Very Nicely Done

Firstly, the book is well written and uses good source material. The author does a nice job of focusing on Kick and not getting us lost down the whole Kennedy rabbit hole. Tough to do but she nailed the right balance. I felt as if Kick told the story herself. I connected with her in 2016 as she was in the 1930s and 1940s. She did enjoy a life of privilege but also lived that life grounded in reality. She is someone that I would love to have called my friend.

Secondly, the narrator does a great job. She made the book more enjoyable.

I highly recommend this Audible selection. It is a great biography steeped in history with genuine interpersonal conflict.

Good To Know; Now What?

I am an avid researcher of the assassination of both John and Bobby, so when I saw this book, I thought it would be great to read and know. It was quite interesting for the most part but it also smacked of a certain level of upper-class dis-connection. I found there were a lot of dates, names and incidents, which did not spin my propeller. Ouch, considering the number of Kennedy family members who suffered from plane crashes.....

It is a good book indeed and adds to my feelings of sadness for all the Kennedys have endured. But then, there are millions who have endured similar; we just don't know about them because the others are just... "others."

However, Virginia Tech did not offer Steph a scholarship. Steph was offered scholarships to Davidson, VCU, and Winthrop.

Curry played college basketball for Davidson, where he was twice named Southern Conference player of the year, setting the all-time scoring record for both Davidson and the Southern Conference. During his sophomore year he set the single-season NCAA record for the three-pointers made.

Curry went on to be drafted by the Golden State Warriors during the 2009 NBA Draft. However because of his recurring injuries, during his first three years he was compared to Grant Hill, whose large potential wasn't fully realized due to being constantly injured very early in his career. Like most of the things in Curry's life, he bounced back and improved tremendously, setting records on his way to stardom.

Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry is definitely a phenomenon and a rare breed of athlete that combines family life and sports, a rare thing for athletes to do, perfectly.

Just OK

I'm not super familiar with basketball, so perhaps this is where I struggled. Tamika is clearly a gifted athlete, and while this book starts out strong with her discovery of her love of the sport, it gets bogged down with statistics (nearly two hours is spent on her first season of college games alone) and preachiness (basketball was the most important thing in her life, then she realized she needed to play for God).

I'm not one to say athletes can't believe in God, or use their platform that way, but I wanted more and found this book just didn't get carried through for me.

Amazing

This book was an amazing blend of work ethic and a Godly purpose. Tamika's ability to keep a perspective on Good through all adversity is truly inspiring.

Exemplary human being. Drogba's way of beliving in himself 100%, his rise into leadership and path to become the ultimate big game player for Chelsea FC, along with his humanitarian efforts in Ivory Coast and Africa makes him my favorite role model. I'm a passionate football fan and Chelsea supporter which made the detailed descriptions of a few plays and the way he illustrates his emotions, much more enjoyable. Loved the tenacity he has demonstrated throught his life. Recommended for anyone seeking a story about a fully potent mentor and even more towards football fans.

Outstanding!

I've read quite a lot of sports autobiographies and often been left wondering why I bothered - they're elite athletes that train, eat and rest... why was I expecting it to be entertaining!?

And then I read this. It's insightful, funny, moving, heartfelt, inspiring and thoroughly entertaining throughout. The trouble with a book as good as this is that others will surely pale in comparison!

The narration is excellent and captures the emotion and personality with which the book was written.

This is surely destined to be a classic cycling book - essential reading for any cycling fan for the next 50 years!

Fantastic

Liked David Millar's first book, this was also great. Interesting perspective on the sport and not the usual fairy tales associated with sports biographies.

Absolutely Brilliant!!!!

Having been a fan of road racing for a number of years this book allows access to what it is actually like to be a world class cyclist over the period of a year!

The flashbacks to previous years are a welcome historical reminder of Davids previous experiences and fit in extremely well!

Laugh out loud moments contrast with 'watery eye' time as we get to fully understand the intense competition involved at this level together with the respect and camaraderie that such intensity at this higher echelon brings!

Superbly written and perfectly brilliant narration make this one of the best books that I have ever heard/listened to!

I cannot rate or recommend this experience highly enough and want to listen to it again immediately!
