  • Nature Doesn't Make Mistakes (yep, including you!)

What if you loved yourself so much that it affected the fundamental nature of your self - down to every cell in your being?

"Love cannot be earned, it can only be given." In this episode, Jamie reflects on the different ways throughout her life she felt she had to earn her love, instead of freely give it. She explores the ways the complete beauty and perfection of nature can directly reflect our own nature and beauty, and her life work for you is this: this weekend, go outside. Get quiet and stand in the perfection of your natural surroundings, because when you pour out love for the natural world, you might find that same love is more available to pour onto yourself.

She references Buffy Barfoot's Things That Will Help, Sarah Blondin on Insight Timer, and The Body is Not an Apology by Sonya Renee Taylor.

  • Alone in Wonderland with Christine Reed

Christine Reed's "Rugged Outdoors Woman" persona started as a joke, a nod to the outdoor adventurer that she wished to be. But in the years since, she has come into her own as a backpacker, rock climber, and trail runner. In this episode, she talks about her giant leap from day-hiking to thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail - the literal twists and turns of the trail, and the experience of grief and loss that was closely interwoven into her thru-hiking experience.

Her stories recalling long trail days, late summits, and heavy packs will have you chomping at the bit for your own adventures this coming summer!

Christine is the author of Alone in Wonderland, an adventure memoir. Alone in Wonderland is a testament to the decision to name who you want to be and make it so.

  • 2020: Dumpster fire or forest fire?

Dumpster fire (noun):  1. A complete disaster; 2. Something very difficult that nobody wants to deal with.

You've probably heard 2020 referred to as a "dumpster fire" - but was it, really? In this bonus episode, Jamie reframes the trials and tribulations of 2020 as a forest fire instead of a dumpster fire. (This distinction is important.) You'll be left considering how in your own life, the burn of 2020 has yielded - or, is currently yielding - new growth.

The book she references is "The Book of Joy," by Book by 14th Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, and Douglas Abrams.
