The idea of working for part of the year and travelling for the rest of it isn't new and many people dream of being able to do it successfully. Some even manage to do it for awhile. But there are a lot of things to consider when you're deciding to take on this lifestyle.

One of the biggest considerations, of course, is how you're going to fund it. Saving up for a number of months - and being disciplined enough to hang onto those savings even in the eye of a "really cool" toy you see along the way - is hard work.
