    Title: Lazy Son
    Subtitle: Hell's Son, Book 1
    Author: Eve Langlais
    Narrator: Tyler Donne
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 7 hrs and 12 mins
    Language: English

Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Paranormal
    Publisher's Summary:
The problem with being born with expectations is the failure to live up to any. Christopher might be the antichrist, but taking over the world and leading the minions of darkness sounds like a lot of work. And while slacking is a sin his supposed dad Lucifer approves of, his lack of goals is a problem.
Personally, Christopher would rather just work hard enough to make ends meet - and maybe buy a six-pack. But fate is conspiring against him. For some reason, the dead won't stay in the ground, apparently he's not an only child, he has sisters, and this hot chick he met in the cemetery refuses to sleep with him.
It's time for this lazy prince in waiting to rise to the occasion and embrace destiny - or at least make out with it.

    Love meeting Lucifer's son
This series is set in the same world as Eves Princess of Hell and Welcome to Hell series. That being said, you do NOT have to have read either series before starting this series (this actually takes place prior to either series, per Eves Facebook post). This story stood alone just fine. You will get to meet Muriel, Bambi and Lucifer from the other series. There is also Isobel who had a small part in Wickedest Witch, (which sadly I havent read yet)
So Christopher is raised on Earth as part of a cult. His mother has always treated him special, but not like most mothers treat their kids special. Christopher has been told that he is the Antichrist (I guess that is pretty special).
So Chris has grown up believing that he is the son of the devil, but everyone knows that the devil only has daughters. Isobel is a witch. They meet in a cemetery that Chris is staying at as the groundskeeper and grave digger. Isobel wants to say her respects to a friend. Only then zombies start to rise. As in a lot of zombies, and Chris and her fight them off. How can things not turn into a relationship after a meeting like that.
This is a really fun story, exactly what you would expect from Eve Langlais. It is full of laughs. I really enjoyed meeting Christopher and Isobel and seeing how they come together. There is a cliffhanger ending. Im really interested in seeing where Eve takes the Hells Son series. Im such a big fan of the Lucifer books. I just hope now that Chris has finally met his son, we will get more of Lucifer in the next book (there will never be enough Lucifer in any book for me).
    Narration
This is my first book with Tyler Donne. I really liked him. He was perfect for Christopher. He really knew how to bring out the humor in Eves story. I also thought he did well with the female voices in the book. There are some great accents in this book. I was a little surprised by Lucifers voice. It wasnt bad, but just not what I was expecting. I havent listened to any of the series that feature Lucifer before, so this is my first time hearing him. Again, not bad, just caught me off guard at first.
**I like to thank the author for providing me with a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
    My new favorite character
this was my first audible book. I loved it. Great story,as usual. I'm exited for the next one in the series. I laughed out loud in several different places. Highly recommend. BTW, the narrator s Russian accent was funny. I liked it.
Lucifer's Son is Found Finally! :)
Christopher has been raised in a cult that worshiped him as the next ruler of Hades.

    Good story
I found it interesting that the title character was only mentioned in passing until the last pages. I am hoping the Sprightblood sisters end up being heroines rather than the contrary. We will see. The story continues clean and interesting. I am enjoying this series and will pass it on to the youngsters of my acquaintance.
    Three Stars
    Great!
Last of The Keeper's saga, a good read on it's own.
The last book ties up a lot of plots and is a good adventure on it's own. There is closure to all storylines. I recommend this final book in The Keepers saga. Enjoy Wynter's War.

    Publisher's Summary:
Legions of murderous undead, Haitian voodoo, and a 5,000-year-old serpent god.
Yeah, 'cause that's exactly what Yancy Lazarus needs in his life: more complications. As if being the Hand of Fate and the newly appointed guardian over one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse wasn't headache enough.
All Yancy wants is an easy life on the open road - chock-full of ribs, beer, cigarettes, and smoky bars blaring with gritty blues music - but that just isn't in the cards. Nope, not anymore. He's been charged with saving the world, and now that he's got a no-shit demon riding shotgun in his head, he's sorta committed to the cause.
If Yancy can't sort through this colossal heap of bullshit, he's coffin bound. But, he's not dead yet. In fact, he even has a lead.
Turns out one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse - the pale Rider, Death - is slumming around in one of Yancy's old haunts. In order to corner this new threat, though, Yancy's gonna have to face some deadly supernatural nightmares from his distant past. And, to make matters worse, he's not the only one trailing the Pale Rider. A powerful new mage with some serious magical chops is also aiming to find the Fourth Seal and he'll do whatever it takes to win. Even if it means hurting those closest to Yancy...like FBI Agent Nicole Ferraro.

    Fun, but wheres the rest?
I am not in love with the narrator, but the story is fun. I need more now.
This series is really picking up steam!!
This is one of my new favorites! The story and character are great and the narrator has really grown on me. Overall, excellent!!
    Yancy really kicks it!
    : hard-boiled, urban-fantasy, fantasy, paranormal, action-adventure, snarky, exmilitary, audiobook
Always a good read, Hunter keeps the pace and the interest while the snarkiness just keeps getting better. The guild has lost its mind, and now Yancy is saddled with a desk jockey as his parole supervisor. There is lots of scary stuff, but the publisher's blurb gives hints and there is no need for spoilers here. I loved it!
Charlie Kevin continues to be terrific as Yancy's narrator!
An adventure not to be missed
I enjoyed reading about Yancy Lazarus and his trial and tribulations trying to do the right thing and save the world. Charlie Kevin, narrator, was amazing and brought Yancy to life. His voice was right on the mark and the inflections, reactions and changes in characters were just like watching a movie. The story is amazing. The characters are vivid and the narrator only added to the enjoyment.
    Love it!!!
Lots of action for Yancey. Yancey is the Forth Seal. Plus zombies, demons and Voodoo. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

    Publisher's Summary:
Twentysomething bartender Jason Bishop's world is shattered when his estranged father commits suicide, but the greater shock comes when he learns his father was a secret agent in the employ of the Invisible Hand, an ancient society of spies wielding magic in a centuries-spanning war. Now, the Golden Dawn, the shadowy cabal of witches and warlocks responsible for Daniel Bishop's murder and for the death of Jason's mother years before, have Jason in their sights. His survival will depend on mastering his own dormant magic abilities, providing he makes it through the training.
From New York to Paris and to a world between worlds, Jason's journey through the realm of magic will be fraught with peril. But with enemies and allies on both sides of this war, whom can he trust? The Invisible Hand, who have been more of a family than his own family ever was? The Golden Dawn, who may know the secrets behind his mysterious lineage?
For Jason Bishop, only one thing is for certain: The magic he has slowly been mastering is telling him not to trust anybody.
    Members Reviews:
    Good start
This was a great, fast paced, easily read, action packed story. It was very interesting and worth the read. The world within Magicians Impossible is enthralling and fascinating, but it's paired with a simple, to a point of it seeming convenient plot. I felt like there was more story to read, but there were no more words. The ending gave me no resolution whatsoever because the entire story read in a very run of the mill way.
Which really sucked because the characters are awesome; all the supporting characters and foes (there are many) are all terrific. There are twist and turns in this fantasy paranormal novel.
The mundanes, humans without magic, live in a world unaware that magic exists. In this world, changes in the mundane world are not permanent. There are 2 fractions fighting each other. The Invisible Hand which stands for Order, and the Golden Dawn which stands for chaos. The Invisible Hand is comprised of actual mages, while the Golden Dawn is comprised of wizards, (non-magical humans who cast spells).
The protagonist is Jason. He is a thirty-year-old bartender. We meet him going to the funeral of his estranged father who committed suicide. His world is turned upside down when he is told that his father was a magician. That begins his discovery of his magic.
Jason is with the Invisible Hand, the same organization as his father. Jasons father was murdered by the Red Queen of the Golden Dawn. These groups are chasing the Sphere of Destiny. Of course, Jason is the main character needed in obtaining and using the sphere. The Hogwarts of Magicians Impossible is the Citadel. It is filled with doors to every location on Earth. It is pretty much impregnable.
Jason begins as a person who needs love and to believe in something. Finding his magic and others like him infuses him with life. As he is drawn further and further into the conflict between The Invisible Hand and The Golden Dawn, he finds that he is not sure who he can trust, if anybody. At that point Brad Abraham plants to many twist and turns in the plot that it becomes overwhelming.
I'm a person who really needs to know the why. I like things to make sense and be justified. I know the reader must suspend their belief in things to enjoy the paranormal.

Failing grades. Misleading wind vampires. And a fortune in forgotten gold.
Traveling to the most remote region of China certainly wasn't what Ben Vecchio had in mind for his summer vacation, but when Tenzin suggested a quick trip, he could hardly turn down a chance to keep her out of trouble and practice the Mandarin he still struggled with in class.
Of course, Tenzin might not have been clear about everything travel entailed.
Driving a truck full of rotting vegetables and 20 million in gold from Kashgar to Shanghai, was only the start. If Ben can keep the treasure away from grasping immortals, the reward will be more than worth the effort. But when has travel with a 5,000-year-old wind vampire ever been simple?
Shadows and Gold is a prequel novella in the Elemental Legacy series.

    Love the two characters!
I really enjoyed this novella! Ben & Tenzin have always been two of my favorite characters! Tenzin's treasure is at risk of being found. The pair are on a race to move Tenzin's riches but unfortunately there are hitches along the way that test their archeological retrieval abilities and knack to stay alive. The characters and plot are well developed & the storyline was intriguing. Their friendship, mischievousness, big brother/sister antagonistic relationship makes for an interesting story on top of their search for buried riches, danger, and trip to a foreign country. Their verbal banter will have you laughing and wanting more. The narrator did a good job!
    Looking forward to the series
    Any additional comments?
I love Elizabeth Hunter's writing -- I think I have all of her books -- but this is the first time I've tried an audiobook. Sadly, I was disappointed. I think Sean William Doyle may be a good storyteller, but a narrator he is not. Specifically, not for these books. I always imagined Tenzin sounding something like France Nuyen, but instead she sounded like Ben, who sounded like everyone else. Except for the attempt at an Italian accent for Gio and ... something for the English vampire. Those actually took me out of the story.
To be fair, I think he has potential in stories that are not as multicultural as these. He has good pacing and clarity. And I particularly liked that I never, ever noticed his breathing. That may sound strange but if you've listened to as many audiobooks as I have you, it is a quality you learn to appreciate. But for now, I'll stick to the printed version.
Because these characters are amazing. And, like I said, I'm looking forward to the series.

    Finally, a new Dresden-like series
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Ok, so I REALLY enjoyed this one and will definitely seek out more in this series. The main character is definitely a long-lost brother to Harry Dresden! I liked the British take on Jim Butcher's world of wizards and mayhem. Well worth a listen.
Great start to a hilarious series.
This was great. The main character was funny and honest about who he was. The story was well paced and structured. I found myself checking for the second book about an hour into this one. Listened in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it. For fans of The Tome of Bill series and The Iron Druid Chronicles.
Can't wait for book two Audio.
The Narrator was great. He brought a good vibe and enthusiasm to the characters. I especially liked the landlady's voice. The scenes where he Eddie is home and dealing with his landlady and her son reminded me of the show How Not To Live Your Life.
I requested a free review copy of this book and I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.
Will definitely remind you of The Dresden Files so not exactly original. Still its enjoyable and worth a read. Ill keep up with the series. Sarcastic humor is something I always enjoy.
The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life.
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review.
    Smart A__ for Hire
First off, this is definitely a Dresdenesque novel, only set in Great Britain. The main character and the story is funny, entertaining, and worth the time if you like urban fantasy.

In the girl in the Box Series Reed was a very strong character to have him portrayed as slightly whimpy in this one was kind of daunting . Also having a male narrator he was good but he made Sianna sound like a silly little twit I was used to a strong character for Sianna.
