    Publisher's Summary:
A stunning breakout novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Still Missing in which a woman is convicted of her sister's murder.
Toni Murphy was eighteen when she and her boyfriend, Ryan, were wrongly convicted of the murder of her younger sister. Now she is thirty-four and back in her hometown, working every day to forge and adjust to a new life on the outside. She's doing everything in her power to avoid violating her parole and going back to prison. But nothing is making that easy not Ryan, who is convinced he can figure out the truth; not her mother, who clearly doubts Toni's innocence; and certainly not the group of women who made Toni's life miserable in high school and who may have darker secrets than anyone realizes. Before Toni can truly move on, she must risk everything to find out the truth and clear her name.

    Didn't Care For the Narrator
I love Chevy Stevens, but this narrator really isn't the best choice. She has a very nasal quality and sounds like she might have a cold. She also has some... regional pronunciations, I think? Or it's a speech impediment. She says words like "shoulder" as "showder" and "told" like "tode." I found that to be very distracting.
    Couldn't put it down.
    Any additional comments?
I listened to or read all of Chevy Stevens' books so far and found this as good or better than the others. It kept my attention 100% of the time and I couldn't wait to listen to it. I also found the narration excellent. I can't wait for the next one. I loved the character growth and what I learned about life in prison and what parole exactly is. The romantic side of the novel was wonderful as well. I am sorry I finished it!
    Couldn't stop listening!
What did you like best about this story?
Loved the heroine, the suspense, and the setting. The family dynamics were particularly interesting to me.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I like what they already came up with:"They said she was a murderer. They said she killed her sister. But they lied."
    Any additional comments?
I couldn't get into "Still Missing," but I devoured "That Night". Stevens has mastered the art of torturing her darlings. Here she did so in a way that I was able to endure it and maintain hope for Toni. I'm very picky about narrators, but I loved this one. I think she had a bit of a cold, but it didn't bother me as it seemed to other reviewers.
    Always a good read
Chevy Stevens is a great story teller and I've enjoyed this as well as the other 4 books that are available on audible at the moment. A well paced story and kept me engaged.
it grabbed me and would not let go!
I'm one of those readers who often grows impatient with mysteries, often flippin to the back to get to the whodunit chapters. But not with this one! Thank you Chevy Stevens for opening doors into dark places and stories I might have avoided otherwise. I finished this book wanting to know more, see more, and hear more from you.

    Promising "Cozy" Series
I often read for relaxation, so I'm always on the lookout for new "cozy" series. This is one of the best I've found recently.
One thing that appealed to me right away was that the story takes place in Minnesota, which is where I live. The fictional town of Mayville is situated on Lake Pepin. There are several real Minnesota towns in similar locations - it is a beautiful part of the state. I've visited the area often, so it was easy for me to visualize Mayville.
The pace is brisk, with a mysterious death occuring early in the story. Numerous clues are found, some are "red herrings." I wasn't able to guess the final solution until it was revealed near the end of the book.
Though I like cats, I would not describe myself as "cat person." Owen and Hercules, the main "cat characters", have some very unusual abilities that add an element of fantasy to the story.
I liked protagonist Kathleen Paulson. Many other characters are introduced throughout the story. I'm hoping that some of them will show up in future books of this series.
The 10 plus hours of this story went by quickly for me. I plan to listen to more books in this series.
    Magical Mystery Worth a Listen
Would you listen to Curiosity Thrilled the Cat again? Why?
Yes it was very interested I enjoy the all the of the characters and I love the small town feel of the story. This series reminds of Heather Blake's series. I really looking forward to getting to know them all in the book.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kathleen, Maggie and of course the cats.
Have you listened to any of Cassandra Campbells other performances before? How does this one compare?
She does a great job I have always enjoyed her I do hope she does the next books in this sereis
    Any additional comments?
I think this is a wonderful series for anyone to listen to. I was little surprised at the ending but that is how I like them. I suggest this one to anyone. I have already downloaded the next 2 and hope the 2 after that are loaded up soon.
A Very Tame Cozy - Things to know...
The thing to know about this book is that there isn't much action. If you want excitement look elsewhere. I like peaceful books, with small town settings where characters bake and hang out with their cats and even I found this book very mild. There is a lot of meaningless polite dialogue too. "How are you today, Kathleen?" "I'm fine." "Are you sure you are fine?" "Yes, I am sure. Thank you so much for asking." That sort of thing. Kathleen is not an exciting person. There's no romance (though clearly the hunky detective who likes cats is intended as a future love interest).

    Unabridged! Yay!
As an appreciative reader of the Amelia Peabody series I was thrilled to see this book in it's unabridged form. The performance by Barbara Rosenblat is unequaled in my listening experience. And the story is fun, humorous and interesting as are almost all in this series.
Please continue to petition Audible to skip the abridged versions of this series or any other for that matter!
    Another great story
Another wonderful story about the Emerson family. Barbara Rosenblatt handles all of the voices as she always does - with skill and continuity. I did notice a couple of times where she got her voices mixed up, but they were minor and lasted only a moment.
The Emersons have three major issues, that are, of course, intertwined. Helping a former enemy, bringing another to justice, facing another minor enemy, and helping with a major find. Add to this Ramses' involvement in WWI, and the plot twists as always.
The plot does get a little confusing as right as you are invested in one set of problems, the Emersons leave all that behind to refocus on an entirely different set of problems. Be willing to jump with them - it all comes out all right in the end.
I've read and listened to this book many times, and will continue to do so.
    Real treat
You are within 5minutes completely in the story and that doesn't change until the last words are spoken.
Looking forward to the next book
    Fabulous!
I love this Author and Narrator! They have provided me with hours and weeks of entertainment! Well worth the listen!
    Another excellent listen!
This was a fun listen - some drama but a bit of relief from the previous book. The narration was as awesome as usual. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

    Publisher's Summary:
In this modern-day Hunt for Red October, an armed nuclear submarine is taken over and must be hunted down before its weapons are launched.
The USS Kentucky - a Trident ballistic missile submarine carrying a full complement of 192 nuclear warheads - sets out on a routine cruise. Not long after it reaches the open sea, however, the Kentucky receives a launch order. After receiving that launch order, it is cut off from all counter orders and disappears into the Pacific while it makes the eight-day transit to the launch site. What the Kentucky's crew doesn't know is that those launch orders didn't come from the US government.
Rogue elements within the Mossad have learned that Iran has developed its first nuclear weapon and, in ten days, will detonate it - and the target is Israel. The suspected weapon complex is too far underground for conventional weapons to harm it, and the only choice is a preemptive nuclear strike. With limited time, this rogue group initiates a long-planned operation called the Trident Deception: They'll transmit false orders and use a US nuclear submarine to launch the attack.
With only eight days before the Kentucky is in launch range and with the submarine cut off from any outside communication, one senior officer, the father of one of the officers aboard the submarine, must assemble and lead a team of attack submarines to find, intercept, and neutralize the Kentucky before it can unknowingly unleash a devastating nuclear attack.

    Good book
    Any additional comments?
Delivery of book was poor. It kept skipping sections of the narration. Very frustrating!
    Satisfying High Tension Thriller!
The godfather of submarine-based thrillers will always be Tom Clancy. "The Hunt For Red October," the gold standard. "The Trident Deception" provides no originality and often pipes many of the 21st century military thriller cliches we are all used to in this genre, but that's OK. This book also could have been considerably longer had the author chosen to fill out more back story detail in several areas including its nefarious plot, but chose wisely not to do so as it would have spoiled and bogged down the otherwise excellent pace that ramps to a "can't put it down" ending. I have a bit of quibble with the narration. Mr. Ganim simply didn't do it for me, his portrayal of the book's chief female character especially was just weird to me. Overall, bravo Mr. Campbell!
    A Terrific Debut
This is a new author and narrator for me. I understand this is Campbells first novel. The author is a retired submarine officer. This is a great first book; I could hardly put it book down. I think I have found a new author to follow.
The novel is about a U.S. Navy Trident Nuclear Submarine, the U.S.S. Kentucky. They are given orders to launch all twenty-four nuclear missiles at Iran. However, these orders are fraudulent and the communication equipment on the sub has been sabotaged to prevent a recall order. The Kentucky was in Hawaiian waters when it received its mission orders and must proceed westward to reach launch range. Meanwhile, on the surface, the plot has been discovered and a race to stop the Kentucky begins. On the submarine, some of the crew have misgivings about destroying an entire nation of 75 million people.
The book is well written, the pace is fast and filled with continuous action and suspense.

    Wonderful Story, Terrible Narration
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I struggled through this book because I love the story. I don't know if I can sit through it again.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Amelia was my favorite character. She is flawed but courageous and very smart.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Connor O'Brien?
Scott Brick, Norman Dietz, just about anyone but Connor O'Brien.
Was The Bone Collector worth the listening time?
If you love the story enough, yes.
    Any additional comments?
I waited a long time for an unabridged version to come out. Hoping they rethink and redo the narration, until then I am stuck with it.
    Great book, narrator is horrible
Absolutely the worst performance I have ever heard on audible. The story was compelling and I put up with the narrator to get the story but I can't believe this was approved.
    Worst narration I've ever heard
What disappointed you about The Bone Collector?
Narrator pathetic, dry, dull, monotone, destroyed great book. Couldn't get past first 5 minutes of listening.
What other book might you compare The Bone Collector to and why?
    None
Would you be willing to try another one of Connor O'Briens performances?
    NO
What character would you cut from The Bone Collector?
    Narrator
    Any additional comments?
    no
    wow TRULY HORRIBLE NARRATOR
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I wish I had just read the book, the narrator was so overacted.
Who was your favorite character and why?
    rhyme himself
Would you be willing to try another one of Connor O'Briens performances?
    no
Do you think The Bone Collector needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I was very happy to see other narrators for the other Lincoln Rhyme novels if they had the Connor O'Brien was the narrator for all of them I would have stopped at this book
    Any additional comments?
you really would be better off reading the book and then moving on to the other books, I just listened to the book again and could not even get through it to finish it this second time due to the narrator
    Read by a robot?
I'm not convinced an actual person narrated this book, it sounds more like some text to speech software was used. By far the worst narration I've ever heard.
Great story that I've been waiting for some time to hear. I should have waited a bit more I think.

LAPD Detective Harry Bosch seeks justice for the forgotten in this original story from #1 New York Times bestselling author Michael Connelly
An anonymous tip puts Bosch on a case that has remained unsolved for decades, the vicious stabbing of a teenage boy whose body was found in an abandoned Old Hollywood restaurant.
Cold cases are often the toughest: With no body, no murder scene, and no fingerprints, Bosch nevertheless gets lucky when DNA evidence from the murder weapon points to a known killer. But the DA insists that science alone is not enough - he needs the case to be bulletproof before he'll take it to court.
Determined to speak for those who can no longer speak for themselves, Bosch has one chance to wrench a confession out of a cold-blooded killer, or risk letting him walk free for good.
In this gripping, never-before-published story by "master of the crime thriller" (Huffington Post ) Michael Connelly, Detective Harry Bosch quenches his thirst for justice and shows why he is "one of the most popular and enduring figures in American crime fiction" (Chicago Tribune).

Good for a short Short Story by a Favorite Author
If you have someplace to go and need only a 45 minute listen, I would suggest that this audio-book is priced to buy, but not to use a credit. I listened during my commute this morning and found it well performed but not a full investigation by Harry Bosch. There is not much to figure out, it is just a good listen of how Harry solves the problem of getting a guilty criminal prosecuted on a 20+ year cold case when only DNA is available. Interesting, but forgettable.
If you are new to Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch, he is a wonderful detective character. I recommend reading the books in order.
Very short Bosch cold case story
I missed finding this Michael Connelly short story when it was published almost 3 years ago.The story shows once again the crime solving strength of Harry Bosh late in his LAPD career. Totally worthwhile!
    Wasted time and money.
I don't know why I chose a short story. I will not do that again.
    A Harry Bosch short story
This is a short story about LAPD detective Harry Bosch who is assigned a cold case after an anonymous tip names the murderer. The case is of the vicious stabbing of a teenage boy whose body was found in the abandoned Brown Derby, a famous Hollywood restaurant that was destroyed during the Riots. Bosch finds DNA evidence of the victim and the a convicted killer who is already in Prison for a similar crime but the ADA wants more evidence so Bosch continues his search for evidence. The story is a bit too short. Len Cariou does a good job narrating the short story.
    First worthless Harry Bosch story
    Any additional comments?
This is the first Harry Bosch story I thought was worthless. An anonymous tip breaks open a cold-case involving a couple of murders involving a switchblade used on gay men. No real twists or investigatory hurdles, just a straight line from A to B. Bechdel test: Fail. You know, it makes me realize that I didn't care for the last two Bosch books, "The Drop" and "The Black Box." The new Mickey Haller book "The Gods of Guilt" was great, among his best, so maybe Harry's character has run his course. Connelly keeps threatening to have a case featuring Bosch's daughter, maybe it's time.

    Kendra Elliot Keeps Delivering
I absolutely love how she ties all her characters and their various professions into cohesive yet unique stories. The stories just keep getting better and better and you end up caring deeply about the characters. More audible books please!
    Awful performer
Terrible inflection. Do authors not approve the performers? She had such great ones on the previous books in the series.
    Narrator's Chronic Mispronunciation Distracts
Would you try another book from Kendra Elliot and/or Tanya Eby?
Yes. I like the sound of Tanya Eby's voice, but I found her mispronunciations (the main character's last name, along with many other instances) of simple words extremely distracting.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I was actually a tad surprised at the twist!
Could you see Alone being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
    No.
    Any additional comments?
The dialogue is a bit hokey.
Fabulous narration for a GREAT story!
This was a total WIN for me for on both the story front and the narration. Tanya Eby is a fabulous narrator ~ I wish she'd done this whole series! There have been 4 stories in this series so far ~ Chilled, Hidden, Buried and Alone ~ and all 4 have had different narrators. That pretty much drives me crazy, lol, as we see cross over characters.
Dr. Victoria Peres is a forensic bone Doc ~ she's with the medical examiner when he's called out late to a chilling scene where 5 girls are dead, and 1 barely clings to life. She's appalled ~ and surprised when the first love her life shows up on scene, Seth Rutledge. She's surprised to find that he's trying for her retiring boss's job...and that he's going through a divorce fromt he woman he'd left her for so many years ago.
The detail of the crimes in Ms. Elliot's books are eerily real to read about ~ and her characterization is so life like you KNOW the people you're reading about. I loved the interaction between Seth and Victoria ~ it was believable and had you rooting for Seth, who'd done what he thought was the only right thing there was to do, and Victoria who's guard has never quite went down since their relationship was over.

    Provides thoughtful reflection
Initially, I became annoyed with Mollys constantly waffling back and forth Do I want to be a wife or not. Then after some reflection of changes I had made, I realized how difficult it is to go against cultural norms. Thank you Ms. Bowen for the lesson as well as an enjoyable reading experience.
    YOU KNOW ITS GREAT
When you are happy for a fictional character, you know its great. I was delighted with this one.
    good story
Loved it!! As usual, the story was interesting, unique and engaging. However, the author has (intentionally or unintentionally) made the perpetrator easy to figure out...usually the least talked about person in the story. although it is still a challenge to figure out the motive. love this series!!
    Nail biting, endearing and frustrating
The story continues to keep you guessing, laughing and sighing as Molly refuses to compromise her values, even when it frustrates Daniel and her friends. But the world feels like a better place every time. Rhys Bowen is truly a master craftsman.
    Always well done!
Being able to enjoy a story the entire way through is so nice! As usual, both the story and performance were excellent.

Molly doesnt entirely trust the offer. Hannan - an ambitious man - has his eye on a senate seat and intentions of taking Tammany Hall to get it.
When Hannan is found dead at the base of the cliffs that overlook the Atlantic, Mollys suspicions are quickly justified, and as much as she wants to keep her promise to Daniel that she wont do any more sleuthing now, there isnt much she can do once the chase is on. Rhys Bowens brilliant wit and charm are on full display in Hush Now, Dont You Cry, another outstanding addition to her Agatha and Anthony award-winning historical series.

    like this series
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The boyfriend now husband Daniel is so consistently overbearing that it detracts from this series. It would be so much better without his overbearing comments.
If youve listened to books by Rhys Bowen before, how does this one compare?
These books are a good series but the love interest detracts from the series.
Done with Series -Daniel destroyed it
I know this series has received rave reviews and I can understand it. But I am done with Molly Murphy. Too bad, because I really liked many of the characters in the series. I have also enjoyed the audio performance by Nicola Barber. This disappointment has nothing to do with her.
The main frustration for me has been the "evolving" relationship between Molly and Daniel. I almost gave up the series at "Oh Danny Boy" . However, I plugged on believing it might get better or Molly would come to her senses. No such luck. I'm sure men were much more like Daniel back then. However, fictional men for fictional heroines don't have to be. Here is a strong willed feisty heroine in love with a guy who doesn't seem to have any good qualities except a good job. Her increasingly simpering responses to the big Mama's boy are just not in character with her other qualities. The endless forced confrontations between the two, which always start with him yelling "Molly...", are tiresome. Her responses to him have made me think less of her as a heroine, not more. I have to say, I was disappointed in this book that Daniel actually recovered from pneumonia! I was hoping Bowen might give her a fresh start. I did initially purchase the next book in the series (In the Family Way) as I thought I'd come this far, I should finish the series. However, I returned it after listening for a couple chapters. No more.
Having said all this, Bowen's other series, Royal Spyness, is still delightfully refreshing and funny after seven books. The hero and heroine in that series are much better matched and believable. I hope it continues that way and I'd recommend that series. But as for Molly Murphy, I've enjoyed her wit and the various areas she has taken us to (sweatshops, suffragettes, Ireland, etc.), but I'm done.

Excellent, engaging performance, top notch story!
Fast Money is the second installment in the Shelby Nichols adventures series.
I am not a "psychic soccer mom" kind of guy. I like action, engaging, lost in the story real life nitty-gritty characters that can keep me absorbed for 9-11 hour flights. I like books I can listen to whilst driving that keep my mind focused instead of just another mindless song.
I started reading Colleen Helme's books when I stumbled upon Carrots, the first Shelby Nichols adventure, whilst stuck in my car in a downpour at a supermarket. The parallel got me involved, but the story got me committed. Since then I have read and enjoyed ALL of the Shelby Nichols adventures that up and coming author Ms. Helme has penned.
I started listening to them from Audible when they became available, and I have been pleasantly surprised and delighted that I did.
These stories and the entertainment I derive from them will remain long after the price is forgotten.
An audio performer can make or break a book. The voice we hear MUST be recognisable as the character we imagine, or all is lost, including interest, which will fast fade away and die. Fortunately, Wendy Tremont King IS Shelby Nichols incarnate, or at least her voice is, and that makes all the difference. Wendy does a 5 star job of performing in Fast Money. Her depictions of the other characters in the story, including the male mob boss Uncle Joey, the NOT love interest and hit man Ramos, and the Detective "Dimples". Her voice characterisations are understated, and that suits the performance admirably. It adds believability to the story. Colleen's writing and portrayal of the different personalities and mannerisms of the characters already make them utterly believable, and Wendy's portrayals only add to that panache.
It had been more than two years since I had read Fast Money, and I had actually forgotten a lot of the story, including the surprise and dramatic ending at the banquet by the time I got the Audible version and listened to it. I found myself laughing out loud, gasping at times, and generally so absorbed in the story that I actually at one point turned to the person in 6D next to me and asked, "Oh no! How is she going to get out of that?!" Fortunately, Ms. 6D was asleep at the time, and I quickly looked around to see if my gaff had been noticed.
