Very Good Read

The storyline is great! Spelling errors are distracting. John Thornton has put together an excellent story, well worth reading! I couldn't wait to get through the series.

Loved it

Cant wait to get the next installment on the series, the characters are well developed,and the stories are engaging. And the price is right.

Good Ideas, Terrible Execution

This book is the continuation of the Colony Ship books. I skimmed most of the book because the writing and editing were so poorly done. This book had the same problem with editing that the others had, but this time it was coupled with atrocious writing. Too many adjectives, too much info dumping, and the addition of an artificial intelligence with a skewed sense of purpose launched the book from mildly odd to downright ridiculous. The language is stilted and repetitive. Past events are explained over and over again. Every character is written as if they were as intelligent as three year olds. The villains, both computer and human, are so over the top yet incompetent they seem to be nothing more than jokes. This was a real disappointment.

This is a great book!

After finishing"Unknowns" I had fully intended to read Jay Allan's new book, but John Thornton has gotten me so invested in the characters that I just have to see this through. This is a great premise for a series of books, and I can't thank Mr. Thornton enough for letting my into his universe.

Unknows of the Colony Ship is OK

Being the third book in the series, this continuation of the story was good. It was a bit young of a read for me.

Awsome short audio dramas with the Roar of ANGRON!

This is a great pick up if you are into the Horus Heresy. there are 7 short stories i think that include Kharn, Lucious the Eternal, Horus, Salamanders, Space Wolves, Cypher, and Iron Hands. Loved the Roar of Angron, gets me charged for work.

Excellent tale that has well crafted and authentic plot devices, is easy to follow, and will highly entertain most readers

This is a very well crafted first novel set in Austin, Texas. The story definitely leaves the reader guessing about some of the major elements of the story; I finished the book in just a few quick sittings, which is rare for me. The author clearly has a much greater technical knowledge that your average fiction writer (I really get annoyed at dumbed-down storytelling elements, but this story is smart in the same way that "Mr Robot" is, which happens to be a very smartly written TV show). But just because there are some "techie" aspects to the story doesn't mean it will only appeal to computer nerds; almost anyone should be able to easily follow the story and will not get lost when reading the book. Also, the description of the downtown Austin lifestyle feels authentic (right down to the Abarth and frequent Thai dining of the main character), and opens up an interesting world to peek into. In addition, the depiction of corporate politics feels genuine (both the good and the bad).

In summary, I had a wonderful time reading the book and look forward to future titles from this author; highly recommended!

Job Well Done Mr. Boyd !!!

Well, I kind of went into this one expecting a long an detailed iteration on the process of cyber security, since I've known the author of the book for several years now ..........and very much aware of his "techie leanings ..........but ........ for his first attempt at being an author, Mr. Boyd Bill did a wonderful job of crafting this story in and amongst all of the familiar things in the Austin area. I was hooked from the beginning as Gus became a very "real" person to me as he seemed to take on the personality and character of the author. What I enjoyed the most here was my inability to guess what was going to happen as I went thru the story of and with Gus. The whole premise of the insurance policy was intriguing and kept me interested. Mr Boyd is quite skilled in the dialogue and has piqued my interest in whatever he may write in the future. Although the title somewhat focus on the "techie" side of life, you surely don't need to be a techie type to follow what is a captivating story. Well done Brother Bill.

This book was so much fun! I loved the Austin info - very in sync with Keep Austin Weird! The author did a great job of keeping me interested in the story, and I really wanted to see how everything played out. Anyone working in InfoSec will be able to relate to Gus's job.

Awesome

Abigail is blamed for whatever is happening. A completely wonderful story in this fantastic series. You just have to continue listening to find out what happens with Abigail and if she gets out of her dangerous situation. The narrator was extremely pleasant to listen to.

Wow. Loved it.

Now we know more about how the ninth circle and the council are related and what part the church plays. I can't wait to see what happens next. Awesome to the very end. I received this audio book for free at my request and voluntarily reviewed.
