The final kicker comes when her hairdresser goes on vacation to Fiji, leaving Ruth to look like Dickens' Miss Havisham. A crazy kaleidoscope of characters such as the uptight gallery owner, Napoleon Prinn; half-baked Dimple Dent, writer of fortune-cookie wisdom; Alva Hernandez, octogenarian newspaper boy; and Monk, the amorous town caterer, add to the chaos in the shadow of Finny's nose until Ruth finds herself in the ultimate do-or-die situation.

    Interesting Storyline.
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast.
The opening scene of finding a body in the fountain of the town square quickly caught my attention. This book was a rather interesting mystery book as it stuck in religion along with many other elements. Finnys Nose is a rather interesting town I am not really a fan of the name. The main character, Ruth, seems to have a lot going on in her life when we meet her. But she also seemed to be getting into everyone elses business.
This book was not really the type of book that I would normally read. The narrator was alright, but at times talked a little too slow, thankfully audible has a speed feature. Maddison Thyme overall was a good narrator and was easy to follow. Her multiple voices brought the story to life.
There are two other books in the series, it will be interesting to see where the story goes from here.
Trouble Up Finny's Nose: Book 1
What did you love best about Trouble Up Finny's Nose?
Interaction between characters. There is a lot of dialogue
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I don't think it was written to be edge of your seat. This is Book 1 in a series, so there's plenty of character development.
Have you listened to any of Maddison Thymes other performances before? How does this one compare?
    I haven't.
If you could rename Trouble Up Finny's Nose, what would you call it?
Sorry, I always choke on this question.
    Any additional comments?
This series is touted as Christian fiction. I've always shied away from books described thusly. However, in this case I wasn't put off by that. There are several passages revolving around the character's faith directly, but not overwhelmingly so.
I appreciate being able to listen to your efforts. Thank you. And I was also sent Audible copies of two other books by Dana Mentink.
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBlast dot com."
Can we say monotone!! Worst narrator.
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
    No!
If youve listened to books by Dana Mentink before, how does this one compare?
First time listening and probably last time with this narrator.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Maddison Thyme?
Kate Rudd, Tanya Eby or Renee Raudman.

    AGATHIA ANNIE'S AT IT AGAIN!
I don't think that any wedding in this family is ever going to go without drama. I love the way Annie always goes into her investigative role when there is a mishap! This book didn't disappoint me. She is quite the feisty woman. She seems to be fearless when her nose smells something wrong. I get a real kick out of Shiela. I'd love to see her one day! When Fiona suddenly dies in a funeral home......well, something is awry. Annie goes from one character to another trying to check them off. I really love the way Janice writes a story. It's full of suppense, love and Christianity! This book won't disappoint anyone. Naturally she solves the murder just before her second daughter is about to walk down the isle. Sounds very familiar to her other daughter. These are light, easy reads that will tickle you, bring on a tear or two and generally entertain you. I loved this book and couldn't wait to get on to #4.
and I have loved every one of them
I have read all of the books out currently in the Bridal Mayhem series, and I have loved every one of them. I loved having the main character(s) in my age group (let's just say mature), and I could relate to many of the situations and thoughts going through Annie's head. The sense of humor in these books pulled me right in. Annie has a wonderfully close relationship with her children and friends, and loves her husband Warren to pieces. Many times she feels humbled by the faith her friend Sheila displays. These books have both a wedding theme (hence the name of the series) and a mystery going on so, add Annie's investigative skills into the mix. These are sweet clean reads, with a firm message of God's grace. I can barely wait for book six to come out, good thing it is just days away.

Is new love sweet enough to overcome the pain of the past and the uncertainty of the future?
Sweetened with Honey is the third book in the Farm Fresh Romance series. This Christian romance series follows the adventures, romantic and otherwise, of a group of young women who purchase an old farm together in northern Idaho to grow their own organic food and prove to those around them that they can make a difference. These farm romance novels are stories of farm life with a focus on local food. The Farm Fresh Romance series doesn't pad the issues nor preach about them, but allows the characters the freedom to grapple with environmentalism and sustainability as believers.

Book 3 of this 5 stars series is 5 stars!
If you could sum up Sweetened with Honey in three words, what would they be?
Sweetened with Honey is truly another Wholesome, Real Christian romance story by Valerie Comer!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweetened with Honey?
I am impressed by how Valerie's realistic Christian storytelling of the romance of Sierra and Gabe shares a beautiful journey of finding and holding fast to true love amidst flaws and struggles!
What about Becky Doughtys performance did you like?
Becky amazingly continues to deliver such a realistic performance of Valerie's books through her narrations!
If you could take any character from Sweetened with Honey out to dinner, who would it be and why?
I would invite Sierra and Gabe to dinner to express my admiration for how through sharing their story they have given me another testament of how God works in our lives through His word, His supportive presence, and His children, our brothers and sisters, who He channels His love through!
    Any additional comments?
I highly recommend Valerie Comer's books!
    Loving this series!
If you could take any character from Sweetened with Honey out to dinner, who would it be and why?
The interactions of the three main girls in the series - Jo, Claire, and Sierra - are so well-written! I love the way they do community and how they are always willing to bring more people into their circle! Claire has been my favorite character throughout this series. I really appreciate her depth and the humility she shows in her faith. I also love the way she loves her friends. She shows her love for them by caring more about their spiritual well-being than anything else, and I love that! I would love to sit down for a chat with her!
    Any additional comments?
While I love this series, and this book was good, I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first two.

    Publisher's Summary:
On April ninth, thousands of people wake from the same dream, visits from angels instructing them to build a biblical ark in their front yards or the town square or little league field - anywhere - to prepare for the worst natural disaster to strike the world since the days of Noah. A widowed California high school teacher risks everything to build a boat in the 60 days she is given. A homeless self-proclaimed prophet of God preaches across Boston's waterfront, unaware that he is not alone in his visions. A young priest is torn between the signs around him and the skepticism of his church. In the end only 30 people may board each boat. As the world slowly comes to grips with events unfolding around them, they must weigh their own faith in the exceptional and identical visions of so many people. The skies are clear, without a hint of rain. But if the dreams are true, something terrible is looming on the horizon.

    Old School Suspense/Thriller
I don't usually listen to this genre, but a friend suggested I give it a try. I don't want to give anything away, so all I'll say is that this is more of an "old school suspense/thriller". If you are a high-speed action junky, this is not the book for you. If, however, you like "old school" Hitchcock type thrillers with a religious angle, you will really enjoy Margaret's Ark. I surely did.
    Beautiful Characters. Really challenging theme.
What if God asked you to do the impossible?
What if you did absolutely everything right, but still never got the reward you were hoping for in life? Where would your faith be then?
For me, one of the strongest challenges Daniel G. Keohane brings to light in this book is whether or not we truly do what is right because it's right, or do we always have in the back of our minds the thought that surely we will get rewarded for this somehow. But what if our sacrifices in life, only lead us to opportunities to sacrifice even more? Will we still do what is right?
I love the characters developed in this story. People from so many cultures and backgrounds, each struggling with their own messed up lives. Daniel G. Keohane does a beautiful job of taking us inside their struggles to see the heart of the person.
Caroline Miller captured well the tone, emotions and attitudes of the hugely varying characters.
I feel like I've been on an really emotional journey, yet I'm somewhat sad to leave it behind and move on.
    Couldn't finish it
The author in exchange for my review gave me an audio copy of this book.. I tried to like it.. I tried to ignore the fact that Moses, not Noah, was mentioned as being impressed by God to build an ark not far into the book. I tried to get over the fact that God said He would never again destroy the earth by water and gave us rainbows to mark that covenant... After all fiction is fiction.... But I could not eventually get past the fact that I just flat did not like this book and going farther into it put me to sleep.. Sorry... Just being honest.. Better luck next time!
    Margarets Ark
Caroline Miller was a fine narrator but I just couldn't finish this one.Everyone is listening to angels and building arks....I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher
    I couldn't finish it either
Like the other person that reviewed this book, I also couldn't finish it.

    Language: English
    Release date: 12-03-15
    Publisher: Recorded Books
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 2 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Religious & Inspirational
    Publisher's Summary:
Deftly combining fiction and history, Rosey Dow weaves together a murder mystery that hinges on events surrounding the landmark Scopes evolution trial.
Someone is killing the unwanted in the small town of Dayton, Tennessee. As Deputy Sheriff Trent Tyson trails the murderer, his town erupts in a storm of publicity as Clarence Darrow changes the face of American education.
    Members Reviews:
    Enjoyable, if predictable
The premise of the book is actually very interesting. The mystery aspect was well-thought and kept me guessing throughout the story.
However, the over-used idea that even the most adamant atheist will convert to Christianity given enough proof and fervent prayer was extremely predictable.
It seemed also that the author's only understanding of evolutionary theory came from Answers in Genesis, which she quotes often in the appendix.
The author did rather skillfully weave two very different stories together in such a way that the interplay worked very well. It would, however, have been nice to read a Christian novel that didn't have the loose ends tied in a big, fat bow.
I give the historical mystery aspect 5 stars. The Christian argument against evolution wasn't very compelling, in my opinion, and the conversion theme was a bit grating: 1 star. Hence, the overall 3 star rating.
    Behind Inherit the Wind
I was born in a little Tennessee town very similar to Dayton, Tennessee and returned there almost every summer after moving north at the mature age of 2. The Scopes Trial was part of the history I was taught in the 50's, I read "Inherit the Wind" at some time during either high school or college and later had a small part in a small Indiana town production of "Inherit the Wind".
I can picture the townspeople reacting much the way they are portrayed by Rosie Dow. The neighborhood grapevine is instant and can extend throughout the county at the drop of grannie's hanky. I speak from personal experience and still do not understand how an aunt 20 miles away can know what you did in town before you arrive at their house - pre-telephone. Rosie Dow does a magnificent job of portraying the various eccentric characters you find in every small town. From the town doctor to the woman who can cook a possum and you would swear it is rib eye steak.
Passing away behind a locked door is written about by authors all the time but how can this happen without a clue in a town where there are no secrets. Learn the history of the Scopes Trial and solve the mysterious murders of Dayton, Tennessee.
A serial killer stalks Dayton during the Scopes "Monkey" Trial
I did my dissertation on the Scopes "Monkey" Trial, so I had no problems passing the quiz on the back of "Reaping the Whirlwind: A Trent Tyson Historical Mystery." I am overly familiar with the details of the trial and the various incidents that Rosey Dow works into her story, and have visited Dayton several times. Of course, my interest in reading "Reaping the Whirlwind" is because of my interest in the bizarre-yet-true trial of John Thomas Scopes, and my judgment of the book ends up being more from that perspective than from that of the mystery elements.
The story begins in Dayton, Tennessee on a rainy Monday evening in the spring of 1925 when the chess game between Deputy Sheriff Trent Tyson and Dr. Adam St. Clair is interrupted by a concerned neighbor calls to say that Mrs.

I love all of Janette Oke books
I love all of Janette Oke books. They are such a breath of fresh air. I love the challenges the characters face and how they turn to God for guidance. I lost my husband almost two years ago. I prayed for help in finding peace. I believe Jannette Oke was sent to me. I have found so much peace by reading her books. Thank you Jannette Oke.
    Wonderful!!
Once again Janette Oke has come through with a terrific and touching story. Many years ago I read her Love Comes Softly series and was so sad for it to end. But in her own elegant way, Janette Oke has offered her readers a continuing story of Clark and Marty and their family. For me, it's like a visit from old friends, "catching up" on life. For my daughter, who is new to Janette Oke, it has been an exciting adventure back in time to learn how so many things were very different, but the most important things in life are so very much the same: Faith, Love and Famiy! Thank you, Mrs Oke for your beautiful, inspiring stories!!
    Love!!
Love all Janette Oke books! This didn't disappoint!!

    Love her writings... great stories

I am the narrator of the audio version of "Christmas Wonders" so I know the book very well.
I found myself really enjoying the way the story unfolds. Also, I had to stop recording several times during the production of the audio book as I kept getting choked up over the beauty of the relationships and message of the story.

Glad I didn't pay 19.95 at book store for it!!!
    Good feel good book
I love all Christmas books. This was a good book.
If you believe in miracles you will love this book.
Christmas Wonders by Robyn Buttars is a heartwarming feel good story addressing the true meaning of Christmas, and keeping Christ in Christmas. The story centers around a 9 year old boy, Luke, and his father moving into a small town during the holiday season. The writing and character descriptions are real, poetic and wraps the reader into this surrounding. As the characters moved around their town stores and homes, I too was moving with them. It is a perfect holiday story for teens and adults.
If you believe in miracles you will love this book. I found my own Christmas wonder when the twist at the end was revealed. Whole hardheartedly recommend.
    Fantastic Christmas Story!!
It's 1965 and 9-year-old Luke and his father have just moved to a new town. His mother died five years earlier. Luke's father is busy working as a cobbler so Luke has time to explore the town and meet the other shop owners in their area. He's not very familiar with Christmas since he and his father don't celebrate it. He learns about the town's tradition of Christmas Wonders and his questions lead up to the best Christmas Wonder of all!
This book is fantastic!! I felt sorry for Luke at first. His father sent him to his first day of school by himself, which seemed weird to me (and the principal). He's left by himself a lot since his father is busy working and trying to get past the grief of losing his wife. Luke is just a normal kid but he makes a huge impact on those around him. I felt such love for him as those things were pointed out. He starts a quest which leads to a tear-jerking discovery. There are some great side characters who start out teaching him and are amazed at what they end up learning from him.
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end! If you're looking for a book that focuses on the true meaning of Christmas, then this is one you will want to read. I'm excited to share it with my family and this will be a treasure for many years to come!
I received a copy of this book to review. My opinion is 100% my own.
