  • Healing Hormonal Imbalances, Post Birth Control Syndrome, and Managing Stress for a Happy Body with Jessica Bippen

There’s so much noise out there when it comes to holistic health and healing the body that it can be hard to even start. Today’s guest, Jessica Bippen, is a Registered Dietitian with a holistic nutrition mindset redefining what it means to find health and wellness in this unique field. As someone who has gone through disordered eating and a multitude of health issues herself, Jess shares her experience restoring her mindset around food; healing her body; and handling stress. The stress of disordered eating can take a toll on mental and physical health which Jess explains as she walks us through her process of healing her mind and body through food, professional care, mindset shifts, and lifestyle habits. The first step Jess took was getting off of Birth Control and working towards having a natural menstrual cycle again. In this process she was diagnosed with a false case of PCOS and ultimately left her conventional OBGYN (whom would not listen and insisted she go back on BC) to find a doctor that would actually listen to her. In this she finds a licensed Holistic Doctor that began to test and look at the root cause of her hormonal imbalances and gut issues. The biggest takeaway from this experience for Jess was that her new doctor did *not* just prescribe a bunch of supplements and superfoods … instead they worked to get her body healthy and alter her lifestyle before moving onto those modalities! We discuss how to create new habits that support physical, mental, and emotional health all while being reasonable for a busy and full lifestyle. The key component of this conversation is stress and learning to manage it for a long and fruitful life. • Overcoming Orthorexia and the Big Scary "C" Word with Dani Breiner

Orthorexia is a new health dilema sweeping across the nation. As people begin to recognize this ‘obsession with health’ as actually unhealthy, change is being made. Today’s guest, Dani Breiner, has struggled with orthorexia in the past and now works to help other women fight through the obsessive habits and create a well balanced approach to health. After a toxic relationship left Dani with low self esteem, she found herself deep in disordered eating as she restricted, purged, and did anything possible to change her body. When she finally left the toxic relationship ruining her life, Dani found herself falling hard for a then stranger, now love of her life, named Thomas. The addition of Thomas into her life helped Dani leave the disordered eating but it wouldn’t be much longer before a new struggle arose. As Thomas was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer, Dani’s life took a drastic turn as she became fully immersed in the world of cancer and treatments. Desperate to save Thomas, Dani fell back into disordered eating but in a new way, in a disguised way, as orthorexia. What seemed like a desire to ‘save Thomas’ was actually an obsessive relationship to health, clean eating, and fear foods that ruled Dani’s life. In today’s episode Dani shares how she fell into both types of disordered eating; the struggles she faced while recovering; and practical tips to conquer food fears, eat out again, and reclaim your relationship to health. In this we discuss what it was like to support a partner going through intensive chemo; the struggles they faced as a couple; how to remain hopeful; and why Cancer changed her entire viewpoint on life. We also delve into what it means to learn from your pain and how to not dwell on the past. It’s an emotionally raw episode with much inspiration! • A New Approach to Health, Embracing Your Skin, and the Benefits of Being Single with Kennedy Haffner

It’s a rare concept in today’s society to see food as nothing more than nourishment; our bodies as a vehicle for life rather than an object; and to embrace our skin with flaws. Somehow though, today’s guest, Kennedy Haffner, has done it all and shares her wisdom in this interview. Kennedy shares how her childhood in a health conscious home actually kept her from falling prey to disordered eating, poor body image, and the obsession with health that so many face in modern day. We discuss the difference between her upbringing and my entry into the ‘health’ scene to show where I stumbled upon the unhealthy version of ‘health’ that impacted my life. Kennedy also delves into her skin journey and the emotional process she went through to accept her acne and learn to truly care for her skin. We wrap things up with a discussion on relationships and how to become comfortable with our most crucial relationship, that with ourselves. In this Kennedy shares how she plans her own adventures, travelling solo, and learning to be okay with being single.
