Today on the show we head to back to the years around Confederation to talk about a project called “Letters to Joey” -- a collection of letters and telegraphs to former premier Joey Smallwood. The letters speak about people's concerns, stories about their lives, their hopes and dreams. Guests include Vicki Hallett, an associate professor in the department of gender studies at Memorial University; Sonja Boon, an adjunct professor in the department of gender studies at MUN; Heidi Coombs, a historian of Newfoundland & Labrador women's history; and Terry Bishop-Stirling, a retired history professor.
