I think this is one of the best series I've read in a long time
I think this is one of the best series I've read in a long time! Would love to see more, I'd definitely buy them!
    Good Continuing Story Line
I think it was well written and a great story line. I think the author showed how well the story continued from the first book and the characters are developed.
This author is getting better and better.
Fantastic writing by this new author! the second book in The Wolf Lake trilogy surpassed the first book big time, and I thoroughly enjoyed the first one LEGEND this book has everythingthe storyline has gotten better more exciting and definitely hotter!! I feel like I'm part of the bookand the story of this pack.the way she introduces new characters and keeps the story interesting and exciting for those characters in place is amazing. the increased erotic in the storyline really vamps up and I can't wait for the third book. you're really have to read this book!! I read an average of 10 books a week, but thisauthor captured my interest and I plan on following herwriting.
    Good Read
If you liked the first book. You will like this one also. It has action, romance and suspense. I know this book is about Roland and his mate. But to me it was like there relationship was rushed in the book. It was a good story don't get me wrong. I just wished it would of slowed down a bit. Yes a lot of the other characters are in this book. Nice to see them. If there is another book to come out from this series I would buy it. So happy reading.
Excellent follow up to book 1
This book was excellent, now I will tell you I was sooooooooooooooooooooooo sad to read one of my favorite characters DIES! which seriously to be honest I SOBBED like a baby, my family thinks I am officially demented LOL..
when I read a series like this, that actually continues from book 1 straight away & involves the original characters I loved so much from book 1, it makes my day! I hate reading a series when only a paragraph is dedicated to the original characters. I cant wait for book 3 I just hope we dont have to wait too terribly long for it because theres way way too much left hanging in the air!!

Great second book in the series
Book two of the series picks up right where the first left off. The recap is done through a phone conversation between two supporting characters. I enjoyed this because we had a chance to see more of their personalities and get a swift catch up on events.
This goes deeper into the centaur mythology and more of their interactions with the Gods. Really great story telling and world building. It is a rich world with wonderful levels, that slowly reveal themselves.
The focus of this book is more on Cami and Drake, with their quest to find Hercules arrow, and on Bo and Daniel, with their budding friendship. Most of the mixed narrative comes from these four characters, but there are a few others tossed in here and there. It is a great device for getting into the head of many characters, making a more enriching read.
The romance heats up but still stays PG, no sexing for these two! The dynamic between Cami and Drake is always brimming with angst, but it is well done drama.
I listened to the audiobook narrated again by Teri Schnaubelt, She has a wonderful quality to her voice that suits the read. Her swift read helps move the action along. I really enjoy her voices and how distinct she keeps them. There could be a little more accent on the Southern characters, but that is nitpicking. I hope she stays with the series!
I really enjoy the way this story weaves together. I am excited to see where it headed next!!
Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.
    A Fantastic Read!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! This is a fantastic story! It is so much better in audio too with all the accents and excitement! OMG, it was like I had my back turned to the TV!
What other book might you compare Centaur Legacy to and why?
The 1st of this series, Blood Debt! I fell in love with this series from listening to Blood Debt! I was thrilled to see book 2 came out in audio too!
What about Teri Schnaubelts performance did you like?
Teri is a superb reader. Her Irish accents were awesome! The proper pronunciations & all the excitement! This book had me on the edge of my seat. Terri is also a master at multiple voices!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Paranormal meets mythology, a love story in the making!
    Any additional comments?
I so love this series! Before hearing book 1, Blood Debt, I had never even heard of the author Nancy Straight. Now I want to read all her books!!! She write a tantalizing & exiting edge-of-your-seat paranormal.

    Publisher's Summary:
In a city built among the bones of a fallen giant, a small group of heroes looks to reclaim their home from the five criminal tyrants who control it.
The city of Audec-Hal sits among the bones of a Titan. For decades it has suffered under the dominance of five tyrants, all with their own agendas. Their infighting is nothing, though, compared to the mysterious "Spark-storms" that alternate between razing the land and bestowing the citizens with wild, unpredictable abilities. It was one of these storms that gave First Sentinel, leader of the revolutionaries known as the Shields of Audec-Hal, power to control the emotional connections between people - a power that cost him the love of his life.
Now, with nothing left to lose, First Sentinel and the Shields are the only resistance against the city's overlords as they strive to free themselves from the clutches of evil. The only thing they have going for them is that the crime lords are fighting each other as well - that is, until the tyrants agree to a summit that will permanently divide the city and cement their rule of Audec-Hal.
It's one thing to take a stand against oppression, but with the odds stacked against the Shields, it's another thing to actually triumph.
In this stunning, original tale of magic and revolution, Michael R. Underwood creates a cityscape that rivals Ambergris and New Crobuzon in its depth and populates it with heroes and villains that will stay with you forever.

A very busy story, but it was a good listen .
I liked the book, I love the narrator. My problem was I kept flashing back to the Iron Druid series. I had to remind myself this is not that series (that I loved). Like I said it was a good book to listen to, I don't think I could have read it.
Brilliant performance by Luke Daniels as always.
Starts slow but is well worth the listen. the writer and reader give the story an amazing fully fleshed feel.
I wanted to return this ...
I'm not sure why I couldn't return it, I'm only 45 minutes into it and, well ... it's ... just not good. Not terribly bad - the idea is great, it could have really gone places, but the narration is poor and the writing needs polish and editing.

Length: 5 hrs and 27 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 05-22-14
Publisher: Marion Zimmer Bradley Literary Works Trust
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 31 votes
Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
This is not a typical Marion Zimmer Bradley novel. This book is the result of a bet between Marion and Don Wollheim, her editor for the Darkover novels at DAW Books. In addition, it's her response to the Gor novels - where men were men and women were slaves - that were also being published by DAW Books. Yes, this book does start out with a heroine who has been captured and is being sold as a slave, who has amnesia and remembers nothing of her life before the trip across the desert with the slavers - and, due to a head injury, remembers mercifully little of that. But she does know that she would rather fight in the arena than be a harlot for the men who do, and that choice changes the rest of the book. In a Gor-style novel the woman would become less her own person, eventually learning to be a contented and obedient slave. In this book, even while the heroine, called Zadieyek of Gyre, remains a slave, she is something quite different from the typical "slave girl" - she grows and develops, always searching for her memory and her past, convinced that this is not how her life is supposed to be. And, of course, she's right.

    Woman Protagonist
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes, entertaining story about cultural traditions and celebration of women's strength and femininity
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I would re-write the ending. The ending was disappointing and lacked reference to the rest of the story line, it felt rushed and removed from the rest of the story.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Christa Lewis?
    Yes.
Do you think Warrior Woman needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No, because I was so disappointed with the ending that I do not care for what would happen next for the main character.

    Publisher's Summary:
Everyone remembers the tale of Snow White and her wicked stepmother. No one remembers Fawn Brown, the other princess, who made the fairy tale happen.
Fawn Brown grew up in the shadow of her half-sister, Snow White. Daughter of the King and his second wife Margaretha, Fawn lacked Snows beauty and her position as heir to the throne. Fawns lot was to wait timidly in the background of the court until she could be sent off to a dull assignment in the bleakest corner of the kingdom.
But the early death of their father left Snow White a spoilt child-queen and Margaretha as her regent. As Snow White approaches adulthood, Fawn finds herself catapulted onto the throne by her mothers desperate schemes and caught up in an impossible balance between saving her sister and keeping the crown she coveted.
Fawn Brown is the story of three women in a struggle for a throne, torn between loyalty, jealousy and ambition.
    Members Reviews:
    Short and sweet
    Any additional comments?
Fawn Brown is Snow White's overlooked half-sister, revealing the "true" story of the fairy tale. This is a short novella with an interesting take on the classic story, narrated beautifully by Kellgren.

    Critic Reviews:
"Fallon delivers a highly complicated tale full of intertwining plots and loads of characters, but brings it all across with a refreshingly straightforward prose style. Though newcomers should definitely read the first two installments of the series first, the author does her best to provide relevant back story along the way, and she ends the book with revelations that will make readers look forward to the next, and final, book in the series. A worthy chapter in Fallons satisfying fantasy tale." (Kirkus)

Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
The eagerly anticipated follow-up to the number one best seller Vagabond, this is the third installment in Bernard Cornwell's Grail Quest series, in a bright and bold repackage. It is 1347. The Hundred Years War has been suspended. The truce releases English archer Thomas of Hookton to pursue his arch enemy and resume his quest for the most prized relic in Christendom: the Holy Grail.
Heading south, Thomas and his men-at-arms begin lightning raids to draw out his enemy. But fate takes an unexpected hand when the plague strikes. What had been a landscape of castles, monasteries, vineyards and villages becomes death's kingdom and the need for the grail, as a sign of God's favour, is more urgent than ever.
    Critic Reviews:
"Crackling with good deeds, fine characters and sparkling set pieces, it confirms yet again Cornwell's reputation for masterly historical novels" (Daily Mail)"It is all spectacular, rattling good stuff: war and torture; love, lust and loss" (The Times)"The battle scenes, as always, are masterful; and the vignettes of everyday living, in times of extreme hardship, have the ring of simple truth" (Sunday Telegraph)"A very fine writer" (Economist)
    Members Reviews:
    A Decent Ending
This is the third and final book in the Grail series and at the end provides a very fitting and satisfying conclusion to a very enjoyable series. Andrew Cullum narrates in fine style and brings to life Cornwell's trade mark accuracy in describing medieval life.
While this has been an excellent series and I am a huge admirer of Cornwell's work I didn't get quite the same satisfaction out of this one as his other books. Perhaps the lack of large scale action or I felt the repetitive nature of the plot (hero has lost his previous lover, totally lacks direction etc) meant that it wasn't as gripping as previously.
It is a decent end to the series though and when combined with the excellence of the previous two books this series is still well worth investing time in.
    good story well told
it was an easy listen. its a good story though not my Favorite of his works.
    Excellent
Loved it. great performance although, French accents would have been better for the French characters. Excellent conclusion to the grail quest and an superb hero in Thomas of Hookton. Loved the entire series.
    great series
Cornwell does it again. This would be a great introductory series of historical fiction if you're new to the genre. gripping and well researched, I defy you not to enjoy this!
    Heretic review
Another great story from Bernard Cornwell. Well worth the time to listen on audio book.

Arkady is exiled to the repressive Torlenian capital, where she makes some unexpected friends and some powerful enemies, all of whom seem bent on using her to wreak vengeance on each other. Things are not going smoothly for Declan Hawkes, the King's Spymaster, either, and not just because the Empress of the Five Realms has turned up in Caelum with her family.
Jaxyn Aranville is determined to quash any opposition to his plans for the Glaeban throne and Arkady's husband, the Duke of Lebec, is on his way. And in the stark deserts of Torlenia, a meeting between two powerful Tide Lords could put to rest eight thousand years of enmity...or not...
    Critic Reviews:
"This second book in Fallon's series is just as pleasing as the first. The characters and dialogue are intelligent and imaginative, and the reader is drawn deep into the world of Amyrantha. Its gods, humans and slaves are created with a fine hand and complement the intriguing storyline. Fallon's fantasy will keep you turning pages to the end, and leave you wanting more when you reach the final page." (Book Reviews)
    Members Reviews:
    Really interesting with some humour
What I liked about this book was that despite not having read the 1st book in the Tide Lords series, I was able to pick up the storyline and get into it; I found it really engaging. I loved the subtle humour here and there - I had a few "laugh out loud" moments. I enjoyed the strength of the characters and the steady build-up in the storyline and I was compelled to get the follow-up books.
However, I was disappointed with the last two books in this series. The storyline although somewhat complex, slowly loses its finesse in the last 2 books, almost as if it was not thoroughly thought through and made up along the way, throwing in more characters and twists in a chaotic manner while dragging out the story!! Unfortunately, on the whole, the scenes or the fictional worlds were/was not sufficiently or creatively described to inspire belief and imagination.
The narrator was ok, but his voice variations seemed somewhat limited thereby not able to keep up and give the numerous characters distinctive voices, especially in the last 2 books as the interaction and number of characters increase.
Fascinating, leaves you wanting more NOW!
Would you consider the audio edition of Gods of Amyrantha to be better than the print version?
I have not read the print version, but enjoyed the audio version very much. Very easy to listen to and narrator was vety good.
What did you like best about this story?
I like the fact that even if you suspect something is a little off, you can still be surprised when the twist is laid out for you. That really makes a book more enjoyable for me.
What does John Telfer bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?
I personally really enjoy the way he reads. And I feel that he gives the caracters life, slight changes in tones makes each character have a voice of their own, which is nice, even if they have not said who is talking I know which character is speaking, which means I don't have to keep going back to figure who is talking.

A truly new idea has arived...... Tide magic.
If you could sum up The Immortal Prince in three words, what would they be?
hmmmmm very interesting (in your best Einstein voice)
What other book might you compare The Immortal Prince to, and why?
An interview with a vampire crossed with game of thrones
What about John Telfers performance did you like?
well he was just a joy to listen to. A ninja of multiple accents and vocal characteristics. well maybe not that good but he is good
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
hmmmmm , not really, I find this question odd, its a 20 ish hour book.
    Any additional comments?
well my Friends come one come all and see a truly novel idea (well I've never seen it before) tide magic. there are chaps and chappets (tide lords) who control tide magic which is controlled by the tide star which seems to come and go from the world ( maybe like an orbiting meteor ) bring the magic to and from the world. the book follows mostly kyelle who is a said tide lord, in jail and being interviewed to see if he is mad as he claims to be a tide lord (an immortal wizard) as the tide is out (no magic around) and has been out for 2-300 hundred years no one believes in tide lords any more. its like interview with a vampire crossed with the intrigue of politics of a roman senate or GOT if ur into your modern hyped up comparisons. I highly endorse this book (for what my humble endorsement means) and hope you all enjoy it.
New concept - novelty character within the genre
What did you like most about The Immortal Prince?
I have read pretty much everything worth reading in the fantasy genre over the last two and a half decades and thus it is very hard for me to find something with novelty character. Tide magic is a new concept, which makes the novel stand out among other fantasy works. Some components of the plot is somewhat reminiscent of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. While many fantasy novels have a medieval setting, this novel appears to have a Baroque setting, also differentiating it from others in the same category.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Immortal Prince?
What does John Telfer bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?
John Telfer is an extremely talented narrator who managed to bring to life the different characters.
