Ajahn Jotipalo reflects on a question raised by a lay visitor, “How can I sustain mindfulness?” One has to train in and develop mindfulness over time. Ajahn Jotipalo offers different ideas for raising energy for meditation, encourages us to try new things if we are caught in negative mind states, and to look at the result of our efforts. How much mindfulness and concentration is enough? Just enough to know what is happening, to do no harm, to be kind, and to be present for our own feelings and life.
