Welcome back to another episode... I am sharing some insights on how Gratitude changed my life and so it can work for you as well.
"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough."
Even though I learned about Gratitude and practiced it all my life, the logic didn't hit me entirely until I went through my journey in the year 2009. This journey made me connect all the dots. It was like when I was being examined to what I learned growing up and giving my answers.
The day I turned around from self-pity to self-acceptance and prayed the simple word "thank you" to god, my life got better. The day that my husband said, "you are not as bad as you imagine in your head. You are alive and celebrate it," changed my life DOWNSIDE UP. Yes, at that time, it did hurt me deep down that he did hurt me saying that, but after few days, I realized it's okay if I can't get out of bed until an hour struggling and feed my kids, but I am ALIVE. I am alive to see them smiling and started asking for help from the universe. I stopped moaning about my ill health instead saw the blessings of having two wonderful kids around me and a helping and caring husband. What else did I want in that self-acceptance moments? I was being accepted by my family more quickly than my self-acceptance of who I am. I re-created myself, where years ago I couldn't accept myself and hurt myself physically and emotionally all my life.
Gratitude is the knowing that everything is in perfect, Divine order as it should be right now. Don't consider Gratitude to hope that it will all work out; it's thankful that it already has. Believe in it as it already happened.
Write the Gratitude Journal
Start cultivating this new habit of being grateful in your life in all aspects and identify where they are and this brings in more of it. It's a mirror reflection. You gather more and get to see them doubling up. No matter how small it is, keep collecting these treasures of moments. Could a smile from a stranger down the road? Or giving a helping hand to a neighbor. Look around with an open eye to be grateful for. You will see life from a different perspective.
Write down the things you are grateful for in your life if it means only one thing right now. For example, you are breathing. Ask your inner guide to bring in more, which means bringing you closer to nature to get fresh air or creating a space to breathe in sincerely etc and draw an infinity symbol beside it. Every day when you pray remind of this and show Gratitude.
I welcome my life fully with being present.
