    Great to do together :-)
I've loved the Lolli and the Lollipop and Lolli and the Thank You Tree adventures and it was great to have further adventures for me and our 4 year old son to do together. These adventures are fun for the imagination but great calm time too in a hectic world. It's a really good age to do these adventures as our son loves using his imagination and stories so hopefully getting him introduced to concepts before they're a problem can help prepare the way for later.
This set includes 1) Lolli and the Talking Books introduces Liquorice and jealousy as well as books who need to grow in confidence and self-belief to become books in the real word, 2) Lolli and the Chocolate Tree shows you a wand that helps get rid of negative feelings to help you relax and then finding a way to be brave and save the chocolate tree, 3) Lolli and the Wind Maze lets you know that it's ok to be scared, ok to make wrong choices and ok not to always win but it is good to keep trying so that you can reach your goal.
Three incredibly fun and great learning adventures
What an absolute joy to continue on with Lolliâs guided meditations for kids. The kids think meditation is fun now rather than being a âdirtyâ word. They look forward to each new adventure and are very accepting of anywhere Lolli takes them. This time she definitely does not disappoint. Three new adventures even more clever than the original six we have already read in other books. Lolli and the Talking books is a wonderful adventure encouraging the children to write their own stories. We love the drawing cherubs in this meditation too! Lolli and the Chocolate Tree had them imagining they were up against Spike a greedy armadillo.

A book - this is not!
It was a reading of silly words in an awful monotone - do not buy. I'm asking audible for my money back!
    Too short and quickly read
The idea is good, but unfortunately cannot be even be classified as a story. It is a collection of random sentences aimed to perhaps inspire children but was read too fast and without connection. Very disappointing.

    just perfect!
a clever and sweet story both for children and grown ups. Nice illustration of characteristics of autism.
    Entertaining & interesting
My grandson & I listen to this on our trip bring him back home. Loved it as it kept us entertained with a great story with some parts that made us chuckle. My grandson said he cant wait for the second book :). I thought it displayed the true feelings of kids and how they may interact with others.
    A good read.
This is a story of a young man who loves animals. What makes it a special story is that "Bat", the main character, has autism. His autism is never directly addressed or discussed, it is just part of who he is. The extra interesting part is that the story is being told from Bat's point of view. You experience his thoughts and reactions to the world going on around him. This book is an opportunity for those who are not on the spectrum to catch a glimpse of the internal world of someone who is. Also an opportunity for those on the spectrum to meet a character that they may identify with.
    Ok for very young kids
What disappointed you about A Boy Called Bat?
    Not really any humor
Has A Boy Called Bat put you off other books in this genre?
I will need to search harder for book for my children
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narration was ok but took a while to warm to the voice
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from A Boy Called Bat?
The story never really went anywhere
    Any additional comments?
I was looking for a book for a car journey so needed to be child friendly for my kids.
This book just seems to exist and not do anything - it is simply a story, quite boring infact

    Following LULU
My first grade class discovered LuLu and went wild over her antics. We read the first two books and everyone was anxious for the next one to come out. Sadly it didn't reach our room until the end of the school year. But firstie after firstie showed the book to their parents on the last day of school, and ask for it so they could read it over the summer. Now that shows their love and enjoyment of the character. Judith Viorst has a real winner on her hands. The illustrations are fun and fit the outrageous little girl who is a force to be reckoned with. The "Mysterious Mission" does not disappoint as LuLu meets her new baby sitter. Head strong LuLu finally meets her match and I loved every minute of it.
    Lulu books are student favorites
This is the least favorite of the Lulu series for my first and second grade classes. The Brontosaurus book is definitely what they adore. A suggestion: I censor a word or two here and there that a parent might find offensive for young children. Would like to see this author send Lulu to space since she proposed this possibility at the end of her second book. Could be very funny IMO.
Entertaining for 2nd grade book club
We read this for book club and the kids enjoyed it. The plot twist was the best part. I would have preferred if the word stupid was not used.

    Publisher's Summary:
Growing up with God is the story of Maria and Lucas, two best friends who are on the journey of discovering themselves in the very normal, but also epic journey of hearing from God's heart. And not in 20 years as an adult; she can pursue her acting career now! The problem is, with every step, something seems to stand in her way.

    Five Stars
    Awesome
    Whole series review
Doma Publishing's Wizard of Oz collection has taken me several years to read with my son at bedtime. It was interesting revisiting the texts that I read swiftly through my youth, as I was about his age when I read them and remembered little beyond some of the characters that don't appear in any of the books. I picked up a copy of this version since, for 99c, I could have the complete series along with "All the original artwork by the great illustrator W.W. Denslow (over 1,000 classic illustrations)", and to read the complete 14-book text at bedtime with all original color illustrations on my Kindle Fire knowing that there would be cross-linked tables of contents and no layout issues, it was worth my buck rather than taking them all out of the library. We read these books before bed at home and under the stars by a campfire in the forest, in a hotel in Montreal and in a seaside cottage in Nova Scotia, on a boat and in a car. We read it everywhere, thanks to the Kindle's mobility.
You may be reading this review on one of the individual pages for the original books on Goodreads or Amazon, and if so, all I did was cross-link the books along with the correct dates we read the original texts. The only book I did not cross-link with original dates was the Woggle-bug book, which if you know, is short. Instead, I counted that final book as the review for Doma's Kindle version. You may notice that some books have longer reading spans â probably for two reasons. One, I traded off reading with my wife sometimes, and two, sometimes we needed a little Baum break and read some other books. It did get a little old sometimes, and there are fourteen books totaling 3500 pages in their original library printing.
The first thing I think is worth mentioning is that when I first read these books, it was as a child would read them. I remember them being repetitive but familiar. Comforting and revealing. An antiquated adventure, but a serial adventure with recurring characters unparalleled in any other literature. As an adult with an MA in literature (and soon and MFA in fiction), I am actually somewhat unimpressed with the series. Baum wrote a whimsical set of tales, but they are torturously repetitive and would be easy to plug-and-play by replacing characters and moments with a computer to make an entirely new book. But, they are children's books, and we are completely enthralled and comforted by the familiar.

My son has already read part of this series so I know he will enjoy it for Christmas. Iâm disappointed that this is one all inclusive book. It was advertised as the complete set so I assumed I was getting all four individual books. The price point isnât right for one big book, in my opinion.

"The Secret Garden" is a classic of English children's literature. Mary Lennox is a troubled, sickly, and unloved 10-year-old girl born in India to selfish, wealthy British parents. However there is a cholera epidemic in India which kills Mary's parents and all the servants. She is sent to Yorkshire, to live with her reclusive and embittered Uncle Archibald Craven.
At first, Mary is her usual self, sour and rude, disliking her uncle's large house, the people, and, most of all, the vast stretch of moor, which seems scrubby and grey after the winter. With time she comes to enjoy the company of Martha, a good-natured maid, Ben Weatherstaff the gardener, and a friendly Robin who soon becomes a very close friend. Her appetite increases and she grows stronger as she plays by herself on the moor. She starts to search for the Secret Garden she heard about in a story.

Love the reading performance by Helen StaIner
Helens reading of this book with her true to life Yorkshire accent makes all the difference in the world.
This wonderful coming of age story highlights the beauty and magic of Gods created world and that he is still creating.
    This is the best version
    Any additional comments?
This version has the best narrator. It's just the right ambience for this kind of story.
The story isn't dramatic. Nothing deep. What's special is the story's presence, it's virtue is this, your listening and before you realize it's like your just at ease relaxed. If I want to wake up I'll go to Les miserables if I want to turn off I'll go to the secret garden.
Just keep this in mind and I beleive you'll love it, especially this narration.
(small comment she does go fast I guess that's why it's 6 hrs unabridged not 8)
