Love this Author and her style of writing

What made the experience of listening to No Romance Required the most enjoyable?

I love the story line. Cory comes off as arrogant, SOB..but you start to fall in love with him he is actually very loving, caring and all that a woman would love. You don't get the pretty romance sweep you off your feet story..it's more realistic... not our billionaire story but a nice well off guy that holds deep feelings for Victoria.

What was one of the most memorable moments of No Romance Required?

The love scenes are super hot.. they are steamier than FSOG. I liked them much better than any other books i have read. including Crossfire, Stark International, and FSOG trilogy. One book that left me wanting to find out more about their happily ever after.

Which scene was your favorite?

the Yoga Gym Sex Scene when he first realized he wanted her badly.

Shut Up & Get Naked

If your idea of romance is a male bully who tells a woman to shut up and get naked on a smelly gym mat, then this is the perfect book for you.

Cory, a rich & arrogant bully, is threatened by his parents to get a personal life or lose his CEO position in the family business. So he asks Vicky, a business colleague, to be his fake girlfriend so his mommy will get off his back. What a prize!

Cory informs Vicky that she must submit to him violent sexual needs, never asking what she wants and just issuing orders in the most condescending ways. Unbelievably Vicky finds his selfish, obnoxious behavior sexy and morphs into a boring wimp.

Vicky, who is more worried about getting her heart broken, doesn't mind his boorish and insulting behavior. Insecure and desperate, Vicky is willing to endure any amount of physical and emotional abuse as long as she gets the occasional orgasm.

Obviously, I did NOT find this book romantic, fun or erotic. I can't say who I disliked more, Cory for being a self-centered asshole or Vicki for becoming a pathetic doormat.

A beautiful, feel good, romantic love story about second chances! Sela and Luke are perfect together!

I wasn't supposed to enjoy kissing you...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kissing the Maid of Honor?

Until now, I was an audiobook virgin. Part of the whole reading experience for me is hearing the characters voices in my head and immersing myself in their world as I envisage it, another is I have a tendency to drift when listening to someone talk for lengthy amounts of times - curse of the introvert, over-active wandering mind and all that. But Robin Bielman is one of my favourite authors and Kissing the Maid of Honor will always be a firm favourite as it was the one that introduced me to her; with a great storyline, endearing characters, humour, romance and heartwarming moments combined with those that pull on the heartstrings a little, it was the perfect book to introduce me to the world of using my ears as opposed to my eyes.

The narrator, Carly Robins, couldn't have been picked any better. She was the perfect voice for Sela and her portrayal of each of the secondary characters came across very well (particularly Shane, he has been my favourite character of the entire series). Sela and Luke were both wonderful easy to love realistic characters; she kind, compassionate and caring home bird who has never left her hometown and is determined to be the best Maid of Honour her best-friend Vanessa could wish for whilst he is her complete opposite; hes travelled the world as a sports photographer, enjoys the more extreme of sports and dates like-minded women. Sela's best friend's big-brother, her brother Shanes best-friend and the Best Man, he's also the guy who, ten years previously, told his buddies she kissed like a corpse. Needless to say theres a touch of dislike there, her hurt has never gone away, nor can she forgive him. But Luke has returned home with a secret and Sela works it out...

The chemistry between them was perfectly emulated from written to audio, which if I'm honest I wasn't really expecting and I found myself laughing, smiling and feeling all warm and fuzzy at the self same moments I did when I read the book. Whether or not you're a seasoned listener of audiobooks, this is one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Fabulous story!

I have read the book previously a couple of times and won a copy of the audible book. This did not disappoint. I could easily follow along with the story.

Roping Ryan

This book was an excellent addition to the West Series with the love story of Ryan and Nikki. Reece had hired Nikki and her dad who owned a private investigation agency to find his twin brother and bring him back to Fairplay for his wedding to Melissa. She tracked him down in Houston in a sleezy bar and was about to pick him up to make sure it was Reeves brother. Two men had taken him out back to beat him up when she happened upon them and came to his rescue to a degree. These crooks started to chase them shooting at them as they ran away. This is how their adventure begins when she explains that his brother wanted him to come home from his wedding. He explains that these bad guys were members of a drug Lord Hijo del Diablo gang and he was an undercover narcotics detective try to catch them but his cover was now blown and they both needed to go in hiding for a while so they did not try to catch them and kill them. Going to Fairplay was the perfect town to hide out in. Nikki calls her dad and Ryan discovers that her dad was an undercover policeman that took down Diablo dad's many years ago. He asks Ryan to keep his daughter safe until they can figure out what to do. Their cover was that they were boyfriend and girlfriend and they were going to stay at Saddleback ranch which was owned by the West family which were his cousins. As he gets reacquainted with his family and his brother, Reece, they start to fall in love. Her dad meanwhile was working on a plan to catch the rest of the Diablo gang and bring Nikki and Ryan home safely. It was very suspenseful when things do not go as according to plans all the while everyone was planning Reece and Melissa's wedding. In the end Ryan and Nikki work their way to their happily ever after but only after an amazing climax. This was a very tender love story and blends the characters from the other books in this series together smoothly. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series about the bad girl in town Savannah and Billy.

Coming Home!!

Nikki Dawson a PI that was hired by Melissa Holton and Reece West to find the latter's twin brother Ryan West.

Nikki found Ryan and in doing so, she jeopardized years of undercover work.....they found themselves having to hide out on Ryan's cousins' ranch, Saddleback Ranch in Fairplay until it was safe for them to leave.

There was an attraction between Ryan and Nikki but the latter kept on fighting it cause in her head she was saying that Ryan was her type eventually Nikki couldn't deny it anymore and she fell in love with Ryan and vice versa.

Nice twist having Ryan and Reece's father being the one that separated them years ago.....shame on him....The reunion between Ryan and his loved ones was an emotional one, loved how Reece just hugged Ryan letting him know that he was loved no matter what happened.

A fabulous read, it had action, romance, tearjerker moments and wonderful surprises.....

Great story

This is the fourth story in the Pine Mountain series but all books are stand alone. This is Teagan and Adrian's story. Adrian meets Teagan literally by accident. Teagan is a paramedic who reports to a call of a motorcycle vs minivan. Adrian's arm gets hurt in the accident which is a problem because he is the sous chef at La Dolce Vita. He is put on leave of absence and thinks he is going to go crazy after just a couple of hours. Teagan also helps at the Double Shot. The bar and grill that her dad owns. When her dad has a serious health issue she takes over full time at the Double Shot. When her cooks walks out that is when Adrian walks in and the fun begins. Teagan finds out that her dad borrowed money from a sleazy loan shark who now wants his money or will start using the Double Shot to launder his money. The staff at the Double Shot pull together to put on a street fair to raise the money to pay the loan shark off. While working day in and day out, Teagan and Adrian can't deny the feelings they have for one another. Will they raise enough to save the Double Shot? Will they be able to keep Adrian out of trouble with his parole officer?

This was such a good story and I really enjoyed it and highly recommend. The narrator did a fantastic job!

review ** spoiler alert ** THIS being the first K.K book I have read, I was completely wow'ed by the story! The story started off as unexpected love story, my mind was thinking ok he will be taken to hospital and fall for the nurse story! so wrong I was,and what an unexpected great start.

This is a touchy feely great love story of two people Adrian and Teagan,who find each knowing they are broken in their own way,they find a way around it.

I absolutely loved the back story of Newna (sp) and though she was not a main character she played a huge role in the love story,

The story ran so smooth I did not want to finish the book,knowing it would come to an end.

Loved

Great storyline and insightful and real characters. Definitely makes me want more of her books.

Slap Shot!

You can't help but love Gayle's hockey players. She develops her stories around real issues in such a way that it authenticates the character's development. She builds delicious chemistry between the main characters, incorporates multi-dimensional secondary characters, and wraps it all up with heartfelt scenes. Add in quality narration and it's a win.

Of course, I recommend reading the Portland Storm series in order. Books reference characters and plot lines from previous books. You dont want to miss any of it!

Hopeful

Babs was my favorite character from On the Fly, so it was great to have this story revolve around him and Katie. And it over-flowed with empathy and hope! Once again, Angel Clark made it thoroughly enjoyable!

Short Unique Christmas Story

This is a short but sweet Christmas romance

American, Beth must be in Scotland all by herself over Christmas.

She meets up with a mutual friend who is very handsome, of course!

I enjoyed the detail, especially hearing some of the traditions.

This has the potential to be a full-length book if the author ever wanted to make it into one lots of detail to work with.

Caroline Miller did a lovely job performing both male and female characters with Scottish and American accents.

The author and narrator are both new to me and I look forward to coming across both of their work in the future.

Short books usually frustrate me, however, *I received this book in exchange for my thoughts, opinions and this review. I did enjoy it more than I thought-4 solid stars.

I listened to the Audible version of Scottish Christmas, which a wonderful short story written by Addison James. Caroline Miller narrated, who was simply fantastic. She really brought the characters to life, giving each character their own distinct voice, including a believable Scottish accent.

The story centers on American Beth who is working in Scotland over the Christmas holidays two years after a painful divorce. Because no one actually works Christmas Day, she's invited to a friend of a friend's house for Christmas dinner. This friend is in the form of Gordon who takes her to his parents home to experience a real Scottish Christmas with all the activity, frivolity, and chaos all large family gatherings should bring.

Swish!

Coach Love, second book in Liz Crowe's Love Brothers series, picks up where Love Garage leaves off. Kieran Love, back home after a Joe Theismann-level injury in the NBA, must come to terms with all of his past's frustrations before he can move forward with his life. An ex-girlfriend, career disappointments and discoveries, family strife, and the hope that it's all going to work itself out move this tale of redemption forward. Life in Lucasville, KY is never simple, but the ride is always worth the price of admission.

It is a story you can relate to about real people and real life issues.

Liz in her unique style with her twist and turns. She is an author who knows how to write and draw her reads or listeners in.

What about Daniel Dorses performance did you like?

I thought he did an outstanding job, his voice fit the story to a T. He put a lot of emotion in it and painted a picture of the story Liz wrote.

Yes the narrator pulled you in to make you want to find out what the author had in story for you.

WOW I just do not know what to say, Liz sure throw a twist in this book. I never saw that coming. Just goes to show you when you think you know a character you need to think again. I totally loved this book, it is so touching and heartbreaking. Liz puts a twist on her stories that are so unlike anything I have ever read. This poor family just keeps getting hit with more pain than it can take.

Liz in her unique style makes you laugh, want to cry, leave you with your mouth hung open saying OOOOHHHH my god as she spins a tale of a family barely holding it together trying to find their way in life with many bumps along the way. I have totally loved the entire Love Brothers series, I have to say this is the best one yet.

A fun romp through the English countryside

Would you listen to Mister Darcy's Dog again? Why?

Yes, it's extremely witty and enjoyable. The narrator had an excellent voice which was perfect for the story.

What other book might you compare Mister Darcy's Dog to and why?

It's pretty incomparable in my experience, sort of like the illegitimate offspring of Jane Austen and Monty Python.

What does Karen Krause bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

She is the perfect person to narrate this story. Her upper crust British accent and dry delivery made this story very amusing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud several times while listening to this story. The escapades of Lizzie's younger sisters were especially funny.

I really enjoyed this story. I've just downloaded the kindle version of Mister Darcy's Christmas, in order to continue to read about these characters. I will be hearing Karen Krause's voice in my head, as I read it.

Be prepared for a real coffee snorter

If you're looking for a serious (really?) Pride and Prejudice knockoff, you are most decidedly in the wrong place! This is a contemporary version and a real funfest!

Of course, Darcy is obscenely rich, but Lizzie Bennet is PhD dog psychologist. Her sisters are a mess, his is manipulative, Wickham is looney, Caroline is (of course) an a$$. And Darcy's pampered pet bassetts are just delightful. See publisher's blurb for clues without spoilers.

The audio version is masterfully rendered by Karen Krause who totally adds to the snarks and puns.

An Exciting Cozy Mystery!

This is an exciting cozy mystery featuring Mr Darcy, the owner of some dogs and Lizzy Bennett, Dog Psychologist. Lizzy is hired to teach Mr Darcy's dogs to hunt so they can be ready for an annual foxhunt. While preparing for the foxhunt, Mr Darcy's sister and Lizzy's sisters disappear and they must chase after them to stop a wedding.

I really enjoyed listening to this story. I love animal book as it is.

Loved the whole series of books. Looking forward to the next one.

Gideon is hotter than ever!

Gideon, need I say more? This book is a continuation of the Crossfire Series. Let me tell you ladies if you thought you loved Gideon before wait till you read this book! He is simply perfection and amazing all rolled into on man Gideon. Eva is one lucky lady! Were that I were that Angel that Gideon covets. Yeah, you will be spewing little ditties like that after you read this latest chapter in their story.

Their relationship still has hurdles to overcome but the way that Gideon handles things are one of the biggest they will have to overcome. I love the way SYlvia gives us more of just the two of them learning to be together learning what it will take to be stronger as a couple. I love that she is showing us parts of him that we the fans have been craving. Well, I don;t think there is anything about this book I don't like. I gobbled up each page and finished it before the day was over. I was on Gideon overload when I finished and let me tell you, it left me feeling a little sad that I had finished it. But no worries I think I am going to re-read it all over so that I can savor each moment they share! Love it and I can't wait till the next one comes out.

Not a LLM I would recommend.

So disappointed. The story "could" have gone somewhere if the wife wasn't such a cry baby! The women cries every other page. I have read Ms Miller for years and she is one of my favorites but, I just can't reconcile this book to others she's written. The story line was good, Mallory and Nathan have high profile careers but their marriage is struggling. Mallory can't stop crying long enough to work passed their issues! She has no backbone, no insight to their marriage and she's wishy-washy on life in general. Couldn't finish it.

Disappointing

I have read and enjoyed her books before. I agree with the others who don't recognize this as the work we have enjoyed before. I didn't care about the characters at all. They replayed the same issues over and over again. There was very little plot and I was happy when I finished the book.

Not up to Miller's usual standards.

More sex than substance. I have probably read all of Linda Lael Miller's books and loved most of them. It's as if she struggled for continuity and a good story line in this one, so just filled in the blanks with sex, sex, and more sex. Sex interspersed around a spellbinding story is a great thing. When one sexual episode after another becomes the story, it's a bad thing. I skipped so many pages of repetitive, boring sex scenes, searching for the heart of the story, I wasted half the book!

Not nearly good as her previous books

No real character building - no connection to family - just two adult people who are not grown up enought to actually talk to each about what's bothering them. Sorry I bought the book. I have enjoyed the other McKettrick stories. This one just wasn't worth the cost...

Not her best work.

Had a hard time starting this, continuing to read this, and then finishing it!! This was an early

Book of hers and she is much better now. The heroine?? was so whiny and cried all the time

(when she wasn't leaving him) yet she made the statement that they were both strong

people!ha!!! He was but not her.
