Regardless of the title, this is not a book just about how to lose weight and it's not another diet book. It is a strategic guide to making life changing decisions that can lead you to permanent weight loss. As such it is worthwhile reading for anyone seriously wanting to change their life by shedding excess weight.
The book covers topics ranging from our belief systems and our conscious and unconscious minds to identifying and aligning ourselves with our goals. It won't tell you what to eat!
A key strategy for me was learning to listen to my body, not just my mind, in relation to the food choices I make. Our bodies have a physical reaction when we think about a particular food while our minds have an emotional reaction first (chocolate anyone?). There are useful tools for identifying the difference.
There are many "wow" moments in this book as author Katie Darden teaches you to truly take on the identity of the person you want to be. I recommend it anyone who not only wants to lose weight but to anyone who wants to transform their life!
It's Not Just the Food
Katie Darden takes a unique approach to weight loss. She correctly notes that there is no magic brand of food, but we are all individuals with different needs. Her book is all about using her strategies to love yourself, change your mindset, and losing weight for you and not for somebody else. I also liked that she used her personal experience with this approach.
Very wel done
Lots of good ideas for people who are losing weight or want to help their mind help them to lose the weight. You may need a tape recorder to tape the long processes she takes you through. I like how she sprinkled her story in with her words. This is not a diet book - no food plans, not calories give, no recipes, but some good sounding advice and techniques for you to apply to your life.
Wake Up Call
I enjoyed this book because I could relate to everything that Katie spoke about. It's kind of like a life lesson and we can all use gentle reminders like this. It's good, thanks Katie!

This has some really great info in it. You may have seen some of it before, but you will have everything you need at your fingertips. Recommended!
