    Author: Andrew Grey
    Narrator: Nick J. Russo
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 4 hrs and 18 mins
    Language: English

    Publisher's Summary:
When his college biochemistry class turns out to be much more difficult than star quarterback Freddie Samuelson imagined, his lab partner, Kurt Maxwell, agrees to help. They're very different: a rich kid athlete and a hardworking openly gay scholarship student. But Kurt slips past Freddie's defenses, and little by little-despite Freddie ignoring his own sexuality in the past - Freddie realizes he wants to get to know Kurt, especially when Kurt helps him through more challenges than their science class. But it isn't long before rumors begin to fly, and the obstacles Freddie will face may block him from both the future he planned on and the future he didn't know he wanted.

Good narration, story not as good as first book
In book one, we met Josh and Brendan, a coach and a professor/genius who fall in love. Josh is here as the coach of Freddie, the star quarterback, and acts as a counselor for Freddie as he navigates his decision to come out.
Kurt is out and proud in his new college but hes already been the victim of bullying so hes a bit gun shy of jocks, especially closeted jocks. So when Freddie tries to strike up more than just a tutoring relationship its understandable that Kurt is a bit reluctant to take a risk.
Freddie, on the other hand, is captivated by Kurt and thinks he might be the reason itd be worth facing his family and friends with his new truth.
    **
I loved book one so much! Brendan and Josh were really sweet and adorable and I was hoping for something like that here.
Instead we get Freddie who has trouble in school, has trouble making decisions and has self-esteem issues when it comes to his family. Im not sure what he sees in Kurt or vice versa and it was hard rooting for them as a couple.
Kurt is a bit of a bossy bosserton who waffles and gives in pretty easily in the face of only a very minor bit of pushing on Freddies part. Besides his physical appeal I didnt see what he saw in Freddie nor did Freddie give any good reasons for Kurt to trust him.
Freddies actions didnt feel authentic and I wasnt really feeling any chemistry between him and Kurt so this wasnt a romance that let me believe theyd still be together in the long run.
    3 of 5 stars
    Audio
Nick J Russo is a great narrator and really seemed to hit Freddies football persona on the head! I LOVED Freddies roommate the drawl Nick gives him is pretty funny and it actually added a bit of much needed color to this somewhat drab romance.
I definitely enjoyed listening to this more than reading it as Nick was able to draw me in to the characters with his well-done narration.
    4.5 of 5 stars
    Overall 3.75 of 5 stars
    Great story
Great writing and great Narration. Author had me drawn in to the story and caring about the characters and what would happen to them.
Fun Jock meets nerd college coming out fantasy
Kurt Maxwell, nerdy, out & outspoken, scholarship student from a poor Pennsylvania family, transfers in his junior year to a more prestigious school and is determined to do well.
When he's teamed as a lab partner with Freddie Samuelson, the studly closeted/clueless quarterback, scion of a wealthy east coast family, who shares a name with several campus buildings, friction is inevitable, and in the case of m/m fiction some sweaty wish-fulfillment fantasies.
This is a fun, if periodically incredible, romp in the hay, centered on the modern college experience.

    Genres: Fiction, Gay & Lesbian
    Publisher's Summary:
Combining glittering wit, an atmosphere dense in social paranoia, and a breathtaking elegance and precision of language, White's first novel suggests a hilarious apotheosis of the comedy of manners. For, on the privileged island community where Forgetting Elena takes place, manners are everything. Or so it seems to White's excruciatingly self-conscious young narrator who desperately wants to be accepted in this world where everything from one's bathroom habits to the composition of "spontaneous" poetry is subject to rigid conventions.
    Members Reviews:
    Narrator not for me
I am a big fan of Edmund White's non-fiction, and I was excited to dive into this novel. However, the narrator's style put me off, and I found it very difficult to get through this one.
    Unbearable narration
Can't judge the writing as the narration was insufferable. I was worried when I saw his name as he ruined another book I tried to listen to. Never again. Such a shame.

Like Visiting Old Friends You Love
Like going home to visit old friends, Letting Go takes readers back to Rock Bay and re-acquaints us with the characters from book one. They are fun and sweet and full of personality, each bringing a uniqueness to the book. With the beginning of the book focused on the main character's past -Drew and Mason- it started quite slowly. If their background could've been integrated within the present-day story, the flow might've been smoother but regardless, there was so much to love about the characters. Drew and Mason's love story was sweet - their obstacles never too much for them to overcome. I enjoyed listening to the narrator bring life to the author's words, and am eager to read about more of the characters from Rock Bay.
Not as good as book 1
I think this m/m romance has got the curse of 2nd book "filler" blues! It was a good book... the whiney characteristics of both male leads were just annoying... I would return it if I wasn't so anal about having a complete set in a series!
    Narration was fairly decent...
Nice sale book... Save your credit for something a bit more fulfilling... Actually I would just buy this because it's pretty cheap... Under 10 bucks!

Todd Burton has had enough of small-town Buckman. His abusive stepfather calls him a fag; his friend Austin makes him realize he may be gay, but Todd doesn't want to admit his stepfather is right; and he dreams of being a chef. Three good reasons to flee his hometown and pursue greener pastures. But when Todd reaches the big city, his luck runs dry. Soon he can't pay his rent and gets evicted. In the middle of a snowstorm.
Gabe Richards is a wealthy businessman with enough wounds of his own to make him afraid of ever being intimate again. But when he sees Todd outside his building, freezing to death, he takes pity on him and takes him in from the cold.
To their mutual surprise, Todd and Gabe find themselves drawn to each other. "One night" turns into a week. Maybe letting a man in from the cold can melt the ice around Gabe's heart - and maybe getting evicted will turn Todd's luck around.
    Members Reviews:
    Sweet and fluffy
This was a really sweet and fluffy read. Charlie David is one of my top ten narrators and he delivers again in this one. This is an insta love with a strong "pay it forward" theme. Pretty predictable, but still a nice listen. The only negatives are personal pet peeves of a lot of inner monologueing and characters "thinking" something and then saying "did I say that out loud?" Honestly, do people really do that? There is also an overuse of the fa**ot word IMHO. Worth a credit.
    Sweet but too compressed
I was hooked from the first word spoken by Todd Burton. Charlie David's characterization was the reincarnation of Topher Manning from Brad Boney's "The Return", and that naive but smartass attitude and tone is something I could listen to all day. But then Charlie David could read the Bible to me, and I'd think it was sexy.
The story is sweet, though in audio a bit confusing when Todd channels his step-father's voice or when he is unaware he's said something out loud. What tampered my enthusiasm was (something of a spoiler ahead) was that in less than one week, Todd goes from "I'm absolutely straight, though maybe a bit bi-curious, broke, jobless, lonely, and homeless" to the completely opposite extreme. And that Gabe, given his past experiences, rolls along with it. Strangers one day to "I love you" two days later? That's the part that really kept me from empathizing with and identifying with the characters.
Also a little disappointed that Austin didn't appear in this one, since Todd pops up in Austin's book. Would have liked to have heard Gabe's reaction.
All said though, I'll probably replay it in the near future, if for nothing more than to listen to Todd's confrontation with his step-father and mother.
Thoroughly entertaining thanks to Charlie David!
    Any additional comments?
    3.75 stars out of 5
NOTE: The rating is entirely due to Charlie Davids performance. Once again, Charlie David delivers an entertaining production that cuts some of the too-saccharine sweetness from the story, leaving only enjoyment in its wake.
This is one of those times when the story itself doesnt resonate deeply but I like the narration so much it elevates the final rating much higher than it would be as if I had simply read the story.
This is an insta-love heavy-dose romance (they know each other a week before the I-Love-Yous are exchanged) Cinderfella story.

A fantastic modern day ghost story
This audiobook exceeded my expectations, even surpassing the prior one for Green Fairy.
The narrator's performance was wonderful, and really brought to life each individual character's voice and mannerisms.
Highly recommended for anyone interested in the gay themes of the story, even if they're not already interested in the furry nature of the book.
    Master peace!!
Makes me want to cry knowing there's only 1 last book please kyell gold write more let this series return
    Worst of Kyell Gold
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Very disappointed in this book given that Kyell Gold has written other books that are great.
    Any additional comments?
As a fan of other Kyell Gold's books, I found this one to be very disappointing in comparison. It is very hard to get into. I found Green Fairy to be alright, not his best but still enjoyed listening. This sequel (and I use that term somewhat loosely) was dry and seemed to drag on needlessly in several points.
    An amazing sequel
If you could sum up Red Devil in three words, what would they be?
    Scary, honest and bittersweet.
What other book might you compare Red Devil to, and why?
Best comparison would be Green Fairy, as this book is the sequel to it, it follows the same characters but from the point of view of Alexei, previously a side character, and the in depth parts about his home country are really fascinating.
What about Jay Maxwells performance did you like?
I love the accents he gives to characters, they all sound perfect and fit them so well, I'm glad he narrated this sequel.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I had to remind myself to sleep on multiple occasions, but I just felt so strongly for the characters I had to keep listening for another chapter or two!
    Any additional comments?
Red Devil is an excellent sequel, it is highly recommended that you listen to/read Green Fairy first however, as otherwise you may find yourself confused at certain points, but I am also greatly looking forward to the sequel Black Angel which will be releasing next year!

With a disarming smile and a penchant for drama, Sean laughs his way into Zach's heart one elevator ride at a time. Zach would love to get to know Sean better, but first he needs the courage to leave his ivory tower and face a relationship that doesn't end at the "Ding!"

    Going Up
Would you listen to Going Up again? Why?
Yes, it was a fun and happy book. It had a Happy Ever After ending that I like.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The lead character and his love interest.
What does Paul Woodson bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
The enthusiasm for life and change. The fun of learning how to be a friend and lover.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Learning to live.
    Any additional comments?
This was a really fun book and I have listened to it several times.
    Paul/Philip is ACES in this!
Zach is thirty-something. Hes a union lawyer living in a high rise owned by his father. Hes gay but only the rent boys he frequents knows that about him. Hes socially awkward and shy and hes lonely. Very lonely.
Sean is a substitute teacher also living in a high rise, but hes got 5 roommates! Hes colorful, quirky, out-going and spontaneous. He sometimes dates, but mostly works trying to make ends meet.
They meet when the express elevator breaks down and Zach is forced onto the regular elevator that runs for those not in the pent-house. Zach is enthralled by Sean. Sean is color in Zachs black and white world. Heat to his cold, chaos to his order.
Over a year these two meet for thirty seconds of dating on the elevator. It takes a lot of effort. If Zach is too early or late hell never catch a glimpse of Sean and he has to ride Seans elevator which isnt his norm. In fact he gets a bit conflicted when he makes friends with Jace and Quent (yay!) who also ride the express elevator so he splits his time between the two elevators. But he doesnt approach Sean for more. Sean has to invite Zach over for a party for the two to actually start something real.
Zach sees Sean as his knight in shining armor, come to rescue him from his tower of loneliness and bring him to the land of the loving.
Fortunately, Sean is a knight in shining armor and he does and its wonderful!
    **
This story is quirky, funny, sweet, tender and heart-breaking. My heart broke for the inner dialog in Zachs head. Hes so lonely and feels so useless. Sean is his polar opposite and they mesh so beautifully together.
I love Amys light fare, because she always gives us at least a taste of the angst, but without the horrible separation/death/bad decision making/curse that the heavier stuff includes. The chemistry is pretty hot, but mostly its tender and touching. Sean isnt a perfect model of a man, but hes absolutely worshipped by Zach. Zach who probably fits that model definition to a T but hes so broken on the inside.
    The secondary characters are superb.

Hanibal Lecter is not sexy to me!
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Overall, I enjoyed most of this installment in the Brooklyn Sinner's Series but the narrator's portrayal of Syren was not to my liking. Sounding like Hanibal Lecter isn't sexy to me and it pulled me from the story. Syren is supposed to be sensual not creepy.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I enjoyed seeing the MC's from the previous books books quite a bit. I found that there were many plot holes and "the big misunderstanding" in this book was annoying as hell.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Renard Pasquale?
I have enjoyed Renard Parsquale's narrations in all of the Brooklyn Sinner books, just not his voice of Syren. I would keep Renard and beg him to give Syren a new voice.
    Woah!
FYI: This is m/m romance.. and graphic violence... It's a gang member/cop romance... so be warned!
Ok... Out of all the books in this series... This one always makes me cry!!!! I feel so bad for Syren and Kane... for different reasons of course..but still!!!
Syren is Farrow, which we learned at the end of book 1... but his backstory was simply sad and outrageous! Plus Syren as Farrow... dang he is still suffering!!!
I really liked Kane, but I after a while I just wanted him to give in..but he was so hung up over his last lover.. C'mon already... it's been 3 years!
    Loved the ending...
    Great buy/credit/sale
    Narration, yet again...superb!
    Syren's voice was bad.
i do wish I read this one rather than listen to it. The story was good but the narrator's voice for Syren was not enjoyable.
This story featured Syren Rua (the man with many identities) and his quest for revenge and reclamation of his true self. We learned in the prior books that Syren was working as a double/triple agent against his employer, Ricardo De la Torre, who murdered his family and sold him to slavery. As Syren worked as Faro, he had come into contact with Federal Agent Kane Ashby (brother of Gabe Ashby). Kane was still mending from the death of his partner. But the both of them shared an attraction that they couldnt deny.

    Wonderful Romance
If you could sum up An Unconventional Courtship in three words, what would they be?
    Sweet, moving, romantic
What was one of the most memorable moments of An Unconventional Courtship?
I love their interactions in the Virgin Islands. Webber went out of his way to romance Kincaid. It was beautifully written.
Which character as performed by Finn Sterling was your favorite?
Webber. I loved his soft southern accent. He also did a very passable Caribbean patois.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but I had to work the next day.
    Any additional comments?
Please give Finn more work. I am very impressed with his narrative skills. If more books were read by him or other narrators with his talent, I'd be broke from buying them.
When good narration happens to a bad story
    Any additional comments?
Though it has a promising premise - office assistant in love with his boss for years - the execution was lacking.
This is what happens when good narration happens to a bad story. It didn't matter that Finn Sterling delivers a good performance. The story grated from early on, ruining any opportunity for me to really enjoy it. Full disclosure on why it didn't work for me: It's overly descriptive for everything, it's a giant miscommunication plot early on, which takes more than half the book to correct, and the "twist" at the end was far too predictable.
I actually marked this DNF at 52%. However, after taking the night (and having errands to run around town) I decided to go ahead, try it again, and, if not enjoy it, then at least tough it out and finish the audio book.

    Book five of Wicked Play
It's been 20 years since Rockford Fielding's father punished him for kissing another boy. Now a grown man with a military career behind him, Rock continues to deny his true desires, even while working security at The Den, the most decadent sex club in town. But after a year of watching gorgeous Carter Montgomery come and go on the arms of other men, Rock can no longer resist the cravings he's denied for so long.
Carter has just four months left on his contract with an escort agency, and he doesn't know whether to feel relieved or afraid. Being an escort is all he knows. Adding to his confusion is the way his latest client, the sexy but stoic Rock, makes him feel things he hasn't wanted in years.
One charmingly awkward date turns into two and soon the men are meeting off the clock. But with Rock in the closet and Carter unsure how to pursue a real relationship, how can they build a future both in and out of the bedroom?
    Members Reviews:
    Good narrator but average story
McKenna's voice is rich and compelling but, unfortunately, the story gets boring after a promising start. The scenes between Rock and Carter are repetitive and as a listener, I was stuck with that. At least with an ebook or hard copy, I can skip those parts easily. Not possible with an Audible audio because I don't even get chapters and it's a pain to get to where I want, or return to my last spot.
There are heaps of better rent-boy/hooker stories out there.
    WOW!
I waited a long to buy this book. I've listened to all the others in this series. I'm sorry I waited so long.
I really didn't think I'd like a gqy man's novel, but boy was I wrong. The story is so well written. Dealing with all the struggle of society's views and coming out and how will your patents take it. The romance is hot!
I'm glad the author chose a male narrator for this story. He did a good job. I wished for a little more difference in the characters though. And, quite frankly, he sucked at the female voices, but there aren't that many in this book so it wasn't to hard to over look.
Great love story of learning who you are and what you want and how to trust.
    Try it!
Wickedly Great!!! (M/M) Romance for Lovers.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The reviews don't give this book justice. It works as a stand alone or In the series. Granted it's not about BDSM. Just a love story of two strong handsome men finding their way to love. This is the most honest male on male book I have read that focused on just them and that's kind of great.
What did you like best about this story?
The characters a retired military man who works at the Den and drools over a sought after escort and trying to face his demons, the twist is who is actually helping who? They both need each other and become stronger together. I wished this book was longer I hope their is a part two or a back history on the escorts perspective.
    Which scene was your favorite?
Too many to list. The love scenes were hot however just them coming together for the first embrace was enough. The author doesn't rush their feelings it grows on you.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened twice back to back because I was so drawn in that I started searching for other male on male romances. Lynda your fabulous and keep writing this series.

    Publisher's Summary:
A year after the sudden death of his longtime partner, Ben, Theo Anderson is still grieving. The last thing he's looking for is a new lover. But as Theo soon discovers, sometimes life has other plans.
While Theo experiences a powerful physical attraction to fellow gym member Peter, it's his new online friend, Morgan, who provides the intellectual challenge to make him come alive. Morgan is witty, brave, and irreverent, and Theo is ready to take the plungeuntil he discovers Morgan might be half his age.
Theo's late partner was significantly older - enough to strain Theo's relationship with his family - and the potential of another relationship being cut short leaves him gun shy. Theo needs to lay Ben's memory to rest, reconcile with his family, and rekindle neglected friendships if he's to start afresh with a new lover. But Theo isn't the only one with a past. His biggest challenge, in living after Ben, might not be his to face.

Beautiful prose and characters with depth
Would you listen to After Ben again? Why?
No, I couldn't journey with Theo in his memories of Ben again. Too painful.
What was one of the most memorable moments of After Ben?
The online banter between Theo and Morgan after they started communicating away from the forum. Some of it was hysterical.
What about JP Handlers performance did you like?
The genuine emotion he brought to the story. He got choked up more than once, which of course brought me to tears repeatedly.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. I listen to audio books while in my car, at work, and while riding my bike.
    Any additional comments?
My review: Theo recalls in heart-wrenching detail his life with partner Ben over 15 years. It's been a year since Ben's death and he still struggles with everyday life...until he meets Peter and Morgan. Peter works out at the same gym, and Morgan is a constant online presence on the debate forums in which Theo participates. Both urge Theo on, to live in the present, to see a future full of hope and love without his Ben. But only one eventually captures Theo's heart.
It was an emotional rollercoaster. Even the narrator was choked up at times. I found both the characters and the storyline believable and completely engaging. I loved Con Riley's lovely prose, the sheer depth of her characters, and her ability to make readers feel almost like voyeurs. It's my first book by this author and certainly will not be my last.
    Highly recommended.
    Engrossing, Heart-pleasing, A++
Unusually satisfying, well-written and superbly narrated piece. The narrators Italian accent and interpretations are wonderful. The characters seem alive, like they all live next door to you. The story does start out slow, so give it some time, but when the interns arrive, lookout, the thing just launches into the sky and never comes down!
Loved this one...its a series!? where's the rest??
What made the experience of listening to After Ben the most enjoyable?
    good narrator..
