    Two men of words...
    One seeking only peace.
    The other, violence.
Tate Collier, once one of the country's finest trial lawyers, is trying to forget his past. Now a divorced gentleman farmer, land developer, and community advocate in rural Virginia, he's regrouping from some disastrous mistakes in the realms of love and the law. But controversy - and danger - seem to have an unerring hold on Tate. Even as he struggles to rebuild his life, his alter ego is plotting his demise.
Aaron Matthews, a brilliant psychologist, has turned his talents away from curing patients to far deadlier goals. He's targeted Tate; Tate's ex-wife, Bett; and their estranged daughter, Megan, for unspeakable revenge. Matthews, ruthless and hell-bent, will destroy anything that inhibits his plans.
When their daughter disappears, Tate and Bett reunite in a desperate, heart-pounding attempt to find her and to stop Matthews, a psychopath whose gift of a glib tongue and talent for coercion are as dangerous as knives and guns.
Featuring an urgent race against the clock, gripping details of psychological manipulation, and the brilliant twists and turns that are trademark Deaver, Speaking in Tongues delivers the suspense punch that has made this author a best seller. It will leave you speechless.

    Not Deaver's usual effort
Would you try another book from Jeffery Deaver and/or Ed Sala?
    Yes
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
    How would girl be rescued.
All the things that happened up to the rescue, just the main characters running around in circles.
Could you see Speaking in Tongues being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
    No, too boring.
    Any additional comments?
Probably the worst Deaver book I've ever read. I usually enjoy him a lot.
    Deaver does it again.
Filled with suspense and intrigue. Many twists and turns you don't expect. If you like a good thriller I recommend this Deaver novel.

    Great series
Great series. Very good narrator. The previous books are very good and don't miss the additional insights.
    Good twist
This book is a great addition to the series. I feel bad for Boxer and can't wait to read the next book.
    a dud for patterson
no thrills, still dont get point of plot, his worse work, its like he needed a quick paycheck no depth to characters, protagonist was weak for a detective

After turning a film student's directorial debut into a hit movie, New York mobster and movie fanatic Vinnie Callabrese takes off for the bright lights of Hollywood, where he begins a new life as Michael Vincent, producer. A natural-born wheeler-dealer, he lands not only a major studio deal but also a gorgeous actress girlfriend.
It isn't long before Michael Vincent is one of the most successful producers in town, given his knack for bringing in films under budget - not too difficult when you're willing to lie, seduce, intimidate, and even kill to get what you want. But some of the people from his past have long memories and far reaches, and now it's Michael's turn to watch his back. Because even in the land of make-believe, certain enemies - and their bullets - are very real.

    One of Woods' best
I read this years ago and could still remember a lot of the story line, which told me how much I liked it. Taut, suspenseful, fast moving, it's a fun read. One of Stuart Woods' best offerings, imho, and I've read nearly every book of fiction he's produced. Recommend. Btw, this time I bought it for my Kindle. My hardback and pb books are stacking up; there's not enough space to house them all. Loving my Kindle Fire I got here on Amazon. Will be fun to go back and read this again down the road at some point.
    Good story, awful character
It was a well-written story of a character who finds a way out of his current lot in life and rises above it. The only problem is where this veers from the norm in this type of story: the main character is an absolutely despicable s***! Good story, awful character. Also, if you're familiar with the Stone Barrington novels, the Centurion Studios and Leo Goldman character are different than the ones in the much larger continuity (I'm a stickler for that stuff, so it annoys me; you may have no qualms about it).
    a disappointment
Book starts in almost comic book dialogue . Situation follows same pattern. I will say that book improves about 50 % in to it. You won't be missing much if you skip it
    Five Stars
    Good product
L.A.Times: a Novel by Stuart Woods
L.A.Times widely missed the mark for me. I do not care for this genre of literature. WOODS time is much better with his humorous books without mob involvement. If this is Woods new direction I won't be going.

a little too slow for me, good story in the end
I struggled to get through the first half of the book. SOOOO slow. but in the end I am glad I stuck it out. good story.
    meh
narrated well but I did not like the storyline. could have been done better. The only parts I enjoyed were the few sex scenes.
    Dark, Dangerous, Delicious ; )
Where does Ritual Sins rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
One of the best and I am an audiobook junky.
What other book might you compare Ritual Sins to and why?
Anne' s heroes are always wicked, dangerous and slightly damaged, but Luke has a category of his own...enough said. I dont think i can compare this book to any other book and i dont want to ; )
What about Susan Ericksens performance did you like?
Everything, she did the perfect job...especially Luke' s voice.
    Any additional comments?
Loved it...i loved this book since i read it the first time, but remaking it in the audio version really took it to new heights. If you like your hero dark and dangerous and heroine that can give as good as she gets you will love Ritual Sins. Highly recommended!

  • Tropical Depression Audiobook by Jeff Lindsay
Please open https://hotaudiobook.com ONLY on your standard browser Safari, Chrome, Microsoft or Firefox to download full audiobooks of your choice for free.
    Title: Tropical Depression
    Subtitle: A Billy Knight Thriller
    Author: Jeff Lindsay
    Narrator: Jay Snyder
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 8 hrs and 38 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 03-29-16
    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 24 votes
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
Jeff Lindsay mastered suspense with his wildly addictive Dexter series. Before that, however, there was former cop and current burnout Billy Knight. When a hostage situation turns deadly, Billy loses everything - his wife, his daughter, and his career. Devastated, he heads to Key West to put down his gun and pick up a rod and reel as a fishing boat captain. But former co-worker Roscoe McAuley isn't ready to let Billy rest. When Roscoe tells Billy that someone murdered his son, Billy sends him away. When Roscoe himself turns up dead a few weeks later, however, Billy can't keep from getting sucked back into Los Angeles, and the streets that took so much from him. Billy's investigations into the death of a former cop, and his son, will take him up to the highest echelons of the LAPD, finding corruption at every level. It puts him on a collision course with the law, with his past, with his former fellow officers, and with the dark aftermath of the Civil Rights Movement. Jeff Lindsay's considerable storytelling gifts are on full display, drawing the listener in with a mesmerizing style and a case with more dangerous blind curves than Mulholland Drive.
    Critic Reviews:
    "A rock-solid series debut." (Booklist)
    Members Reviews:
    Not that great.
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I am a huge Jeff Lindsay fan. I loved the Dexter series. This series is very stagnant. I just could not get into it and finish it out. the story was not good, characters are boring.
    Alright
I thought it was kind of cheesy to start with and it is but it's in the hard boiled style which is a bit cheesy. Once you're past that if you have a problem with that, that is. The story is actually pretty good, with a few twists and turns. The narrator is quite acceptable apart from his 'Australian' accent which is really weird, but to be fair Jeff Lindsay's writing of an Australian is weird too, they complement each other so the guy sounds like a Welsh/Irish pirate or something, and nothing like any Australian I have ever met.

    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
From the number-one best-selling author of The Missing and the Dead comes the short novel 22 Dead Little Bodies; two short stories: 'Stramash' and 'DI Steel's Bad Heir Day'; and a novella: The 45% Hangover, all featuring his most popular characters - DS Logan McRae and DCI Roberta Steel.
They say 'small is beautiful', but as Stuart MacBride demonstrates in these four tales, it can also be dark, violent, disturbing, and sometimes really quite rude. So pour yourself a wee dram, curl up on the sofa and enjoy DS Logan McRae and his sometime boss, friend, mother substitute, and nemesis, DCI Steel, at their best.
Here you'll find Logan's week from hell; Steel's own personal nightmare before Christmas; an explosive shootout on a remote Scottish island; and the ultimate test of their relationship....
    Critic Reviews:
Praise for Stuart MacBride: "New Logan McRae novels are close to the top of my unmissable list, and yet again MacBride delivers. His chaotic cop hero is at his best. Superb storytelling." (Sun)
"Another from MacBride's fantastic series of Logan McRae novels. A real page-turner." (Sunday Mirror)

    "Ferocious and funny." (Val McDermid)
"Hard-hitting prose with a bone-dry humour and characters you can genuinely believe in, Stuart MacBride's novels are a real treat." (Simon Kernick)
    Members Reviews:
    My MacBride fix!
These episodes could easily have been part of a full length Logan novel, but are just as enjoyable as stand-alones. Some contain bits of info that fill in the blanks left between novels as well. The biggest surprise and the most fun - the final story, that has Logan and Steele locked together in a most uncomfortable and hilariously compromising position. ALMOST DIED LAUGHING. Brilliantly read by Steve Worsley.
    Good Stories but redundant
One new story and three I've read before. Don't get "The 45% Hangover" separately because it's in this short book. I like this author but readers should know 3 are not new if you've read his other work.
    great hard-boiled tartan noir.
Stuart Macbride is the master of tartan noir. Black humour and thrills in equal measure with great characters.
    Brilliant as always!
Classic, funny and fascinating short stories from the master. Brilliantly narrated by Steve Worsley.
