FiveThirtyEight founder and political prognosticator Nate Silver is out with a new book, “On the Edge: The Art of Risking Everything.” Silver discusses the margin for error in 2024 Presidential election polling, as well as the art of risk and betting on everything, from sports to elections. On the 89th anniversary of Social Security, CNBC’s Sharon Epperson reports that 69% of the Americans polled by CNBC ranked social security a top issue in deciding their votes in the election, and over 70% of adults polled were concerned about the program running out. Social Security Administration Commissioner Martin O’Malley explains the program’s longevity and proposed reform.
