Dr. Sterling Elliott, clinical pharmacist at Northwestern Medicine and assistant professor of orthopaedics at Feinberg School of Medicine, joins Lisa Dent to discuss a study that tied use of GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic and Wegovy to an increased risk of blindness. Dr. Elliott says that, while there isn’t a need for those using the medications to “slam the brakes” over this, it is important to “be aware of what’s going on” and be prepared to contact your doctor and ophthalmologist for specific answers for your case.
