We then pivot the discussion to veteran CTV anchor Lisa Laflamme who was abruptly let go by Bell Media. The company is facing plenty of backlash for the way it handled this situation. And, they immediately announced her replacement to be long-time TV reporter Omar Sachedina. Finally, Ontario hospitals are spending millions of temporary agency nurses that are dealing with severe staffing shortages.

PUBLIC HEALTH AGENCY OF CANADA MONITORING WASTEWATER FOR POLIO
Libby Znaimer is now joined by Dr. Sameer Elsayed, A professor of infectious diseases and microbiology at Western University.
In the news: The Public Health Agency of Canada will begin testing wastewater for Polio. Canada has been Polio free since 1994 and much of the credit for that goes to vaccination against it. However, there is growing concern about the deadly virus considering it still is circulating in other countries. The U.S. just reported its first case in ten years last month. But, just how worried should we be about the potential for a full on outbreak of Polio? Dr. Elsayed explains.

INFLATION SLOWED DOWN TO 7.6% IN JULY: STATS CAN

According to Statistics Canada, inflation slowed down to 7.6 percent amid lower gas prices.You'll remember that back in June the rate of inflation hit an almost 40 year high when it reached 8.1 percent.
