    Publisher's Summary:
On her 17th birthday, Megan of Chaumont discovers she'll be sold as a bride to the brutish Volodane family - within hours.
Her father grants only that she may choose which one of the ruthless, grasping lord's three sons she weds: Rolf, the eldest: stern, ambitious, and loyal? Sebastian, the second son: sympathetic, sly, and rebellious? Or Kai, the youngest: bitter, brooding, and proud?
As shy, horrified Megan flees the welcome dinner for her in-laws-to-be, she finds an enchanted mirror that will display how her life unrolls with each man, as if she were living it out in a breath. But there is no smooth "happily ever after" in her choices.
Deaths and honors, joys and agonies, intrigues and escapes await her in a remote, ramshackle keep, where these rough but complex men reveal one side and then another of their jagged characters - and bring forth new aspects of Megan, too. But the decisions of one teenaged marriage-pawn reverberate much farther than any of them have guessed....

pretty good, good book do recommend
    Through a Dark Glass
Megan finds out on her eighteenth birthday she is to marry one of the Volodane brothers after her sister dies. Her family is heavily in debt but are still a family of standing. The Volodane's have wealth but no standing in society. The match will improve their standing in society and help Megan's family with their debt. Her only saving grace is Megan gets to choose which of the three brothers she wants to marry.
During dinner, Megan becomes flustered knowing she's being forced to do this and she has to get some fresh air. Once she flees, she goes to a cellar she frequented as a child for comfort. There a lady appears in a magic mirror and offers Megan a chance to see her future with each of the brothers, thereby helping her make the right choice for her.
Through a Dark Glass was an unexpected read for me! The blurb intrigued me, but I usually do not read Young Adult. I was pleasantly surprised! This book was very interesting and definitely held my interest. It has a historical feel because of the rules of society and how women were viewed during this period of time.
The idea of getting a glimpse of one's future when faced with a difficult choice leads to quite a story! Although some of the events still happen with each brother, each vision has a twist. Each vision was different enough though with each brother having their own way of treating Megan. I had my favorite brother, and in the end I knew which I would have chosen. I was pleased when Megan chose the same path!
If you are looking for a fanciful romance, this is not that book though. There are romantic elements, but that is not the main focus. This story was well-written and moved along at a good pace. Being the first book in the Dark Glass series, I see subsequent books having bigger variances in the visions of the choices to make. I enjoyed it, and all and all, it was a good start to Barb Hendee's new series!
    5 Stars/2 Flames
    Through a Dark Glass

Meganâs parents are deeply in debt but still have their good family name and the Volodaneâs have offered to help to hopefully improve their standing by marrying into Meganâs family.

    Well written. Recommended
Don't write many reviews and grade harshly by most lights but this was an entertaining read and deserves a review. I liked this book better than the first, which was itself good enough to try this second one. Usually, authors have trouble with second books, forgetting to keep the action and tension going and just hashing out character details with tired plotting. This was a welcome exception and bodes well for the next in the series. Overall, good continued character development and a little action, though more would be welcome. A little romance but not overdone. The author has a fair "voice" and demonstrates good construction and other writing skills. Overall - recommended.

Angela Roquet is one of my favorite urban fantasy writers - and I love her Blood Vice series most of all! It's got a touch of all my favorite genres: crime, mystery, vampires, werewolves, and romance. You'll laugh out loud, you'll tear up --and you'll love the wonderful characters and world she's created here.
Though I love Blood and Thunder, Blood Vice Book 2 even more than Blood Vice, Book 1-- you should read the first book in the journey in order to appreciate Detective Jenna Skye's rough transition into vamphood.
    No spoilers
I love love this series and can't wait for more. Thank you Ms Roquet for putting such a really fun, suspenseful , read out. Keep them comming the faster the better. Try the spotless series by camilla monk it's not a paranormal read but very very good or amanda m lee mystic caravan another very good read then will have another of the fantastic series .

Book Six in the From the Files of the BSI series.

Not best, but still pretty damn good.
Not the best in the series, but still a solid and exciting read.
    Loved this dark urban fantasy
I ainât afraid of no ghost. Yeah, right. An office building is taken over by an evil entity and everyone runs for cover. Who you gonna call? The BSI. And when they send a team and the team never comes out, who do they call? Kal Hakala, thatâs who.
Kal is one of the best agents in the BSI (Bureau of Supernatural Investigation), but heâs been riding a desk since a dust up and some bad decisions on his last mission. He takes the assignment and hand picks his team. All except for one. A magician is required for every team. It only makes sense to fight magic with magic.
Kal picks a motley crew, but he has his reasons.
Rat. The magician. Not picked by Kal. A pervert and totally unlikable. Hopefully heâll have the right stuff when the going gets tough.
Dove. A hell cat. Sheâs double tough and a match for any man. But itâs no man waiting inside that building.
Ghost. With an IQ off the charts, he joined his mind with the internet. The go to guy without a body, heâs linked to each team member by their headsets.
Billings. A diagnosed sociopath who, so far, has curbed his impulses to killing what needs to be killed and not his own team.
Ng. To look at him, youâd think he has no business being on the team. But heâs calm in a crisis with a fight tooth and nail attitude.
And then thereâs Buffalo. Super smart. Competitive and goal oriented. Built like a tank and a good guy.
They enter the building. What awaits them is anyoneâs guess. Who will come out? Maybe nobody.
Hang on to your boot straps. This is one hell of a ride. The thing in the building isnât a ghost. Itâs something much worse. Not long after entering, the team becomes separated and each must face their own horror. They go to hell and back, not all of them making it out alive.
Thereâs something about a book that wonât let go. That keeps you focused on the next sentence, paragraph, page. I tore through this, fearing the worst and getting plenty of it.
If youâre a fan of horror and thriller movies, thereâs lots of quips youâll recognize. I caught myself looking for them.
My best description of this book: Predator meets Doom.

Excellent story, however I would've given it five stars if it weren't for the poor grammar. That didn't bother me enough to not read the book though. I suggest you purchase this if you like to read stories about people who have experienced bigfoot!
    Good story, but...
Good Story, and it kept me engaged despite some annoying sentences with tense issues.
It seemed unusually short for the price & in my humble opinion all 3 books should have been combined into one.
But the story itself is good and the author seemed credible.
    Good Read!
Almost through with reading it....very interesting as I love these stories
    2nd Book
    good story continued...
    The Good and the Bad
I definitely believe in the existence of Bigfoot and have been on a couple of expeditions. This book is undoubtedly true. However, there are a couple of things that could be improved. I'm not a perfectionist, but the author needs to find someone to edit or at least proofread her writing. I've read the first two stories and she jumps from past to present tense and it's distracting. There are other grammar errors that a decent proofreader or English teacher would catch easily.
The second problem I have is with the author's husband. He was the first one to see their Bigfoot, but he is constantly in denial about it and this really gets old. When Jada sees the Bigfoot throw a log at him and it knocks him off his tractor and severely injures him, he denies her story when she tells him what happened. He claims the log fell off the pile and knocked him off his tractor. Yeah, right.
I kept waiting for her to stand up to him, but she seemed to be the good, 1950's wife who goes along with her husband even when he is wrong. There are many other instances of this in the first two books. It gets old. Anyhow I'm always interested in accounts of Bigfoot so I'm going to read the 3rd book but I'm hoping Jake (Jada's husband) is ready to admit what's going on and they either move or come to grips with having a Bigfoot on their property.

    Superbly crafted
What a wonderful surprise from a first-time author this book turned out to be. Similar to Stephen King's Dark Tower series, a line from a classic poem serves as the foundational title to this book. With a sense of home often felt in a Madeline L'engle book, the female lead of the story takes us through a mystery and adventure that was not made using the same flimsy, dystopian future cookie cutter that has been used by so many popular teen angst books of late. they all have the same feel. This book was unique and refreshing and left me guessing as to whether or not I had figured out the mystery up until the very end.
There is no worse language in the book than you would find in an intense Star Trek the Next Generation episode. There is nothing even approaching sexually explicit. And best of all, nobody sparkles.

A Victorian urban fantasy featuring duelists, demons, and the dark arts, inspired by The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Victorian London is a place of fluid social roles, vibrant arts culture, fin-de-siecle wonders...and dangerous underground diabolic cults. Fencer Evadne Gray cares for none of the former and knows nothing of the latter when she's sent to London to chaperone her younger sister, aspiring art critic Dorina.
Unfortunately for Evadne, she soon learns too much about all of it when Dorina meets their uncle's friend, Lady Henrietta "Henry" Wotton. A semi-respectable aristocrat in public, in private she is secretly in the thrall of a demon obsessed with beauty and pleasure. When Lady Henry and Dorina immediately hit it off, Evadne abandons her chaperone duties and enrolls in a fencing school. There, she meets the fencing master she's always dreamed of.
But soon, George reveals he is more than just a teacher. He has dedicated himself to eradicating demons and their servants, and he needs Evadne's help. As Evadne gets pulled further into this hidden world, she begins to suspect that Lady Henry might actually be a diabolist. Even worse, she believes Dorina may have joined her.
Combining swordplay, demons, and high society, Creatures of Will and Temper shows a timeless world and adventure listeners won't soon forget.

    Imaginative and suspenseful
I was unsure about the story going in, not being overly fond of romance or Victorian manners and propriety, but Tanzer won me over with her intriguing and imaginative demonology, and a suspenseful and expertly plotted storyline.
    Interesting, Fresh, and Imaginative
I went into this book not knowing what to expect, and was delighted to discover interesting and very human characters and a compelling little mythology. A fun and imaginative little riff off The Picture of Dorian Gray. I think Oscar Wilde would be flattered.
Great narration. Definitely worth the read.

I really enjoyed reading about Colin's introduction into the magic realm
Druid Blood is an introduction to the character of Colin McCool from Junkyard Druid. This story is toned down as it was originally for young adults were as the main series is targeted for adults.
I really enjoyed reading about Colin's introduction into the magic realm. I liked getting this sneak peak into Colin's life before Junkyard Druid and feel that it makes the events in the beginning of Junkyard Druid so much more meaningful and heartbreaking.
    He gets cursed
Great beginning for a series. Don't know if I wanted to laugh at times or cry for some of the things he goes thru or both. Colin has a smart mouth and is not afraid to use, sometimes at the wrong time, mostly because his doesn't know how to relate to others. No that is not why he gets cursed.
    Great story
Got free for a honest review.
Loved the characters Colin and Jesse. Nice steady pace of Colin recruiting his best friend Jesse to help go after the evil that changed his town. The were spots the two could have you laughing.
Thank you, for letting me read your story.
    Awesome
What a great prologue. I have to admit that I have not read any of the other books in this series as of yet but after this I most deffenatly will. It has just enough lore to catch your interest and action to hold it. I would defiantly recommend this book.
    In the beginning...
I enjoy Massey's work and this prequel, his first novel, lives up to the rest of the series. I would love to have more of Jesse before Junkyard Druid, she does seem like a pretty cool girlfriend for our hero.

    Why not an Englishwoman?
It irks me that this is an English book, written by an English woman, that takes place in England but to narrator is an American putting on a mediocre English accent. Makes no sense and really takes away from the story.

    Excellent!
Well put together and unique in approach. A refreshing change within the genre! Looking forward to what comes next.
    Interesting and Imperfect Protagonist
I loved this book, I liked how the protagonist was not perfect but he did not apologize for his past. It was interesting how he was introduced to the magical world, there was a lot of action and I liked getting to figure things out along with the main character!
    **Spolier Alert**
I loved the Reaper aspect that was introduced, admittedly he was a bit overpowered but sometimes I love a book where the protagonist kicks butt and takes names.
Cannot wait for the next in the series!
Looking forward to the next one!
Where does Accession of the Stone Born: The Vigiles Urbani Chronicles rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

Paul Clewell's reading of the book is as good as or possibly even better than the actual writing and the writing is not bad, especially for a new series. Lange introduces an intriguing modern day magic world and characters in whom you can feel invested.
    can't for the next one
the story is awesome. the narrator took a bit of getting used to but overall it was awesome!!!
    original and entertaining
I'm a fan of all kinds of fantasy and this is a great original. I've never read/listened to anything like this before. I loved the narrator and his voices. I loved the story and the plot. I just wish the pacing of the story was a little slower. Don't get me wrong, I love action but it just seemed like poor Gavin had no room to breathe and reflect. Overall I enjoyed the book a lot and found myself constant my thinking about it.
