    Publisher's Summary:
I'll go through hell and back again if it gets me this promotion, and more importantly if it gets me closer to my boss....
I've always been pretty damn nervous around my boss, Mr. Atkins, and understandably so. Although I'm sure everyone tends to get antsy around their employers, the case is especially severe in Mr. Atkins' presence.
There are widespread rumors throughout the office that Mr. Atkins likes men, and that he likes them A LOT. I think because of that, I've always had this sort of weird sexual tension with him, even though I've always considered myself primarily straight otherwise.
At any rate, one day my co-worker Eric and I are called to Mr. Atkins' office for a surprise meeting. I'm nervous as hell given a round of recent cut-backs at the company, and am hoping against hope that I come out with a promotion instead.
Eric is called in first, and moments later, moans and violent thuds begin to emit from behind the door of the office, giving me a very clear impression as to what exactly is expected of me in exchange for a foot in the door of this company....

What did you love best about One Promotion. Two Applicants. The Alpha's 9 Inches. Who Wants It Badly Enough??
Even tho I would have preferred that the book was longer, I enjoyed the fact that it was all action, never a dull moment.
What was one of the most memorable moments of One Promotion. Two Applicants. The Alpha's 9 Inches. Who Wants It Badly Enough??
The most memorable would have to be the 3 of the guys together near the end of the book. The dialogue and writing were very exciting.
Have you listened to any of Karl Michaelss other performances before? How does this one compare?
His voice sounded similar to several male narrators from my reading past, maybe I did but his name does not ring a bell.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Three way in the Office.

Nick and Charlie - great combo
First you MUST have read book one for this book to mean much to you.
We met Hunter and Ari in An Intrepid Trip To Love, the mates who couldnt mate because of politics and were then separated by an evil mother and a clan war.
This book is about their back-story and their coming together.
    **
Charlie Cochet has to be one of my favorite authors! She is so witty, so giddy and yet careful with her dialog. I adore her characters and find her creativity astonishing.
I was so glad to see that she didnt keep Ari and Hunter apart for long in this book and was grateful for the back-story it was sexy and hilarious at the same time.
The evil in this book is REALLY evil and I am looking forward to seeing more about this clan war and possibly another match with our wolf leader in the future.

Nick J Russo is a fantastic narrator. He has a great sense of pacing and his voice is so easy to listen to. He gives Ari and Hunter different voices and makes this a great way to enjoy this story.

    Publisher's Summary:
Leo is a lonely workaholic with no time for romance in his life. His job in London takes all his energy and commitment. When he goes to Cornwall to stay with his terminally ill uncle, Edwin, love is the last thing Leo expects to find. Tris lives in a cottage on Edwin's land. Gay, but still half in the closet, he and Leo bond over their affection for Edwin, and the pull of attraction between them proves too strong to ignore.
In Tris's arms, in the wilds of Cornwall, Leo finds a peace he'd forgotten existed. On his return to London, Leo finds himself grieving for more than just the loss of his uncle. When some unexpected news gives Leo the chance to return to Cornwall, he's afraid it will be too late to rekindle things with Tris. But having learned much from his stay with his uncle, Leo doesn't want to look back and wish he'd done things differently. It's time to seize the day - if it's not already too late.
    Members Reviews:
    Nice comfort listen
This is a wonderfully sweet romance with some sadness mixed in. Leo is a 40 year old workaholic who visits his beloved elderly uncle who is dying. There he meets Tris who is picking up his life after his breaks up. Leo's uncle makes some family revelations that causes Leo to question his choices. The story is sweet and poignant. It has a little angst and a tear jerk moments in the telling of his uncle's story and life. The narrator does a great job in bringing all these men to life. It is always great when a British narrator performs a book based in England. Overall a good comfort listen.
Edwin's story just as great as Leo's
Leo temporarily moves to Cornwall to spend time with his dying uncle. While there he meets Tris, a closeted gardener who is renting a house from Edwin, Leos uncle.
The premise of this story is simple: boy meets boy, boy kisses boy, boy loves boy, boy leaves boy, boy misses boy, boy returns to boy.
    But.
There is way more to this story. Each of the men in this story has a history they need to wrestle with in order to become the happiest they can.
Tris needs to come out of the closet, forgive himself for his divorce and for deceiving himself and his family for so many years.
Leo needs to realize that he is more than his job and that happiness cannot be found working 80 hours a week.
Edwin, probably the most touching story of all, gets to finally tell his story and embrace the life he couldnt for all these years.
    **
On the one hand this story has very little angst for our two MCs. Their love story moves fairly quickly and without a lot of drama.
What I loved about this book was Edwins story. Its both heartbreaking yet romantic and sweet at the same time. I loved how his love helped Leo and Tris appreciate what they have (or could lose). He was an amazing character.
All in all this was another very well written story by one of my favorite authors, Jay Northcote, who consistently gives us wonderful, well-formed, three-dimensional characters and a tender and sweet love for them to find.
    Audio
Matthew Lloyd Davies narrates a lot of Jays books because of his lovely English accents. Everyone has a very distinct sound including the nurse! Its a great way to experience these books and really immerses you in the story.
    An okay story
I bought this book because I loved Law of Attraction but this was just okay.
Great book to make you think
This is an EXCELLENT book by Jay.

    Publisher's Summary:
Nothing is easy about life above the Arctic Circle. Except, perhaps, falling in love.
Bryson Faulkner embraces the challenges that come with making a home in one of the most beautiful but unforgiving places on earth: the isolation of the endless wilderness, the harsh and unpredictable climate, and the predators that lurk about her remote cabin. And even the most perilous dangers of all - those that await her when she takes to the skies as one of Alaska's most daring bush pilots. The only thing missing is a special woman to share it all with, but she's resigned herself to the fact that few people can thrive in such an extreme environment.
Everything Karla Edwards thought she knew gets called into question when a series of events turns her comfortable and well-ordered life on its ear. Her partner leaves her, her mother dies, and Karla learns she has a sister in Alaska she never knew. She takes a leave of absence from her job as an ER nurse in Atlanta and heads to the far north, seeking answers and adventure. She finds all that and more when she crosses paths with a sexy bush pilot who opens her eyes to new possibilities. But can she open her heart as well and learn to trust again?

A complex enemies to lovers lesbian romance novel
What did you love best about Breaking the Ice?
It deals with difficult themes like grief and hereditary disease but still delivers a satisfying romance.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Bryson is not your typical lesfic lead, but everything about her is interesting and wonderful. She loves her cabin without running water or TV/internet, shes a woman in a typically male dominated profession, and shes a perfect blend of pragmatic and kind.
Which character as performed by Kim Baldwin was your favorite?
I didn't have a favourite. She did a great job with all of them.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I wouldn't say I laughed or cried, but I enjoyed it very much and had a hard time pausing it.
    Any additional comments?
If youve ever talked to me about lesfic or taken a peek at my Goodreads shelves, itll be no surprise to you that Im a huge fan of Kim Baldwins books, and Breaking the Ice is one of my very favourites. I love her Alaska books because she perfectly balances action with romance, giving enough detail that I can imagine the setting, but not so much that I get bored. How she does it, I dont know, but I admire it every time I pick up one of her books.
I received a free copy from the publisher for an honest review at The Lesbian Review.
My Hat's Off to Kim Baldwin
Over the past few years, it seems that every romance I read has left me disappointed and uninterested, until listening to this one. For the first time in ages, I was listening to a romance with characters that not only held my attention, but that I can picture so fully, it is hard to believe they are not people I know. From the first description of Bryson, her association with the wild elements around her, turned her into a romantic hero who drew me like a magnet, from the first chapter to the last. I won't rehash the story line, but it is well worth the price, and fascinates on so many levels, I cannot recommend it to you highly enough.
One thing I personally connected with and followed closely throughout the book was the serious health problem that loomed over the lives of some of the characters.

    Summer Loving & Murder...
Okay, I'll admit it...I love anything Josh Landon writes. That being said, Murder in Pastel is his best. Buckle-up, sonny-boy....you're in for one wild ride. And by the very last sentence, you'll be in tears. Adolescent crushes, murderous plots, scheming, a brilliant artist vanishes leaving behind an only child. Or did he? No one is what they seem in this quaint, yet deadly, artist's community. Two words: READ IT! Cordially, Barkley Prescott
    Page turner. Kept me guessing.
This was a fantastic read/listen. Suspenseful and never a slow part. Kept me guessing.
    Spoiler:
I loved everything about this book. However, I felt extremely terrible for Brett. He had a terrible life and though he wasn't that great of a person, I still can't help but feel awful. I knew his death was necessary to move the plot along and open opportunity for romance between the two protagonists, but I wish there was more closure for him. It seemed that he was quickly forgotten and casted aside.
    Wonderful
Each time I read/hear a Josh Lanyon book I am behind thrilled. He writes so well, he gives us great stories, his books are always wonderful. This book was no exception, fabulous!
    One of the best
I love everything Mr. Lanyon writes. Have read almost all of his wonderful works. His choice of narrators has been excellent. Thank you Josh for many hours of fascinating listening. Would love to see many of your works put on film.
    An Okay First Attempt
What did you like best about Murder in Pastel? What did you like least?
The best, as always, is just Josh Lanyon's voice. He (or she- you never know with M/M) just has a natural ear for how to narrate and present characters that sound natural and real- a skill many M/M writers lack. As far as the least pleasing aspect of the book, besides the constant use of the word 'lover' (ugh! Just stop, guys! Nobody says that anymore), I would have to say the story itself. It's not bad, per se, it's just it very much feels like a first attempt, a rough draft for a better book. To be fair, I might not have felt that way had I not already read Lanyon's Adrien English series; however, having done so, it was hard to ignore some of the glaring similarities. For instance, both this book and Adrien English feature protagonists that suffer from a heart ailment resulting from a childhood bout with rheumatic fever. Both protagonists are writers with an esoteric knowledge of vintage mystery literature. Both also take digitalis for their heart condition, a medication that features in a poisoning subplot in both story lines.

Elliott is the new boy in school - again. He lives in a creepy house. His classmates ignore him. His bedroom is haunted. And, he just might be losing his mind.
Elliott isn't pleased about being exiled from Chicago to the sleepy town of Verona, Indiana, but he's determined to make the best of it. He meets Marshall, who is undoubtedly the most bizarre boy in school, but who is the only one, other than his grandmother, that Elliott can trust not to be freaked out by the ghost in his bedroom and the strange dreams that might not be dreams at all. Marshall introduces Elliott to a mismatched lot of companions: a jock, a skater, a bookworm, and a boy who dresses as if it's still the 1930s. Elliott is delighted to have friends at last, but there's something rather odd about Derrick, Cory, Jared, and Keaton. Nothing is quite as it seems in Verona, Indiana - in the present or the past.

Great and wanted it to be longer.
This is one of Mark Roder's novellas and it is right up there with his other short novels and long ones as it is a good mystery story that I enjoy by this excellent writer. I wish that this story had gone much longer. The characters are well develped and the story hos a twist that may be expected by those readers who follows Mark Roeder's writings as i do. I enjoy rereading Roeder's books over and over. They open more and more story to me by doing this. I just love his writings.
Dead Boys of Verona exceptional read.
The author has done an excellent job, on this excellent book. This has to be one of Mark's best writings that I have read. I read this book twice in one day. The story is well written, the characters are very believable. One does not suspect anything out of the ordinary until about half way through the book. Mark gives you plenty of subtle hints as to the real situation. I loved the main character Elliot. Thank you Mark for a really exceptional read. Keep up the good work. I hope that we will get meet Elliot in another exceptional book some time in the future.
    Interesting
I really want to know what happened to all of them. I guess I'll have to look up the next in the series.

    A fantastical tale...
Though the premise of the story is a bit far fetched, I found myself getting pulled into the story and I found that I enjoyed it a lot. Rich guy pursues poor guy...only in the movies, right!?! But one can get lost in the fantasy of it all. Several things I seen coming and a few things caught me by surprise, which is probably why I really liked the story. There was little doubt that Greyson and Brian would not get together but the path is full of bumps and hiccups, adding to the journey. Not sure about the comparison to FSOG, never read it or seen the movie, but from what I understand there truly is no comparison...different types of books. All-n-all, a good fantastical story!
    Amazing in every way!
The story is compelling, the Characters drew me in right away and the erotic scenes were just that! Silver and Black just melt my heart, they are sooo good together.
My favorite part, hard to say the story just sucks you in and you can't stop listening. But probably the birthday weekend.
The narrator is one of my favs by far, all the voices are easy to tell apart and Silver's voice gave me chills (in a great way).
The only thing I didn't like about this book, was when it ended. I want more of Brian Silver & Grayson Black, because the are so sweet together.
I want a sequel! I have listened to this book 3x already and I just can't put it down. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed!
    Undecided
I am completely undecided about whether I enjoyed this book or not. Firstly, the premise of the book is that a rich guy financially supports another younger guy he never met without his knowledge and then by chance, meets him and becomes interested in pursuing a relationship with him. Now, this is really quite far fetched to begin with, however the way the rich guy pursues the younger guy and the way he 'woos' him come across as kind of creepy.
The author tries to weave some kind of intrigue into the plot by having the main character stalked and setting the reader up to believe that 'something' just doesn't seem right with the rich guy, but to be honest, by the time all is revealed, I was shouting at the device playing the audiobook as I had had enough of the story being unnecessarily drawn out and prolonged.

A bit of BDSM added to the series
Alex is the teams tracker. He gets seriously injured in a rescue and is facing a lawsuit! He meets Leo in the hospital hes the cousin of Tony and a famous playboy chef.
As per usual, once Leo spots Alex he instantly knows hes the one but Alex wavers a bit.
    **
This is a little different from the others in that Leo and Alex have a serious D/s relationship too, so they have to work out those particulars in addition to the normal getting to know you stuff.
I love this series and Darcy Stark never disappoints in his narrations. This wasnt my favorite only because I really dont like the dynamics of BDSM even though its done to only a light degree here.

Michael Sebastian thought that Curacao would be the perfect place to have a little fun in the sun - and between the sheets. So far no one has struck his interest - until Sam Anderson walks into the bar. With one look at his tense body and expensive suit, Michael knows that this is a man in need of release. And Michael is more than willing to lend a hand.
Shattered by the most intense sex he's ever had, Sam has to face the facts - one night with a handsome, dominating stranger is all he gets before returning to the closet he's been suffocating in for years. But when Sam starts his new job as the CEO of a failing technology company, he discovers that Michael is one of his new employees.

    Contains mature themes.

    Members Reviews:
I absolutely loved Iggy Tomas narration!
What did you like best about Takeover? What did you like least?
I liked the narration the best, the middle and very end of the story least.
    Any additional comments?
I love the boss falling for a subordinate trope, and I especially love the whole one night stand turns into something more trope, so I was pre-disposed to loving this.
I absolutely loved Iggy Tomas narration of the story! Once again, Toma blends different character voices and situations brilliantly. I also loved the kinky dominating sex, even when it made me all squirmy.
What didnt work for me so much was the mystery with the board member, which was interesting until it came to no conclusion, which I didnt understand at all. I mean, I would have loved to have seen a final confrontation. The story also stalls midway through and could have been greatly aided by cutting about an hour and a half of gristle from the meat.
Bottom Line: The narration is rock solid, the story less so, but still recommended for those who like a little kink with their business politics.
    Great book
I loved the book and the story was good though a little short in the ending. The characters was good and I felt as I got to know them. The voice reading was very clear and read with feelings.
    Well worth a read.
So many M/M romances are thin on plot. Takeover has all the elements - engaging story, characters with some complexity, plus good 'romance'. So nice to find a book in this genre that isn't a basic Cinderella story. I hope to see more books by this author.
    Sweet, tamed MM Romance
Takeover follows the story of Sam, a successful CEO, who just sealed a deal in working with a company in Pittsburgh. He travels to Curacao before he begins this new job and is then approached by Michael. They share one helluva hot night together, then part ways the next day. This doesn't mean that their one night of passion is forgotten, when they return home, the thoughts of one another still lingers.

    Publisher's Summary:
Robbie MacIntyre manages a small post office in the old Station House on the outskirts of sleepy Barton Hartshourn, northwest of London. He's stunned when the owner, Maggie, who's a close friend, bequeaths him the post office and the Station House.
The rest of her estate is left to an American writer, Jason Young, and when he moves to the village, Robbie is thrown by the attraction he has for the man who has more of a claim on the Station House than he does.
Then, there's a box that holds several rare first editions and a cookbook. Only when the secrets of the ingredients in a particular recipe are finally revealed does everything begin to make sense, and a love cut short 70 years earlier is finally discovered.

Tails of the Curious Cookbook is the series name for an anthology of five short stories by five great writers. The writers, R.J. Scott, Amy Lane, Marie Sexton, Amber Kell, and Mary Calmes have written vastly different M/M romance stories with the unifying theme of a curious cookbook entitled Recipes for the Heart subtitled Mystical Meals and Dangerous Desserts hand written by the anonymous Granny B. The stories come in either a Kindle e-book or audible format. The cookbook is depicted as very old, tattered, faded, leather bound, and rich with notations from its users adding clarifying notations and reactions to the varies magical recipes. The recipes when prepared and served is intended to aid in sorting out some confusing romance aspect of the stories or make one feel better after a broken heart. These books will appeal to those with a romantic soul and believe in the magic of comfort food served with a side of the power of suggestion of magic.
I have written five separate reviews for each of the five stories. Please refer to the list below when looking up the appropriate review:
    1. For a Rainy Afternoon by R.J. Scott
    2. Food for Thought by Amy Lane
    3. Lost Along the Way by Marie Sexton
    4. Cookies for Courting by Amber Kell
    5. Just Desserts by Mary Calmes
For a Rainy Afternoon: Tails of the Curious Cookbook by R.J. Scott narrated by Ian Gordon. This tale is set in a small English country village named Barton Hartshourn. It has a nostalgic element of two brothers who meet two English sisters and fall in love during World War II. Sadly one brother is killed in a bombing raid over Germany and the other sister marries her yank and returns to America. The remaining English sister, Maggie, becomes an author and resides in Apple Cottage.
Years later Maggie befriends Robbie MacIntyre, a recent un-rooted University graduate, and sets him up in a small tea shop, library, and post office business in an old Station House. Upon her death she wills the Station House to Robbie and Apple Cottage to her American grandnephew Jason Young (also a budding author). Through the device of the magical cookbook Maggie match makes romance beyond the grave between the two main characters. This is an utterly charming story well narrated by Mr. Gordon.
    Feel Good Story!
