    Jade Calhoun Series Book 6
This is my first book in this series. There are a lot of things going on in the story. I found it a bit hard to follow.
In this book you will find Demons, witches, goddesses, ghosts, souls, and Angels. There is a lot to keep up with.
The story felt like it was jumping around and there were a lot of characters to follow. For some reason it was a bit hard for me to stay focused.
The narrator did a pretty good job.
There is a disturbance in the shadows and Jade & Kane are sent to investigate. Energy is being drained from Angels. Kane's energy seems to be found in the shadows and is polluting it. They strip his powers and start investigating what is going on the shadows.

    Good Book
Would you consider the audio edition of Incubus of Bourbon Street to be better than the print version?
This book may have been better in print version because this is typically not the kind of book I'd pick to listen to. I did enjoy the story. I first read the first book in this series years ago and thought why not, since I'd enjoyed this first book, but it was a little too much for me.
    Any additional comments?

    Traci Odom has the voice
there is a certain type of book I enjoy listening too with a specific type of narrator and this book Js exactly it! I plan to listen to all the books in this series. This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.
Loving one another never been better then now ^.^!
Would you listen to Incubus of Bourbon Street again? Why?
He now uses sex for power fighting for souls of those who at risk of being taken by demons, with league of brother, He Learn his craft, as life goes on some things never change, Choas follow those of power, yes always, but man the way they get out of the next troubles made me wish i could stand it to talk faster! cuz WOW i never saw what happen coming at the end!
    Wonderful as usual
The story was awesome except for one thing it was kinda all over the place. I love the story between jade and Kane but it's a little weird. He's like ultra protective which is cute and annoying at the same time.

Jessica's had the nightmares for as long as she can remember. Nightmares of being judged for people who have died, of being branded by the angels. Her friends and family think she's crazy because of it all. Yet she carries the mark of the condemned, seared into the back of her neck, and hides it and herself away from the world.
But when two men she can't ignore enter her life, everything changes, including the nightmares. The two of them couldn't be more different. She will do anything to be with one of them. Even tell him the truth about angels, why she never sleeps, and the scar on the back of her neck. But one of the two has set events into motion that will pull her toward her own judgment and turn her into the object of her greatest fear.

    Mediocre
Worth a try! The narrator did a great job. she read with such emotion. In contrast, the story was slow. It did have a nice end, but it drug on too long. There was too much description (never thought I would say something like that) and too much long winded monologues. It had such great potential. However, the story line was an original one and that is why I continued and why I encourage you to give it a try, if not for the sheer originality of it all.
    At chapter 12
Where's the story/engagement/plot? This story is pure rhetoric, I'm bored. What's the point? She can't sleep without nightmares, characters are boring. May not finish this book much less series.
    What could have been...
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Anyone who is looking for a book with very little substance.
What was most disappointing about Keary Taylors story?
Two things tie for first place:
    1. The Plot - this could have been a really interesting plot concept. But instead of focusing on the angels and their judgment trials, the author chose to focus on the sappy relationship that has such little bearing on the story.
    2. The Characters - they are good, or they are evil. Period. There is no depth to these characters. Even the main character, who should have come out of her ordeal damaged in some way, was just peachy keen and drooling/gushing over her shiny new boyfriend.
If I wanted fluff reading, I'd pick up a trashy romance off the shelves at the grocery story.
What didnt you like about Anne Marie Susan Silveys performance?
The vocal volume. It was either so low that I couldn't hear the dialogue, or so LOUD that my eardrums nearly burst. Pick a volume range and stick to it!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Branded?
    Ummm....all of them??
    Any additional comments?
    Don't bother.
If I had to read it I wouldn't have
Audible makes getting through some books easier. This story was OK. The performance was not. I was hoping she'd get better she didn't. and that made it hard to enjoy the story. But this story was full of great details and short on actual good story.
    Story lacks plot!
The story started out promising, but as I went through the story it became very stagnate. I continued on for the "plot to thicken," but was very disappointed. I am one to always finish a story, but I should have put this one down as not being worth my time.

    Release date: 01-20-15
    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 209 votes
Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Paranormal
    Publisher's Summary:
Summer in London: a city in turmoil. The vicious murder of a well-known MP is like a match to tinder but Detective Inspector James Quill and his team know that it's not a run-of-the-mill homicide. Still coming to terms with their new-found second sight, they soon discover that what is invisible to others - the killer - is visible to them. Even if they have no idea who it is.
Then there are more deaths. The bodies of rich, white men are found in circumstances similar to those that set the streets of London awash with fear during the late 1800s: the Whitechapel murders. Even with their abilities to see the supernatural, accepting that Jack the Ripper is back from the dead is a tough ask for Quill's team. As they try to get to grips with their abilities and a case that's spiralling out of control, Quill realizes that they have to understand more about this shadowy London, a world of underground meetings, bizarre and fantastical auctions, and objects that are 'get out of hell free' cards.
But the team's unlikely guide, a bestselling author, can't offer them much insight - and their other option, the Rat King, speaks only in riddles.
Relying on old-fashioned police work and improvising with their new skills only lands them in deeper water, and they soon realize that the investigation is going to hell - literally. And if they're not careful, they may be going with it . . .
The Severed Streets is the second urban fantasy by bestselling Doctor Who writer, Paul Cornell.
    Critic Reviews:
"An irresistible blend of guns, gangsters, cops and monsters that grabs you by the eyeballs and never lets go. Start this book early in the day people, because you ain't going to get no sleep until it's done" (Ben Aaronovitch)
"Paul Cornell is a triple threat, the kind of writer other writers hate. He writes award-winning short stories. He writes epic television episodes for all your favourite BBC shows. He writes kickass comic books and graphic novels... now he's gone and written a novel too!" (George R. R. Martin)
"I think it is absolutely magnificent. I loved it... I'm not sure I've been that gripped by a novel in... well, decades" (Russell T. Davies)
"A much grittier vision of a gothic, fantasy London, well balanced between its depiction of the city's criminal underworld and a horrifying fantasy reality that for most of the novel lurks just at the edges of sight... Cornell's undercover coppers and plain-clothes detectives are a thoroughly seedy bunch of reprobates" (Guardian)

Where does The Severed Streets rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
It is a good book and if you like mystery and super-natural, this is a book for you. I am a fan of Monster Hunter International, Iron Druid and the like. This was a great surprise it was dark and kept me engaged. Plus I love the English accents.
What did you like best about this story?
The character building and the development of the story. And I hate to say the Cat was funny in a creepy way
    Which scene was your favorite?
Didn't have one. the story couldn't be broken like that.

    Loved it
I have loved all of these books. I was very excited when this came out last week. Another hit for the author. I hope he will keep them coming. If you're looking for some fun listens this is an excellent series. Make sure to start at the beginning.
    Another great Libromancer book!
Everything I have come to expect from a Jim C. Hines book. Humor, unique characters, magic and of course Smudge the fire spider.
love these stories, and others by Mr. Hines.
I love Jim Hines books. the characters are engaging and real, and invoke sympathy.
the narrator has excellent flow, but his impression of some female voices, (most especially in this case, Lena's) was distractingly jarring. He gave her a harsh, nasal quality that grated every time the character spoke.
    edited content
Warn the listener about content but DO NOT edit the playback by blanking out curse words.
    Great story
Loves the story, hated the voices especially Lenas. Reader doesn't do female voices well but I still loved the book and series

First Thoughts when Finished: Black Widow by Jennifer Estep was another strong entry in Elemental Assassins series. The characters are still as bad*ss as ever. Also, I really dug the different way that this all "played" out in the end. MM was not my favorite villain in the series but I think she maybe was the craftiest. I was just happy that it appears Bria is finally ok with her sister (let's hope cause if not I am taking Finn back).
    Audio Thoughts:
Narrated by: Lauren Fortgang /Length: 10 hrs and 17 mins
Once a series goes into automatic listen (which this is for me) I sound a bit like a broken record. However, let me state this again: Lauren nails Gin and Gang with the sass, brass, and southern of a narrator who just might really be an elemental assassin! She is that convincing :) So just listen to it already!
Part of my Read It, Rate It, File It, DONE! reviews
    Super surprise ending
What made the experience of listening to Black Widow the most enjoyable?
It was very different from the other stories, the line was very active and fast. Non-stop action from start to finish.
What about Lauren Fortgangs performance did you like?
Lauren Fortgang is one of my favorite narrators, she's fantastic with different voices even men. She's also great with emotions. I've listened to her narrations in other books by other authors.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Several, especially the end which is a real twist. (fans will love it)
    Any additional comments?
I've listened to every book in the series and only one (book 6) I didn't enjoy. because of Detective Donovan Caine, who was so pompous it made the story annoying.

This book was awesome. In it we find out about auphe genes work and that sucks. This is one of my favorites anti healer are freaky that I'll I'm going to say.
    Catcher almost made me cry
MacLeod Andrew's performance as Catcher was perfect, and he did a great job changing his voice enough for the different characters
    Worth a listen, love it!
Really enjoy this series. author keeps you on your toes and keeps it pretty interesting plus intense at times; great story teller. The narrator is by far one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of listening to; does the voice and dramatizes the text with his voice. Very impressed and pleased. :)
    Disappointing
I have 5 hours and 17 min left and I am not feeling this book. I love the series. After reading the first 2 books I purchased the complete set. I am a century cyclist. That is right, I ride 100 miles on my road bike at one time. Since I am on my bike for 6 - 8 hours I like to have a good book.
If I had something else on my Ipod I would have changed it. As it was I had 8 hours of background noise. My dilemma, torture myself to keep up with the story, or drop this and catch up in the next book.
Well before I was really into my ride I become a little put off because Rob had so much back story right at the start. That is when my attention began to waver and nothing really grabbed me after that.
I thought it was just me so I read a few reviews and other readers felt the same. This has disappointed me to the point I will take a break from the series and read something else. I am an Audible member and I am returning this for a refund.
Usually a disappointing book in a series I enjoy would get 3 stars. But not this one. I am slightly pissed I was stuck .with this book for 8 hours and it was just background noise. I dropped a star because I was so inconvenience.

In Undead and Unwary, vampire queen Betsy Taylor and her savvy retinue sink their teeth into a delicious problem - how to out-devil the devil.
    Members Reviews:
Davidson breathes new Life into Hell
For the last couple of novels, Davisdson has floundered. But in the last novel she set the stage for a confrontation between Betsy and her sister Laura. In Undead and Unwary, that confrontation plays out. I am please to report that this novel is excellent and a fabulous return to the fun spirited early books which made this series fun. We have a lot to chew on, Betsy matures, Laura doesn't disappoint, Jessica is hilarious, and the aunt and some new friends. Okay, you have to read it for yourself.
Wu does a fabulous job narrating as always. If you are a fan of the series, do not delay as I did. Another thing I liked in this novel was the way Davidson referred to her previous novels like footnotes instead of summarizing what we already knew -- a great device.
Go ahead a chomp it on down. You'll be glad you did.
Parts of the story are good
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I understand that the Betsy needs some inner monolog, but does does it have to take up more than 3/4ths of the book? The "story" is wonderful, it's her constant talking to herself that can get tiresome.
Would you recommend Undead and Unwary to your friends? Why or why not?
I have listened to every one of these books, and my only complaint is always the same. I have already recommended the story to friends.
What does Nancy Wu bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I LOVE the reader. I wouldn't change a thing about her!
Do you think Undead and Unwary needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I know there is going to be two more books to finish the series. I will miss all the characters when the series ends.
    Any additional comments?
Mrs. Davidson, I don't know if you read the comments, but please cut back just a little bit on her inner monolog. You are a wonderful writer with such an interesting story. I promise you do not need all the extra filler. With you till the end always,Tara
If you've followed the series Betsy grows up
Where does Undead and Unwary rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I've listened to this series since the start, and they are all laugh out loud funny. This one more than the others is one of the best since Betsy learns to take responsibility for her actions and really grows up. If you start with this book you loose a lot, you have to start with book 1 and go from there. I laughed out loud so many times with my headphones on my family was really starting to worry.....NOT.
What other book might you compare Undead and Unwary to and why?
I can only compare to Molly Harper Jane Jamison series......which was also laugh out loud funny, and about vampires.
    Which scene was your favorite?
There are so many and most of them are spoilers to anyone who's into the series.

    Can't wait for book 2
Would you consider the audio edition of Fireborn to be better than the print version?
I did listen to the audio version. I am a big fan of Saskia Maarleveld.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fireborn?
I enjoyed the whole book as it was not your usual story. I liked that.
What does Saskia Maarleveld bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I love her accent....and I just prefer audio while I work...makes work a pleasure. A narrator can make or break a book.....at least for me...I have some books in my audio collection that I have yet to listen to all the way through because the narration is boring. Ms Maarleveld does not bore me.
    Any additional comments?
I do enjoy Kerry Arthur very much and have listened to pretty much all of her books....she did not disappoint with this one and I can't wait until Book 2.
Oh My GOD, she's such an idiot!
    Any additional comments?
I've been reading for 30 years and I just can't stand reading about stupid women any more. The author writes about an extremely powerful creature but makes her an incompetent idiot. Then at the end she actually manages to defend herself. REALLY!? Now, she pulls out some quick thinking and power? How about the other 8 hours I've spent listening to this moron taking 2 minutes to react to anything.
    Boring
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would not recommend this book to a friend. It was slow at times, left things unanswered and there was no real romance or mystery or really anything enjoyable.
What was most disappointing about Keri Arthurs story?
I expected more mystery, deeper characters and a more interesting story/background about the Phoenix race. I think I expected too much.
What about Saskia Maarlevelds performance did you like?
She did a great job with her characters. I enjoyed her performance.
Was Fireborn worth the listening time?
No, but I finished it because I kept hoping it would get better.

    great series.
love the series. the storyline is great. I agree that it is a darker story than Harry Potter but I like it.
    Enjoyable
I really love this book. I listened to it at least 3 times. I am now on the 3rd book.
    great seies
awesome series and they keep you interested in what's going to happen next. G.P. Ching is great at the why she writes this continuing story. I love them.
    keeps you hooked
an excellent continuation of the soul keeper series. I really enjoyed it and I am on to the next.
    and the saga continues ...
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoyed the way that the team worked together. When they added Maura to the group, I wasn't sure how it was going to go but then I found that she was just as invested at the rest of the team in making sure the Watchers were defeated.
Which character as performed by Jeffrey Kafer was your favorite?
I've always enjoyed the relationship between Jacob and Molanee. Mr. Kafer does a wonderful job showing the emotions between these two.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
While I didn't have an extreme reaction, I will say that I was nervous at times wondering the outcome of this part of the story. At the end when the big confrontation occurs, I wasn't sure it was going to go well for the good guys. That made me nervous.
    Any additional comments?
Weaving Destiny is book 2 in the Soulkeeper's Series. It continues the journey of Jacob as he learns more about his powers and the villians he, his mother Lillian, Dr. Silva, Gideon and esp Molanee are up against.
I would recommend this book to my friends who enjoy the paranormal. The central characters may only be 16 but this book has something for everyone 13 and older. I'm looking forward to listening to more of this story!
