    00:00 - Introduction
06:55 - Free-for-All (Most missed from the parish, most enjoyed in the classroom)
21:13 - Main Topic (Children in Church)
On episode ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-THREE Mike and Wade are joined by Rev. Dr. Phil Huebner from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, WI to discuss children in church. This is the topic of Rev. Dr. Huebner's dissertation, which is entitled “What to Do with Children in Church? A Study on Helping Parents Engage Their Children in Worship.” Before getting to the main topic, however, the three decide to discuss what they most miss from being in the parish, as well what they most enjoy about being in the classroom.
A big thanks to Rev. Dr. Phil Huebner for joining us on this episode!

  • Episode 122: Apologetics with Dr. Kerry Kuehn
    00:00 - Introduction
06:14 - Free-for-All (Course you liked the best, but didn't pursue further)
    17:40 - Main Topic (Apologetics)
On episode ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-TWO Mike and Wade are joined once again by Dr. Kerry Kuehn, who was a guest very early on (before he realized what this podcast was all about). We are fortunate to have duped him into joining us again (probably because Mike has since joined the podcast and brought some level of respectability to it). Dr. Kuehn is a physicist, which is the topic we (sort of) discussed with him on his previous episode. In this episode, however, we discuss another area that he's spent time pursuing: Apologetics. In fact, Dr. Kuehn and Mike co-teach a summer course at Wisconsin Lutheran College on the topic. So if this conversation interests you, make sure to check out the course this coming summer and you can find a few other discussions we've had on the topic right here.
A big thanks for Dr. Kuehn for putting up with us once again.

  • Episode 121: Noam Chomsky & Michel Foucault
    00:00 - Introduction
05:28 - Free-for-All (Highs and Lows of the past semester)
13:42 - Main Topic (Noam Chomsky & Michel Foucault)
On episode ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-ONE Mike and Wade sit down to discuss Noam Chomsky and Michel Foucault, two philosophers who will challenge you to ask questions that you didn't even know you had, as well as some that you will probably decide you still don't have. Before getting to the philosophers, though, Wade and Mike use the free-for-all to complain about the things they don't like about their current semester (and maybe a thing or two that they do like). When they finally get to the main topic their discussion takes as it's spring board the debate between Chomsky and Foucault that was held in 1971 and takes as it's focus the question of human nature. If you're interested in watching that debate, you can find it on YouTube right here.

But they're not only joined by these two fantastic guests, they are also joined by a live audience, as this episode was recorded at the 2019 Here We Still Stand conference, which was held in October of 2019.

  • Wingin’ It 117.1: The Life of Luther (Part 27) – Karlstadt
In the TWENTY-SEVENTH episode in our Wingin' It series on the life of Martin Luther, Wade and Mike discuss the Andreas Rudolph Bodenstein von Karlstadt (aka Karlstadt....or Carlstadt) and his role in the Reformation. Hopefully their discussion will provide a bit more nuance to Karlstadt than the standard Lutheran understand of Karlstadt provides. If nothing else, we hope it provides a bit more context and less of a caricature than you've had before.
