Well worth the credit!

I did enjoy the book. How do I get the next in the series?

Could not stop listening!!!

captivating. There are a few story lines happening at one time. The first two intertwine right away--the third kind of sneaks in. I was able to figure out how that third line would merge before it happened--but it still had me on the edge of my seat. It's a story of a serial killer in the making--what drives him--how his experience shaped his world view. It's creepy. Beware--it is the first of a series--and ends leaving much to be disclosed. I will definitely get the next book to see where things go.

How far would you go to protect the oneâs you love?

This book does not stop! From page one you are dumped into this poor girls tragedies. Just when you think that there is a shred of hope or light at the end of the tunnel there is another twist or turn that blows up. A complete psychological thriller and love story all woven together rarely turns out as good as this book manages to do! I felt like the first part of the quote in the introduction was absolutely a perfect description of the backdrop for this book. âLove and consume, devour, and destroy.â This is not your typical romance and I found it very satisfying and a great change of pace. Iâd recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different and needs a bit of something different than your happily ever after books.

LOVVVVVED IT!

I could not put this book down. Lots of suspense, murder, horror, and blood. This book isn't for the faint of heart. There is so much I want to share but I don't want to spoil it any of it for you- yes, it's that good. Shockey stuffed a lot of love and heartache into this book. I cried. Around Chapter 7 or so I was angry with the author- because of the rollercoaster of emotions. The writing is excellent and pulls you in and keeps you turning page after page. I finished this in one night. I highly recommend.

this book is sick, twisted, and demented and I like it! I don't know what the heck goes through Ms. Shockeys mind when she writes but I hope it keeps running in there. if your a fan of WTFs, you will love this book also.

A wonderful dark amd twisted story! The characters are so REAL. I cried, got angry and hoped right along with her. This author doesn't dissapoint!

Great read.

Don't waste your money

I could not even finish this one. The writing is simplistic and the characters are dull, flat, and boring. It was hard to work up an interest in any of them so I tapped out at about 40% into the book. Maybe I am wrong and it got really interesting in the second half, but i doubt it........

Good story line

The story had many twists and I enjoyed the way the suspense was carried out till the end.It's aGood suspense murder mystery.

The book read like it was written by a new author. There were many grammatical errors and missing words. The storyline was ok, but there was no depth.

a very enjoyable read

I really enjoyed listening to this book. From start to end I wanted to keep listening. The pace of the book kept consistant throughout. I liked the main character and the way her family story was told within the main story. I look forward to listening to more by this author.

Great start to a new series

I listened to the audio book version of this novel which I received in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first M A Comely book which also happens to be the first one in the Intention series. It's a good introduction to main characters Ellen and Brian, two ex police officers, now running their own PI business, and a promising start to a great new series.

I enjoyed the story-line, the pace of the novel and the writing. I have now purchased more of the author's books and look forward to reading them all.

While I found the book itself great, the narrator did get me confused a bit at first: she sounds older than 30-year-old main character Ellen, and I wasn't sure about Ellen's behaviour based purely on that. It was all good though once I heard Ellen's age mentioned in the story as her character made more sense.

A good debut to MA Comley's series

Two ex police officers turned private investigators are called upon to delve into the disappearance of Will Endersbe's wife. Has she been abducted? Killed? They set off and find themselves submerged in the actions of a barbaric individual.

This is a well paced investigatory story, the first of the series. I enjoyed getting to know the main characters(the partnership between Ellen and Brian, and the flawed relationship that Ellen and her brother,Jim, have with their mum). I will definitely look forward to seeing how the characters develop further during the series.

Brilliant

Excellent story. Narrator very good. Storyline is fast paced & has lots of things to keep you interested. I hated having to turn this off to talk to people!

I've bought kindle copy as well. I will read it but will listen to it again.

cliffhanger

I skipped a lot as I did not care for the writing style. At the end I find that it's a cliffhanger. So glad I skimmed through it and didn't waste much time.

Kept me interested

I like the book and the story line. I found some grammatical errors but overall it was a good read.

Things I wish the book talked more about:

1 - What happened to Phoebe's father when they left?

2 - What have the police been doing to catch them? Talk more about the investigation.

3 - How did Darryl become such a horrible person in the first place?

4 - As I think of more...I will revise this listing.

Overall it was a good read. The end said that Book 2 would be available on Aug. 17 but its now the 18th and I haven't found it. Author, please advise when this will be available.

Well written, lively.

No clue why the others bad reviews. Perhaps they didn't care for the ending. Perhaps they weren't familiar with DID, disassociated identity disorder. If one works in the mental health field, this is a mental health diagnosis.

It clearly did keep my interest and i absolutely do recommend this be read.

Torture and cruelty abound

The description of the book had me thinking of some avenging force for justice. What I found was a demented and tortured main character and his allies and enemies. A history of Satan worship, blood sacrifice, murder and deviant sexual behaviors including necrophilia. It has its moments but I felt it was lacking. I couldn't connect to the characters and have any empathy for them or their journey through the story. I applaud anyone who writes and gets published however this story was not one for me. Fluid Characters

This book was a little confusing for me. At the beginning, I felt that ai had a good sense of who the characters were and their motivations. As the story went on though, the characters changed, but not in a developmental way. It was difficult to really tell what a character was like and what his or her true motivations were, so in the end, I did not really understand the basic point of the story.

I didn't care for the narrator's voice for the main character, Luther, because it fed into a negative stereotype a little, but other than that, the narrator did a great job with the various characters in the book and making each one unique.

Son like Father

This book is a very dark and horrific psychological thriller. It explains the demented bullied youth of Luther as well as some satanic rituals. Worth the short listen. Superb short psychological thriller d(.)b

Amazing SHORT thriller, it was fast paced and a reality of this cruel world () When I read the description I found it intriguing. While listening I couldn't help feeling guilt and sorry for the poor kid with mental disabilities. Living in Miami there's always advertising against bullying but nothing gets done. Same with domestic violence.
