    Publisher's Summary:
The maelstrom of Northern Iraq. A battleground where the blood-soaked warriors of ISIS pursue their vengeful quest to build an Islamic Caliphate. The world watches in horror as they rape, murder and pillage in pursuit of their brutal agenda.
When CIA agent Marv Cohagen and his two SEAL bodyguards are kidnapped in the desert, a deadly new threat looms over the West. Cohagen is a drone expert, and his knowledge could equip the enemy with the means to create the unthinkable. An ISIS air force of robotic aircraft. Unmanned. Unaccountable. Loaded with explosives, and able to strike terror anywhere in the West at a moment's notice.
An urgent recall goes out for Lieutenant Kyle Nolan to lead two teams of SEALs into Iraq. Their mission, to recover the drone expert at all costs. Or eliminate him. The SEALS soon encounter an enemy more powerful than they could ever have imagined. First they have to face and conquer the cave stronghold of Jahannam, and then fight their way into the ISIS controlled city of Mosul. SEAL Team Bravo is forced to reach deep into their reserves of strength, skill and courage to force back the savage hordes of Islamic extremists that threaten to overrun them at every turn.

An incredibly intense story that stole my attention throughout.
The seal team bravo series is absolutely exhilarating and intense. I have read a couple of Meyerâs books and am quite pleased with each of them. This book caught me by surprise as Nolan returned and came back to deliver more hurt to ISIS. My favorite thing about Meyerâs books is they are written with such intense detail that allows me to feel like I am part of the scene itself. During certain parts of the book, I could see myself in the Middle East fighting the scum of the earth. Reading about the multiple battles that the team faces through the Middle East kept me on the edge of my seat craving for more. There were quite a few points where I looked up and a couple hours had passed to my surprise. I look forward to reading more stories about SEAL Team Bravo, they are certainly my favorite books when it comes to intense action packed novels.
    Fast Read
I liked this book but got lost with the main character. In most books that I have read the main character is recognizable from the get go. He is extremely characterized and you know how he thinks and looks. He is easily identifiable amongst all the other characters. I got lost with the main character. The book moves fast regarding plots. No real surprise really. The team had a mission and they fulfilled it. Also, I think there were areas of the book when it referred to probably a previous book. The writer didn't fulfill connecting the two books. Why do you keep bringing up a previous mission and not explain why it was even necessary to mention it now. Confusing. I enjoyed reading the book, got lost with characters a few times.
Bravo Into the Teeth of ISIS
Another almost impossible mission for SEAL Team Bravo. Once again it's the terror group ISIS trying to get American drones to use to attack American assets in Iraq. With some "help" from SEAL Team Alpha they face all kinds of obstacles from climbing a shear rock face, a battle in a tunnel, counter attacks, a traitor, capture, beatings and more. This is one of the best books in the series. Great action, twists and turns.

Life is short and justice a rare commodity in the harsh wastelands of Afghanistan. Navy SEAL Lieutenant Rafe Stoner is about to encounter this cruel truth the hard way. An operation goes tragically wrong, and a Taliban sniper team ambushes a UNHCR ambulance. One of the dead is the woman with whom he intended to start a new life. Stoner turns his back on civilization, and begins a new career as a gun-for-hire in the bitter land ruled by the bomb and the bullet.

    Release date: 08-25-15

    Publisher's Summary:
In a world of lies, one man wants the truth.
Fearing for his life, journalist Philip Mangan has gone into hiding from the Chinese agents who have identified him as a Western spy. His reputation and life are in tatters. But when he is caught in a terrorist attack in East Africa and a shadowy Chinese figure approaches him in the dead of night with information on the origins of the attack, Mangan is suddenly back in the eye of the storm.
Meanwhile, thousands of miles away on a humid Hong Kong night, a key British Intelligence source is murdered minutes after meeting spy Trish Patterson. From Washington, DC, to the hallowed halls of Oxford University and dusty African streets, a sinister power is stirring that will use Mangan and Patterson as its pawns - if they survive.
Deeply steeped in tension and paranoia, Adam Brookes' follow-up to his award-nominated debut is a remarkable, groundbreaking spy thriller.

    Dirty Game of Spy-craft
Second book in series. Tells a lot about the spy world as it is not as we wish it could be. Tells a lot about the China few know or realize. Will look forward to future books by Mr. Brookes.
    The Modern Spy Novel
If you could sum up Spy Games in three words, what would they be?
    Globally connected thriller.
What other book might you compare Spy Games to and why?
Of course, Spy Games can be compared to the first novel in this series, Night Heron, and serves as an excellent follow up. While Spy Games can be taken in on its own, I would highly recommend those interested in exploring this book to begin with the first installment as they do build on each other.
    Any additional comments?
I've been a reader of old-school spy thrillers for a long while, but have found that over the last decade (at least) the classic approaches have really lost their luster, clinging to cold war dynamics. Adam Brookes brings a more contemporary, global, perspective to his work by weaving characters together not only in multiple countries, but through drawing on themes that touch on modern espionage, international industry, and related struggles with inequality. It's particularly notable that within this genre Brookes is one of the few to include rich involvement of characters and story lines that bring China into the fold - and in a rather informed way, to boot!
My one issue is that his books (and Spy Games in particular) remain rather short, which make the introduction of such abundant subjects and characters somewhat thin. That being said, it allows for a quick (and fast paced) listen. I look forward to new installments and would recommend Spy Games particularly to those who have read/listened to Night Heron.

Bernard Samson returns to Berlin in the first novel in the classic spy trilogy Faith, Hope and Charity.
Bernard has known that he is not getting the full picture from London Central ever since discovering that his wife, Fiona, was a double agent.
Werner Volkmann has been cast out by London Central as untrustworthy. Yet Werner still seems able to pick up information that Bernard should have been told.
This new reissue includes a foreword from the cover designer, Oscar-winning filmmaker Arnold Schwartzman, and a brand-new introduction by Len Deighton, which offers a fascinating insight into the writing of the story.

"A string of brilliantly mounted set-pieces...superbly laconic wisecracks." (The Times)
"Like lying back in a hot bath with a large malt whisky - absolute bliss...superbly combines violent action with a strong emotional undertow. The plotting in Faith is masterly, the atmospheric descriptions superb...." (Sunday Telegraph)

Superb characters with the spine of the story getting stronger.
Only read if you have read all the others before it though....
Deeper & deeper into the murk !
No one can do it like Leighton! Will Bernard survive? Can Bernard survive. truly a brilliant series!!
    Len Deighton Class Warrior!!
All the cliches about Len Deighton novels are true - cool, clever, subtle and very English. He is a smart observer of the British classs
Ystem and how it feeds through into political system
    Classis Cold War drama
Another good one. Number 7 in the triple trilogy. Wonderful series, well worth starting at the beginning - Berlin Game - with excellent narration .
This volume is a little more Bernard than spy drama.
Red them all in the 80's and unlike much of the literature of this era, despite centering around the Berlin Wall , they are just are fresh and riveting.
Good plot, excellent characters , fine writing and top narration.
Terrific retro political & secret service stories
Probably some of the best stories that have been written about this period and the men and women who are intertwined with one another in the post war secret services up to the present (well then it was). Highly recommended m!

In 2003, in the chaos surrounding the Iraq War and the fall of Baghdad, a team of top freelance assassins infiltrates and then escapes the country with a near priceless treasure. Since then there's been barely a whisper of a rumor of those men, the treasure, and what it actually means.
A decade later Judd Ryder returns to the DC area from a covert operation in Iraq to see his doppelganger across the street, a man who is wearing his clothes, living in his house, and pretending to be him. Just as he's about to confront him, Ryder watches as his double is killed in an all-too-convenient car accident. Not only was someone pretending to be him, someone else wanted to kill him.
As he soon learns, the key to all of this is a legendary Cold War freelance assassin known as the Carnivore. Ryder and his colleague, Eva Blake, were the last two people known to have had contact with him. Now someone is trying to use them to lure the Carnivore out of retirement or hiding, wherever he might be. At stake appears to be a treasure of unimaginable value. And the players are the most dangerous freelancers on the world stage.
Now Ryder and Blake must use every resource at their disposal to outmaneuver the forces allied against them, stay alive, and, if possible, uncover the truth that lurks in the shadows of this deadly game of assassins.

A very fast-paced Action Adventure Thriller with great characters that will keep you listening from start to finish. Gayle Lynds is a master of the Thriller and Spy genres.
Story is all over the place
This story bounces around and for a group of Assassins to get kill so easy and nonchalantly, it takes away how good these guys are suppose to be. Read another book, you will not enjoy this one.
    this book will entertain you.
excellent story. kept me glued to my earphones.
was well reserached. the characters were real and the dialogue spot on.
    Enough Already!!
    Torturous Cliché Riddled Junk!
    Do Americans really say "arse" . . . ?
As lame and convoluted as this espionage fantasy may be, what I really take exception to is the serendipitous way people die in this novel.
Faces and heads explode and lives wink out with all the care and consideration and feeling of a light bulb being switched off.
With so many real people dying in real churches and real movie theaters and real school buildings . . . I find myself objecting to the casual, carnal mayhem, Ms Lynds so cavalierly imagines all across this pointless piece of garbage.
Maybe I've just grown up to the point where I don't find this kind of stuff entertaining anymore.
    Cannot recommend
I chose this for a reading challenge that included the category of "espionage thriller." I was intrigued by the idea of a female author. However, this is badly written, even for a genre that is not known for high literature. There are words used incorrectly and full sentences that make no sense, and of course a couple of plot holes and a continuity issue.

    Will read/listen to this again
Started with Red Sparrow. Loved Red Sparrow and never believed Book 2 could be as good. Proved me wrong. The layers and complexity in the story. Love this series. Had me chuckling at times too - looking idiotic with my headphones on. Looking forward to the next book. Thank you, Jason.
    Greeat story BUT ...
l loved the story with its strands of plot around different characters. There was plenty of suspense as l felt there was no guarantee that the "good guys" would win nor all of their characters survive.
Far more realistic and credible than many books in its genre and highly recommended with ONE EXCEPTION.
I found the narratir's attempt to change her voice to represent different characters not just bad but appalling. For the early stages of the book l found it a big turnoff which made me angry as in "how the hell did she get this job?"
But the compelling storyline kept me there and while her character portrayal never improved l generally became desensitized to it.
    Bad narrator and poor writing
Why change the narrator in a series? First book was ok and I hoped this would be better but no such luck! I can't understand the 5 star reviews, if you're looking for a book about the CIA 'The Company' by Robert Littell is a much better choice.
    Nationalism is power hunger
    tempered by self-deception." George Orwell
This is a an entertaining story that moves fluidly with in its make believe world. Do not expect insights into real politics or realistic human frailties, like James Bond the characters inhabit a world that is a parallel representation of ours, with even more exaggerated jingoism from every one, and a very much alive cold war.
The writer Jason Matthews is in the trade but I doubt that he has exposed any tech or real trade secrets, it is all very much a dig at Russia that is not very serious or credible, if I was sixteen I would have loved it but my experience and age prevent me from enjoying such a simplistic geopolitical scrimmages and name calling of real people that are much more astute, dangerous and complex in real life than any of the representation in this book.
A good few hours of light entertainment, disengage brain and dive in the fantasy.
Don't go to Russia Mr Matthews!
Blimey, I wouldn't portray Putin in that light and expect to live!
A challenging book with a nice twist or two.

Will Corey find Petrov and put a stop to whatever he has planned before it's too late? Or will Corey finally be outrun and outsmarted, with America facing the prospect of a crippling attack unlike anything it's ever seen before?
Prescient and chilling. DeMille's new novel takes us into the heart of a new Cold War with a clock-ticking plot that has Manhattan in its crosshairs.

    Disappointing
Scott Brick's overly dramatic performance completely ruins DeMille's books for me on audio. He accents EVERY WORD AS IF IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. He could not make up his mind as to the villain's correct name. Sometimes the accent was on the first syllable but most often it was on the last. Such a poor performance.

Alan McDermott's Tom Gray series continues to earn 5 stars. Gray Vengeance includes a near apocalyptic strike on the UK led by a government minister. It also highlights the degree to which some western countries are spying on their own citizens. There is an interesting twist at the end the brings into question the future of Tom Gray and Melissa (his one year old daughter). James Langton's narration is superb as always.
The next book in the series titled Gray Salvation will be released on March 6 and is now available for preorder at Audible.
Best of the series so far
Well written, fast moving storyline that balances a number of threads that are inevitably woven into a satisfying tapestry. There is some measure of (literally) "deus ex machina" to the tale but it is woven in early and becomes an acceptable part of the overall story. Much more non-stop action in this book and it fits nicely into the "action thriller" category. Narration is as always excellent. Looking forward to the sixth book of the series.
    Lecture
The book has no substance. It pushes the white people are evil and everyone else is misunderstood by them. He should go back to writing books and stop lecturing people
