Pretty good addition to the series :)

3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good addition to the series. I actually liked Aubrey and Zack (Riff) more in this story that their main story and we get to see them have some good times together now that they've decided to be together. I will say that Aubrey's brother is cool but her parents are horrible and I hated what her father tried doing. There were some issues they still need to deal with in this story but it's sweet and very touching and I enjoyed it a lot...especially the ending. :D

* note - The book was from both Aubrey and Riff's PoVs and there were 2 narrators, a female for Aubrey's PoV and a male for Riff's PoV. Both narrators did a good job in the narration.

Easy Reader for learners of Italian - Medium Level. Translated from the original story The Ducati Girl - Family Affair.

Please note: This audiobook is in Italian.

Difficult book for basic Italian

Any additional comments?

I speak beginner level Italian. I understood most of the words but it was difficult to understand the words in context. It is a shame because I really want to listen to Italian while commuting.

Members Reviews:

Not worth the price of a full credit

I had a hard time finishing this book. The author wrote the book in first person narration jumping from Matt to Bryn's point of view frequently. The voices of the two narrators became irritating after about 20 minutes. The main heroine was a total idiot who supposedly looked like Angelina Jolie, but had the self confidence and street smarts of a twelve year old, but her love struck boss wanted her to partner with him in running the vineyard?? If you get this book for $4.95 or less, it's okay, but definitely not worth the price of a full credit.

Ok Book

I like the storyline in this book but there's some romance that begins a little over half way through the book. The heroine gets on my nerves a little bit. She calls the hero spoiled quite a bit but she spoiled too. Maybe not with monetary things but things always have to be her way. I'm going to get the third book in the series mainly because I really dislike not finishing a series and getting a conclusion.

The narration is good.

Here comes the bride

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes because it's a feel good book! It has it all.....love, laughter, sexual tension, friendship, edict, mystery, jealousy, misunderstanding. Suspense!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Aiden because he was the first one to show his true feelings. He put himself out there and he was always trying to make Lilly happy and safe. Most alpha male characters don't let down there guards. It was a nice change!

My other favorite character Aunt Viola because she was sassy, loving and supportive and a happy horny drunk? I loved how she kept love alive between her and Uncle Liam.

Have you listened to any of Craig Jessen and April Grace Lowe s other performances before? How does this one compare?

They were very good in comparison to other authors I have read. What really makes this story performance was the directing or editing process because it felt like the narrators were in the same room reading and playing against each other. You could feel it more depth during the love scenes it made them more alive.

Any additional comments?

I couldn't wait for book 3

Great!

Thus far, this is my favorite story. I can't wait to listen the complete series.

Just Average

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Just needed the peak to last longer

What aspect of Will Lewiss performance would you have changed?

I don't know, but he made me laugh when he read the parts of the women. Still LOL at the thought.

Do you think A Forever Kind of Love needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I wouldn't say it NEEDS a follow-up book. But if it were to have a follow-up book, the PLOT needs to last longer or their should be several peaks.

Members Reviews:

Couldn't finish it!

What would have made The Texas Christmas Gift better?

In all my years of listening, this is only the second time I couldn't finish a book. The narration is awful. Perhaps if she wasn't trying to hard to have a southern accent, she may be okay, but after giving it several tries, I have to delete.

Title: Saving Saffron Sweeting

Author: Pauline Wiles

Narrator: Lesley Parkin

Format: Unabridged

Length: 10 hrs and 6 mins

Language: English

Release date: 11-26-13

Publisher: Pauline Wiles

Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 20 votes

Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Publisher's Summary:

Grace Palmer's British friends all think she's living the American Dream. But her design business is floundering and when she discovers her husband is cheating with her best client, she panics and flees home to England.

The tranquil village of Saffron Sweeting appears to be a good place for Grace to lick her wounds, but the community is battling its own changes. Reluctantly, Grace finds herself helping her new neighbours as they struggle to adjust and save their businesses. However, not everyone has the same opinion on what's good for the village.

The charismatic new man in her life may have one speculative eye on Grace, but the other is firmly on profit. How will she navigate the tricky path between her home and her happiness?

With gentle humour and generous helpings of British tea and cake, Saving Saffron Sweeting explores one woman's need to define herself through her career and community, before she can figure out who should be by her side.

Members Reviews:

A really fun read!

Have you ever wanted to run away from your troubles to some idyllic small town where folks will befriend you and value you for your unique skills?? Well, that's basically what happens when Grace flees back home to the UK after 4 years of living in California with her hubby, whom she's found has cheated on her.

Grace lands in the town of Saffron Sweeting, a small village outside Cambridge where many US biotech companies are relocating. Her knowledge of Americans from her time abroad comes in handy, helping the locals make their businesses more Yank-friendly, while also helping Grace get some of her confidence back.

As an American who has been an expat myself living in a British territory, I really liked all the British terminology, discussion of UK treats, and the discussions of Brits'/Yanks' different personalities/mannerisms. A reallly well-done, debut novel.

[Note - if you avoid self-pubbed/indie/small press books because you think they are chock-full of typo and formatting problems, I just want to add that I didn't notice a single typo in this book. It's well written and beautifully edited!]

Reads Like a Hallmark Movie

If you're a fan of Hallmark movies, you might like this book. The writer is good at phrasing and punctuation, and I appreciate that. It's getting pretty rare. The description of British customs and phrasing was fun. And I always like descriptions of small English towns. But the plot dragged after awhile. The main character discovered that her husband had cheated on her and moved back to England on impulse. She settled in a small town she hadn't even heard of before. There she proceeded to find ways to help her new town financially. She didn't volunteer these ideas, but people pleaded for her help. That seemed a bit odd. Small-town people don't usually plead for outsider help, especially from a young outsider. And I got tired of the main character's brilliance at identifying ways to help her new town while still showing complete denseness concerning her own life.

A well-written, witty, and entertaining read.

As a British expat living in the United States, this reader found "Saving Saffron Sweeting" a delightful tale of of trans-Atlantic relationships. Grace is trying to work out on which side of the ocean she should be and who she should be with: her less-than-perfect husband or a smooth, new love.

Title: Some Enchanted Season

Author: Patricia Burroughs

Narrator: Katina Kalin

Format: Unabridged

Length: 6 hrs and 10 mins

Language: English

Release date: 11-25-13

Publisher: Audible Studios

Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 3 votes

Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Publisher's Summary:

Are you ready for some football? Then you're ready for Some Enchanted Season. Kevyn Llewellyn needs a god. She must have exactly the right model for Darius: Warrior-God of the Gray Planet, or she'll lose the contract to illustrate the rest of the series. When she sees him - none other than NFL football player Rusty Rivers - she does the absolutely logical thing: she kidnaps him. Or rescues himit depends on whom you're asking.

Rusty Rivers is no god. He's the kind of guy who's squandered every opportunity from the Redskins to the Cardinals, while Kevyn's had to fight for every chance to prove herself as a cover artist for fantasy novels. His struggles have been broadcast across the sports pages, while she keeps hers buried deep. They're as different as meteor and moonbeam, with nothing apparent in common. In this doomed, yet enchanted, football season, dare they hope something magical can happen that will last forever?

Editorial Reviews:

The syrupy and alluring delivery of veteran performer Katina Kalin puts any concerns you might be dealing with in the real world completely out of mind as you get familiar with the steamy romance and excitement found in Some Enchanted Season. While Kevyn Llewellyn is struggling as a cover artist for fantasy novels, a seemingly unrelated Rusty Rivers has found similar roadblocks as a professional football player. Uncork a bottle of chardonnay, tuck in the little ones, and then set yourself up for a cozy night as Kevyn and Rusty's outwardly disparate paths inevitably cross leading listeners to a shivering climax.

Members Reviews:

Football and romance, two of my favorite things!

She's an artist with a painful secret. He's a football player with an embarrassing past. This story is both fun and poignant, and the reader did a wonderful job of expressing both.
