    Good but too short
I like the story and the narrator did a great job. I just wish there had been more to it. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
    Kick Ass Beginning
I've listened to the whole Jack Noble series, and this short story sets the perfect tone for the rest of the series. Wonderful/Amazing author and the narrator is a bad ass. Keep up the great work you two.
    Rip off
I wasted a credit on a 30 minute story, and it pisses me off. This flashback could of been in any of the other books. I feel cheated by this short story. I have listened to every book in this series, and it sucks to end it this way. Very disappointed!!

Great store but the reader is awful
How could the performance have been better?
The reader would have done better to no use the awful voices. By the time I got into the 2nd hour of the book I was ready to scream just read and drop the voices!!
    Narrator can't do women
    Any additional comments?
I liked the book and for the most part the narrator does a go job, but his female characters all sound like valley girls. Which doesn't fit with the elite professional women in the story
Not as good as book 1&2 in the series
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
This book was a so so story . It passed some time for me thats all
What do you think your next listen will be?
Vince Flynns or Stuart Woods New book
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
I enjoyed book 1 &2 in this series. This book is just another piece of the puzzle of this series but thats it !!
the way this book ended seemed to me like it was rushed and just thrown together to fit
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
depends on if i liked movie 1&2
    Disappointed
Disappointed...maybe because I "read" this out of order, also because I don't appreciate the "F" word (perhaps McNutt, being a military sterotype character, might use the word), but in this and other C.K. books I've read or listened to, the profanity is overkill. The story was a bit predictable and the narrator, though versitle and realistic with some characters, was way off with McNutt---narrator made him sound like a very dumb Scoobedoo and Maggie's voice was too sticky sweet...even Sarah's voice didn't match her persona. Maybe a dual (male/female) narration would have been better. I probably won't listen to or read another Kuzneski novel.
    pretty good
some parts a little too graphic and descriptive for my taste but like the story

    aweso!e
This book was good. I like how it had two parts to this book. They both was interesting books. It sucks that in the first book Todd had died. And Shannon lived I didn't like her one bit. And I'm so glad that Harlem and Johnnie got away lol.
    Dope book.
First story was good but 2nd one was okay.
I'll start by saying the narrators was excellent. I enjoyed the first story but I felt the 2nd story was not as good I understand you want a happy ending but that's rarely ever the case & it was forced.
    The ending
I didn't like the way the book ended. The ending left a "now what" feeling??
    disappointed
i have noticed after listening to kiki's book her story lines get repetitive and old. the descriptions of the women are almost always the same biracial and beautiful. her story lines are almost always the same with the same personalities and not to be mean cheesy very cheesy story lines and characters. i don't recommend this book.
    Terrible!
This is a rip off. Two books disguised as one. I want my money back.

    Narrator: Michael D. Naftel Jr.
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 1 min
    Language: English
    Release date: 09-10-15
    Publisher: Leap of Faith Publications
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 31 votes
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
Breeze is on the move again, aboard Leap of Faith. There is trouble lurking in every port. He gets mixed up with a cocaine kingpin, talks his way out of a Cuban jail, and takes on a pretty refugee as a passenger. His trusty trawler takes him from the Keys to the Caribbean and even to the Chesapeake Bay, where he contemplates turning himself in to the authorities.
This is a timely tale that uses current events to shape the storyline - from our diplomatic relations with Cuba to the social impact of Fifty Shades of Grey. Robinson has proven himself to be a master of the nautical narrative. His adventure stories are part John D. MacDonald and part Papa Hemingway. Following Breeze has action to burn. You'll feel for Breeze as he struggles with his inner demons. You won't guess how it ends.

    A fun read
Where does Following Breeze: Trawler Trash, Volume 2 rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
In the top half, a fun read.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
It was entertaining. Some things don't make logical sense like why he didn't get himself out of financial and legal trouble when he initially got money from the wrongful death settlement in the first book.
What about Michael D. Naftel Jr.s performance did you like?
He learned the proper pronunciation of Boca Grande and Captiva in the second book which is good. He needs to spend a few years living in Florida to get the accent or at least mellow his staccato voicing, but not a bad job on this second book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    Yes, it was fun.
    Poor narrator, fantastic story
Let me start out by saying that Ed Robinson is a fantastic author, I love Breeze as a character and have read several of Ed's books. The narration was painful to listen to, almost as if the narrator read the entire book one line/sentence at a time. Even speeding up the reading didn't make it more smooth. I definitely recommend listening to a sample to make sure you can stand the voice inflections before purchase. As for me, I'll go back to supporting the old trawler trash via purchases on my kindle.
    Great second part
This fiction trilogy was my first exposure to Ed Robinson. I loved this story. after going back and listening to his other books one can really see his growth as an author.
    I enjoyed this book
I'm having fun hanging out with this guy named Breeze. He's a loveable misfit. This time he goes big in money & boats. I am currently reading book 3 in this series on kindle because I'm impatient to wait for the audio version to arrive. It will be great like the others when it comes out on audio. Cool. Breeze.
    great story
loved this story, awesome book and would recommend it to anyone who loves a great boat story

    The value of friendship
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I found it to be a book that relates well to memories and values that follow us throughout our lives...no thought shifte or paradigms , just everyday emotional stability.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The Scotsman, friend of 50+years, but it's a toss up between him and the main character.
What about Nick Sullivans performance did you like?
I really enjoyed the matter of fact style of the author and reader, it was like the captures the essence of each other in the story
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There are many places throughout the story I found myself relating to the commentary in the book, and I laughed out loud. The human response in this book makes you feel that you may have met some of these guys in your life.
    Any additional comments?
A well written and read book, hope you enjoy it, there aren't a whole lot of modern books that satisfy you when the final word is read. This one for me, was one I enjoyed that much

    The Inspector goes under cover
Another good mystery by H.R.F. Keating. Interesting to read about other countries and cultures. Mysteries are all around us. Small print, but easy reading.
    A rather dull affair ...
I read a lot of European mysteries & thrillers, and enjoy them for their settings outside the US. I thought I'd try one of the Inspector Ghote stories since they take place in India. Well, there are some interesting details about India's customs, countryside, politics and history, but I thought the story line was awfully dull, and ended up fast-forwarding thru the pages to get to the end. Basically the story is somebody's threatening murder with little notes, and after 195 pages you find out who. The trip from page 1 to page 195 is a plodding affair. Bah. The character of Ghote didn't seem particularly interesting, either. Keating wrote a lot of Inspector Ghote stories, but I don't think I'll try another. Probably some are better than others.
    Perfect read for the beach
I was in the mood for something light and, well, fluffy. Inspector Ghote filled the bill. I don't often read British mysteries, but I thought I'd try this one. It takes place in India, and Insp Ghote is sent from Bombay, his home base, to the hinterlands to stop a murder from happening. The about-to-be-victim is not interested in helping, until it becomes painfully obvious the soon-to-be-perpetrator is a member of his household.
This is not what I would call a page burner, but it was fun. Especially to see some of India, and how the cultures mix and mesh.
For my purposes, it was perfect. Gave me a much needed escape from my reality, and I felt better when I finished the story than when I began it.

    Publisher's Summary:
Imagine a helpless, pregnant 16-year-old who's just been yanked from the serenity of her home and shoved into a dirty van. Kidnapped. Alone. Terrified.
    Now forget her....
Picture instead a pregnant, 16-year-old, manipulative prodigy. She is shoved into a dirty van and, from the first moment of her kidnapping, feels a calm desire for two things: to save her unborn son and to exact merciless revenge.
She is methodical, calculating, scientific in her plotting. A clinical sociopath? Leaving nothing to chance, secure in her timing and practice, she waits for the perfect moment to strike. Method 15/33 is what happens when the victim is just as cold as the captors.
The agents trying to find a kidnapped girl have their own frustrations and desires wrapped into this chilling drama. In the twists of intersecting stories, one is left to ponder: Who is the victim? Who is the aggressor?
    Members Reviews:
    Brilliant
The main character of this book is intriguing, complex, and an overall joy to read about. Sherlock Holmes meets MacGyver, but as a teenage girl. I would say that if you aren't a fan of detail, this may be a bit off-putting. But the fluid nature of the story leaves you anxious to continue at each stop.
The narrator does a tremendous job capturing the main character, however leaves a bit to be desired on the male characters. It's not a problem, and not a reason to remove a star. Just a critique.
If you're at all medical, skip this book
The idea behind this story is interesting- the story is fast paced and bizarre. There are some significant glaring medical errors- which could have easily been researched- and the story probably could've ended 4 hours early and been better.
    Performance: excellent.
    Fantastic read or listen!
If you like a story that grabs you by the shoulders and shakes. This book is for you.
When the suspense won't let you put it doen....
Sometimes you find somebody you can't put down. Here you go. A nicely twisted set of plot line s.
    Amazing!
I had a hard time putting this one down. Fantastic story and amazing narration, simply fantastic!!

    Members Reviews:
    LOVED IT!!!!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, chapters 28 and 29!!! I have listened/read other books by Karin, but this book by far is the best!!!
Riveting. Can't Put down. Love Karin Slaughter
If you could sum up Pretty Girls in three words, what would they be?
Pretty Girls is the thriller version of the 2014 books of the year--the ones that slowly unravel the complexities of individuals. so slowly that it drains the reader .The difference with Pretty Girls is that there is NO fluff, no psychological babble--EVERY word written has significance and is gripping. Pretty Girls is about 3 sisters, one murdered long ago, and their parents vert different way of dealing with the pain. The 2 living sisters are estranged and living very different lives, but come together in a can't put down story where EVERYTHING is linked.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Pretty Girls?
It's all memorable. Please stop reading this review and buy the book. If you love psychological thrillers, this book is for you. Karin Slaughter can be a gory writer, but this book is not like that, although it is graphic in nature.
Which character as performed by Jennifer Woodward and Robert G Slade was your favorite?
The narrators did an amazing job of voicing the characters. I can't put a finger on a favorite character. I would have to say Lydia, the tough and resilient sister. I loved her most because I loved her boyfriend.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Extreme reaction--LOVED this book. It's in my top 10 of 1000's. I read everything of Karin Slaughter. She's in my top 5 of favorite authors.
    Any additional comments?
Why are you still reading this? Go get the book!
    Karin Slaughter best novel
Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite writers. I'm a fan Grant County series and Will Trent series as well as her stand alone novels. Pretty Girls, a well written psychological thriller, may be her best work yet. It is easily the best of the 50 or so novels I have read or listened to this year. Read other reviews here and at amazon.com to learn more about the book. My intent in writing this short review is to say (1) you need to read this excellent novel and (2) the audiobook version narration is exceptionally good.
I'm glad I decided to buy the audiobook rather than the Kindle version. Jennifer Woodward does a fine job as primary narrator, but Robert Slade's reading of her father's letters to the long dead Julia Scott is haunting and wonderful; Slade's tone is pitch perfect.
Can't believe I'm saying this....better than the Will and Sara series...oh my!!
I usually rate books but never leave comments...this time however I am completely blown away by this story!! I became a huge fan of Karin Slaughters after reading Lisa Gardner and was hooked from book 1...I was devastated when I completed the last in the will and Sara and had to wait.

    Title: The Mask
Subtitle: Vanessa Michael Munroe, Book 5

    Language: English
    Release date: 06-30-15
    Publisher: Random House Audio

    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
For fans of Lee Child, Terry Hayes, and Laura Lippman comes a blistering thriller in which Vanessa Michael Munroe faces the fight of her life.
Vanessa Michael Munroe, chameleon and information hunter, has a reputation for getting things done: dangerous and not quite legal things that have taken her undercover into some of the world's deadliest places. Still healing from a Somali hijacking gone wrong and a brutal attack that left her near death, Munroe joins her lover, Miles Bradford, in Japan, where he's working as a security consultant protecting high-value technology from industrial espionage. In the domesticity of their routine, she finds long sought-after peace - until Bradford is arrested for murder, and the same interests who targeted him come after her, too.
Searching for answers and fighting to stay alive, Munroe will soon discover how far she'll go to save Bradford from spending the next 20 years in locked-up isolation; how many laws she'll break when the truth seems worse than his lies; and who to trust and who she must kill. Because she's a strategist and hunter with a predator's instincts, and the man she loves has just stabbed her in the back.
With break-neck pacing, incendiary prose, and an unforgettable cast of characters, The Mask features Vanessa Michael Munroe: a brilliant, lethal heroine who will stop at nothing to find the truth, no matter what it may cost.
    Critic Reviews:
"Munroe is a sensational character and Stevens is a sensational writer." (Lee Child, New York Times best-selling author of the Jack Reacher series)
"Stevens excels at depicting pulse-pounding danger, and her prose and plotting are spectacular....Only Dan Brown and Lee Child come close." (Dallas Morning News)
"[Munroe is] a protagonist as deadly as she is irresistible." (Vince Flynn)
    Members Reviews:
    Another fabulous Munroe story
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Like each of the Munroe novels since the first one (The Informationist), the plot of "The Mask" is rich, intriguing, keeps you guessing, and makes sense. Having lived in Japan, I can also affirm that the setting is well-developed and authentic. I'm particularly impressed that Taylor Stevens consistently creates stories that maintain this level of quality.
What does Hillary Huber bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I mostly listen to audiobooks for convenience, so I can listen while commuting, running, etc. But there are audiobooks and there are audiobooks, and Hillary Huber's are definitely in the highest class.
    Japan interest
So glad I found this series. Strong woman. Read the first book to help shape the relationship first
    Love Vanessa Michael Munroe
Awesome series!!! Love narrator as her voice represents Michael perfectly!
The characters and adventures are spectacular with each new book. Can't wait for the next one.
    She has done it again
The Mask is perhaps my second favorite next to The Informationist. The protagonist is so frustratingly good and she is her own best friend and worst enemy. Stevens books give me strength.
    Very good
Would you listen to The Mask again? Why?
Yes. The book started off a bit slowly - building a sense of place and leaving this reader as off-balance as a "domesticated" Munro.
