I love this series of books.

This book had so many twists and turns I couldn't stop listening. I was so sad to see that the book did not last very long . I was so impressed with this book I bought the next in the series. This book was fantastic let's hope the next is even better.

I think this book is a little better than the first one but I also think these series of three books could have been joined in just one. I don't see why they separated them. Neither the first one or this one had an "end" . not even a cliffhanger, each of them finished as any of the other chapters did

I liked it even more than the first one.

great performance. loved the story and the twists it took. can't wait to read the next one.

Amanda Hocking does it again

Who do you trust and who is your enemy? This is the second book in the Kanin serie and it pick's up right where the first left of. This one has lots of plots in it and you really have a hard time putting the book down because you just want to know what happens next. It's beautiful written and I just have to read the last now.

Good story

First book is slow to start but going on and into book 2 the narrator gets better and so does the story. Well worth the slow start

Love. this author

I've read these stories several times but it's different hearing them. it adds a whole new dimension. the performers really helped too. they did a great job

Awesome series finale

The Faery Guardian was a great conclusion to an already awesome series. The series as a whole was well paced and original with three dimensional characters. And this book was no different.

It was a little painful watching Ryn and Violet interacting since she didn't have her memory. But I love it all anyway. I liked watching her grow, and wondering how the new, greatly matured girl would reconcile with her former self.

The losses were sad: the death, the Destruction. But, because of the loss, and the common enemy, it brought the fae real together.

Overall, great book, with a good ending :-) go read it (but make sure you read the first two first).

loved this whole book series! everyone needs to check out these books. they are witty and there were twists and turns you don't see coming.

Good ending to a great series

This probably was more of a 5 star-er...I wasn't in the right mindset. It just seemed to be too slow in the beginning, then it caught it's pace in the middle but the ending was way too fast. However, I love this series it was sweet and the story didn't do anything I expected it to. Also the heroine was the best kind of imperfect--she's smart, tough, capable and mostly-ethical but also a little bit selfish and way too driven to be the best and she really does screw up bad because of it. The love interest and love story is also just wonderful. A great series worth listening to.

A Court of Thorns and Roses - Sarah J. Maas, she also writes about the fae and while they are vastly different in their approach, the adventure and the character-driven story aspect is similar. Both fantastic writers.

This series is so good. I'm shocked that a publisher hasn't picked it up yet because it is so much better than a lot of the teen books that get published. This has a finesse to it that is rarely seen in the self-publishing world. I highly recommend this series!

Loved it! easy to listen. never wanted to stop. it was way better then the Hunger games

Annoying at times

I struggled to finish this book due to Cayden calling Ember "Angel" every time he talked to her. I turned it off a few times due to my annoyance with the Angel calling. I get it the nickname but over used to the power of 10. At one point, I made a drinking game of every time he called Angel, I would drink. I don't suggest playing longer than a chapter or you'll be hungover.

Why only one review? That's why I passed it up each time, thinking maybe it's not good. I pictured the overused cut-throat world of pretty ballerinas trying to dance the coveted role of Giselle, so ignored it until now.

Although the title character, Ori never speaks, you have a crystal clear picture of her from alternating narrators Violet (V) and Amber. From disparate worlds, V is a rich miserable, over-privileged, narcissistic sociopath hoping to dance her way into Julliard. Amber pulls the story from being a cliche by bringing us into her world as an indigent, unloved daughter who killed her abusive stepfather (or did she?) and now resides with the other 41 girls in a juvenile correction facility. There are several tragic events told superbly.

The story is haunting and gritty, yet mystical near the end. Perfect ending. The writing is superb. Suma introduces an unknown ballet as the central theme tying in the tragic heroine; color red between both narrators; playing to revenge and retribution. Who says YA stories are subpar? They obviously haven't dissected this one.

The narrators are the perfect fit. V is clipped and unapologetic and Amber is a blend of kind with a hard edge just as I would picture.

Excellent story!

Dark and weird

Very enjoyable, creepy YAF. Orange is the new black flavour, with a bit of an otherworldly kick.

Beautifully written, but poorly narrated.

As always, Nova Ren Suma's prose is lyrical and gut-wrenching, but the narration was so poor, it was difficult to listen to. The narrators sound like they are doing cold readings with sub-par quality microphones, resulting in something that sounds like a high-school play instead of the poetic potential this book could bring to audio.

Second greatest book from Nova!!!

Love love love Nova Ren Suma!!! She's my favorite author! 17 and Gone is the best book! The walls around us is just as good as 17 and gone, if not better!!!

ENGAGES CHILD TO LOVE READING!

great for an original Goosebumps book. I've been reading them to my 8 year old and he loves them... I'm hoping when he's a little more fluid with his reading, these will keep him engaged to gain confidence to finish a whole chapter book!

Keeps the kids busy!

I used to read this when I was in my pre teens and thru my teens and I'm going to try and introduce them at the workplace to see if the 21st century kids take to them. I would recommend these books for light, fun reading. The font is big. Parents, there are no pictures in these books. If you want illustrations, go buy a comic book! Highly recommended series.

I had never read this story even when I was a child collecting these books. I finally got around to reading it and it was very good at least I thought so.

I love Laura Knight Keating's voice. It is a very nice voice for audible books, HOWEVER, I don't know what it is about her recordings but it sounds like she has a permanent case of cotton mouth. Either that or she's forever unwrapping a candy while recording. It's really strange and one of those underlining sounds that tend to irk you more and more as the recordings progress. I'm hoping it is just this recording session but we'll find out with the last book.....

Weaker than the others

I was really looking forward to this book, but I feel it was missing a lot. The main character didn't retain the Chutzpah she had in the previous two book. At the end of the last book she was strong and the beginning of this book she is so weak. She whined her way through 20 chapters. She would get stronger then flake out. I'm not sure if I will sign on for the next book.

Reign

The story was great. I'm not happy with the narrator. I liked the woman who did the previous three books.

Good book

It was very difficult getting use to the new voice, I honestly liked the other one better. The story was good though. I did predict some of what was going to happen but I was not expecting the ending. Very excited about the last one.

Good short stop in the story line.

This was a good continuation of the story. Unfortunately I ended up reading it out of order so it gave away pieces I didn't know but that's my own fault.

I appreciate the friendship development between the two main characters. The interactions flowed well and were believable in my opinion. If you are a fan of the series I'd recommend the book. It's not a read alone book though. Without the context of the series, the book would be meaningless.

This was a separate book???

Loved the series, but when I downloaded this third and final book I expected it to be more than 10 short chapters. I listened to the entire book within two visits to the gym. Wish I would've looked at the details before downloading - this could've just been a prologue at the end of the last book. :-(

but the reason I have it 4 was cause I felt it was rushed & I REALLY REALLY WISH THIS WOULD'VE BEEN a FULL SIZE NOVEL! It had SO MUCH she could've done with it!! I still loved it! I guess if the ONLY COMPLAINT is how much I DESPERATELY WANTED IT LONGER THEN YOU KNOW IT'S AMAZING!

Revisiting Old Friends

As a huge fan of THE PROGRAM, I was so excited when this short book was announced. It is set after the 2nd book, THE TREATMENT and picks up right where that book left off.

One of my favorite things about this series is that the characters are well rounded. They are typical teens/young adults with flaws and missteps. The story was very satisfying and well worth the listen. It made me want to go back and revisit the series.

Kirby Heyborne does a good job with the narration after the first 10 minutes or so which is how long it takes for him to find his pacing. He also mispronounces the name Asa as Ah-za which bugged me, but for the most part he was good.

Sadly, the waiting begins again for the "prequel" of sorts THE REMEDY.

Great series,

love the story line the writer does a great job of suspended disbelief. I hang on every word listening to the narrator. What a pleasure to hear.

Slow to start

It was the same narrator as the other books in the series who did a good job in representing the younger versions of the characters from the main storyline. However it was quite a slow book at the start and I struggled to stay interested depite being a fan. Also it resolved quite quickly and gently as well so I keep forgetting how it ended. It may just be me but it missed the humour and sharpness of the rest grey wolves and fey books.
