Ald. Bennett Lawson, 44th Ward, joins Lisa Dent to discuss the security upgrades for Wrigley Field advancing in City Council. Ald. Lawson shares when the upgrades will begin and how long they will take to complete.

Robert Bruno, a professor of labor and employment relations at the U. of I. and director of the Project for Middle Class Renewal, joins Lisa Dent to discuss the project’s effort to strengthen the middle class in Illinois through policy. Bruno details the results of a joint study that show the Illinois is facing a housing shortage that requires more than 220,000 homes built in the next five years in order to keep up with demand.

Jaba Tsitsuashvili, Attorney for Institute for Justice, joins Lisa Dent to discuss the Supreme Court allowing for the Trump Administration to deport immigrants to countries they are not native to. These third country removals, Tsitsuashvili explains, come as a result of the Trump administration expediting the deportation process, not allowing immigrants the ability to find a lawyer before their deportations.

Krishnamoorthi details the events that led to his visit to the ICE facility. Then, he addresses the intelligence leak about the Iran strikes, and President Trump stating that he will postpone classified briefings with lawmakers on the Iran strikes.

Paul Wappel, Public Information Officer at IDOT, joins Lisa Dent to discuss how the heat wave lead to roads buckling through out the Chicago area. Over prolonged periods of extreme heat, Wappel explains, the pavement expands, and when there is no more room for expansion, the roads buckle. He encourages people to call authorities when they might encounter these instances.

Nationally syndicated financial columnist and author Terry Savage joins Wendy Snyder, filling in for Lisa Dent, to discuss the stock market. Savage details the rallies on the stock market in spite of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Then, she reviews what might be the reason for the surge, and as always, answers questions from listeners.
