded on the remnants of the former Sighet Prison's ruins.

It took many years to restore the 100-year-old structure to a usable building.

The foundation and roof had to be rebuilt, insulation had to be reinstalled, and the interior walls were whitewashed.

After seven years of painstaking research, each of the cells inside the prison became a room within the museum.

The rooms progress through a chronological timeline of Romanian to show how the government developed over time, progressing through communism and totalitarianism.

Muzeul Satului din România este așezat pe Lacul Herăstrău, în inima capitalei națiunii, care este Bucureștiul.

Muzeul conservă un cătun autentic românesc, umplut cu o veritabilă comoară de obiecte și monumente datând din anii secolelor XVII spre XX.

Muzeul Satului prezintă, de asemenea, modele ale diverselor stiluri de construcții specifice unor regiuni din întreaga țară.

Originile muzeului în aer liber datează din 1867, când arheologul, scriitorul și politicianul Alexandru Odobescu a sugerat să se formeze o expoziție a arhitecturii vernaculare, într-un pavilion din cadrul Expoziției de la Paris.

În anii care au urmat, savantul Alexandru Tzigara Samurcaș a expus ideea aducerii câtorva case, din toate zonele principale ale României.

Ideea lui a prins viață în 1909, când prima casă țărănească a fost transportată din județul Gorj la Muzeul Etnografic, de Artă Națională, Artă Decorativă și Artă Industrială din București.

Totuși, a durat încă mulți ani până când Muzeul Satului a căpătat contur și a fost populat cu mai multe case transportate din diverse părți ale României.

Dimitrie Gusti, cel care a fondat Școala Sociologică din București, a petrecut peste 10 ani în cercetări intense, muncă de teren și experimente pentru a obține viziunea stabilită de Odobescu, în urmă cu mulți ani.

După toți acei ani de cercetare și de căutare a unor case potrivite pentru a fi expuse, Fundația Prinţul de Wales a finanțat amenajarea Muzeul Satului, care a durat doar două luni pentru a fi finalizat.

Echipele de pe teren au cumpărat case și mobilier reprezentative pentru epocile istorice și regiunile satelor pe care le-au cercetat.

Casele au fost atunci mutate la muzeu, unde au fost reconstruite.

Romania's Village Museum sits on Lake Herastrau in the heart of the nation's capital city of Bucharest.

The museum preserves an authentic Romanian hamlet that's filled with a veritable treasure trove of objects and monuments dating from between the seventeenth through the twentieth century.

The Village Museum also presents paradigms of various construction styles from regions throughout Romania.

The open air museum's origins date back to 1867 when archeologist, author, and politician Alexandru Odobescu suggested that they put together an exhibit about vernacular architecture in a pavilion at the Paris Expo.

In the following years, cultural savant Alexandru Samurcas espoused the idea of bringing several houses from all the principal areas of Romania.

His idea came to fruition in 1909 when the very first peasant home was transported from Gorj County to the National Ethnographic, Industrial, Decorative and Folk Art Museum in Bucharest.

However, it took many more years before the Village Museum came into being and was populated by multiple homes that had been conveyed from various parts of Romania.

Dimitrie Gusti, who founded the Sociological School of Bucharest, spent more than ten years in intense research, field work, and experiments to accomplish the vision set forth by Odobescu so many years before.

After all the years of research and looking for suitable houses to include, the Royal Prince Charles Foundation financed the setup of the Village Museum, which only took about two months to complete.

Field teams acquired houses and furnishings that were representative of their respective historical eras and regions from the villages they researched.

The houses were then moved to the museum site where they were reconstructed.
