Loving the victims of abortion.

Love, love this book. As a strong proponent for life, with many children myself, I found myself sympathizing with both of the characters; the post-abortive woman and the one struggling to accept her infertility. I absolutely love the transparency that comes through and the showcase of God's glory in grace and mercy that is displayed throughout. Several times, I found myself praying, along with Jonica for those in the story, then changing the prayers to fit the real life characters that dot my own world. As a bonus, I was reminded of the power of prayer as the story came to a close. Very well done. Feeling like I need to buy several copies to hand out at the abortion clinic and the local Crisis Pregnancy Outreach. Absolutely beautiful and applicable to anyone facing disappointment or regret and shame.

Heartfelt words of encouragement!

In listening to this book I was very touched by the characters and their interaction. Knowing from my own past experience of how God can cause people 's paths to cross this book is very believable. Joy did an awesome job of sharing her heart! Her post script was enjoyed and appreciated. What a wonderful way to reach out to those that are hurting, no matter their need, and to give them a loving ray of hope!!! So much encouragement!

For the most part the speaker helped to define the different characters quite well , but I had a little difficulty with her voice patterns. All in in I enjoyed the book & the speaker.

Excellent Read

Billy Coffey is an outstanding storyteller. His writing enables me to see his characters clearly and picture their life events with all the emotions they experience.

Life has not been the same for Allie Granderson since her mom disappeared during the tornado that swept through town a year and a half ago. All that was found was one of her pink tennis shoes. Her daddy was not the same either. He goes into the bedroom, closes the door and comes out a different man after he drinks enough to pull down a curtain to separate him from his sorrow.

Christmas is almost upon them when the wind comes up during the night and carries away the plastic Virgin Mary statue set up in Allie's yard. Jesus and Joseph are all that remain. Allie believes that she must find the statue of Mary and bring it home. She somehow thinks if she finds the statue, she will find her own mom as well. Her best friend Zack

and her dog Samwise accompany her on the search that winds up in the dark woods.

This is one of the best books I've read this year. The characters are well developed and the plot is suspenseful. Values of loyalty and courage are explored. I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of a well written story. I have only praise for this story.

Fantastic story! Highly recommended.

Excellent story about two children, with a dog, who dash off into the woods on a search without any thought to consequences--just as children are wont to do. The story is gripping. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse for them, things got worse!

In the Heart of the Dark Wood follows When Mockingbirds Sing, although it isn't necessary to have read the first book. Billy Coffey's writing is superb, as always.

I received a free audiobook version of Redeeming Reputation from George McVey in return for an honest review!

As soon as the audiobook started, I was hooked! The rich deep western voice was like a mothers melody to me! I was instantly transported and the words of this wonderful story came alive for me!

This is the tale of a preacher on his way west. He comes into trouble on the train and needs to get off to answer questions for the local Sheriff. He grabs his gear and horse knowing he wont be able to continue on this train. He rides hard to the next town where hes meeting his Grandpa so they wont miss each other and trials and temptations push his human limits. He is confronted with his own weakness and must turn to God often to reign in his flesh and give it all to God! The rest of the story takes place in the town where nothing is easy and salvation is a gift of God! George McVey uses his knowledge and experience as a retired preacher to tell this beautiful tale of Gods redemption and love for all men. George is a new author for me, but if this book is any indication, I will be a faithful reader of both his fiction and nonfiction books!

It is so sad when good people encounter very bad people. They change our life in so many ways. It is bad enough that young girls brave the world alone without family. Then have a bully come into it and try to break her. God does take care of his own!

One of my favorites was James' description of his housemates' cooking, as well as what kind of 'food' they brought back from a recent hunting trip! :)

I really liked the unexpected humor sprinkled throughout this story. Especially encouraging are the uplifting Scripture verses that are some of my personal favorites and have inspired me to dig deeper into the Bible.

If I had only paid more attention....

What disappointed you about The Proof?

The dogmatic Christian preaching that wound it's way through the book. My own fault however, as I failed to read the publishing company source, which turns out to be a Christian publisher.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, it's just not what I expected.

Has The Proof turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not at all.

What aspect of P.J. Ochlans performance would you have changed?

Not much. He did a fine job. Good narration, for what it was.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Proof?

The final scene is gratutitous, IMHO.

Any additional comments?

Listener be ware. Evangelical material here! That said, the basic precept of the book, and it's narration, are pretty damn good. I just don't personally need the preaching, but if you are into that, you likely will enjoy this offering.

Be warned: This is a Christian novel

What disappointed you about The Proof?

When I chose it it sounded good and there was nothing in the information from Audible to tell me this was a Christian novel. I would not have spent a credit if I had known.

This is a puff piece for Christianity cloaked in a hunt for archeological antiquity and just to drive the cliche home, in the end there is a grand conversion by the main character. To add insult to injury the narrators Italian accent is ready made to a Disney cartoon. I wish that Audible would create a separate catagory for these axe grinding books.
