What does success mean to you? In today’s episode with Cameron Rogers of @freckledfoodie we discuss what it means to redefine your definition of success to live a happier life and stress less. As the building blocks of what most consider ‘successful’, Cameron and I chat about what it means to find success in things outside of work, money, and external validation. As a former employee of JP Morgan Cameron has felt the radical transition from working a job associated with status and money to becoming a self-made entrepreneur in the health and wellness scene of NYC. Her values of finances had to shift in order for her to make this new life work and in that process she redefined what success looks like to her. As another part of that journey Cameron shares what it took for her to overcome limiting beliefs, value her self worth, look past societal standards, and find her voice in her work. We discuss what it means to be honest with ourselves and brands when placing a value on our work and how to ask for the appropriate compensation. As well as how to ‘not’ compare ourselves and work with a past version of things but instead make a new standard to follow. Cameron also shares what it was like to start this work process while healing from severe heavy metal poisoning. Her health journey was a confusing time for her and she advises on how to be your own advocate in the health field while not becoming obsessed with the outcome. The final topic we discuss is of Cameron’s podcast, Freckled Foodie and Friends, and what to expect from it. We chat of the fun and work we put into our podcasts and Cameron displays why Freckled Foodie and Friends is not your average show.

What if we all lived life with a little more presence? With more gratitude and appreciation for the everyday things? Today’s guest Addie Martanovic shares how her life of transitions has granted her a new perspective on life that we all could use more of. Addie and I begin by discussing the everyday turmoils of sparking creativity, content creation, social media, and living on the cold and grey east coast. The conversation expands however as Addie takes us back in time to her start with instagram and blogging as a young adult in the big city of Chicago. After an unhealthy obsession with health got Addie started in this space, it was the loss of her mom to cancer and the start of a new job at Simple Mills that got her life moving in a new direction. She shares how she lived with the grief and what it was like to grow through it with her family as well. In this we both share insight into how one can support another as they experience grief + the effects of it on one’s life perspective. Addie explains her decision to leave Simple Mills and transition from food to lifestyle as she took her blog and account, @chickpeainthecity, full time in January 2019. And as real talk goes, Addie gets very real about the struggles of blogging full time and the pressure that comes with constantly creating content for instagram. This conversation as a whole is perfect for anyone facing transitions in life, moving through grief, experiencing job issues, or just looking to find some appreciation for the everyday things. Spotting the beauty in everyday life and catching the little moments is a specialty of Addie’s that we also discuss in length throughout this conversation.

Understanding who we are and why we act the way we do is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to spiritually and mentally evolve. Human Design is the perfect modality of this as the HD types give a broad understanding of ‘who we are’ while the nitty gritty details of a chart reading gives the unique understanding of ‘why we act,” the way we do. To take a deep dive into Human Design, Katie Calder is back on the podcast today with a full reading of my Human Design chart. She breaks down what Human Design is, how it can improve our livelihood, and the ins and outs of a chart reading. Katie uses her knowledge of the HD system of gates, portals, colors, numbers, and more to give what I like to call a ‘soul’ reading. In this episode we are discussing the fundamentals of me at a soul level, without the conditioning of society. Katie begins by explaining what it means that I’m a Generator and then goes into the specifics of my chart, something that is unique to each of us. In this we discuss: learning to trust in universal timing; the strength of my intuition and why I simply ‘know’ things; my role as a story keeper in this lifestyle (how ironic?!); the power of empathy and how to deal with extreme empathetic bonds; and so much more. It’s real, it’s raw, and it’s full of inspiration and education. Listen with an open mind and an open heart, this episode may be the catalyst for something more in your own life! The building of a vision is something that takes a lot of passion, a lot of work, and in most cases, a lot of time. That’s why I’m thrilled to have today’s guest, Aria Massoudifar, on the podcast to discuss how she created her vision of a health app, Vito, and the lessons learned along the way. With an education in the tech field yet a love for health, Aria found herself yearning to create something to help others while also utilizing her skills and knowledge in tech. After struggling to find a dependable and trigger free health app in her own life, Aria began to build a vision then create the vision of her very own health app. What started as an idea slowly began to come into fruition as Vito the app came to life. In this episode we discuss what her background in the tech field taught Aria as well as what prompted her to create Vito. She walks us through how the app works, the ways it can benefit your life, and the hard work she put into it. We also discuss what it means to stand firm in your self beliefs, setting boundaries, learning to communicate, and to overall support oneself. This involves respecting the boundaries of others while also respecting our own; believing in ourselves when we feel pressured; and continuing to do the work that lights us up.
