I was super excited to listen to this, and was happy when I saw it finally was available! This story continues where book 4 left off...Dante, Aurora, and Giselle are on the run...thinking the agency was after them...and of course Fane is looking for Jos and Aurora...This book was a lot of them running and hiding, and Dante was kind of being a jerk...I have pretty much lost my like for Dante...I was a little bored at times....but all and all it was a good story...and I cant wait for #6!

what in the world

This one e was horrible! The story went nowhere it was just a lot of fluff. and who was the male narrator he messed up the whole story. I will not be reading the next book.

Whiteout by Nikki Jefford is the fifth novel in a series called Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter. Aurora Sky, her somewhat partner Dante, and an icy foe-turned-ally vampire Giselle are on the run in frozen Alaska. After getting away from a dangerous enemy vampire and uncovering that the clandestine agency that Dante and Aurora work for is corrupt, they fled, unsure of who was on their side. Dante wants to clean the agency of it corruption, while Giselle only wants to destroy her enemy. And Aurora is stuck between her two companions, while only wanting only to return to the man she loves. They travel the remote and frozen lands of Alaska attempting to formulate a plan and figure out a way to outsmart their enemies.

As this is the fifth novel in a series, I think any reader needs to read the previous books in the series for the plot to make sense. There was not much recap and I imagine a newcomer to the series would be confused, even with some of the details that are interspersed throughout the novel. I personally liked this novel less than the preceding ones. However, there were definitely positive aspects. Ultimately, in this novel Aurora is coming into her own as her post-hunter self. Also, Auroras and Fanes relationship is finally clarified to the satisfaction of the reader. One aspect of this novel that is different from the previous novels is the added Fanes point of view sections as he looks for Aurora. It was really interesting to see how he thinks. However, I struggled with the focus of the novel, I felt that the characters had a mission, but they kept getting side tracked with other vampires. A testament to the author is that these side tracks were ultimately moving the plot forward and contributed to the end of the novel seamlessly.

Good but Wow

What made the experience of listening to Kiss of Fire the most enjoyable?

It was good until the end. The fear overwhelmed the lead character in that she never infused the damn crystal. which I didn't understand. The only part of his soul left is with her.

Yes and NO!! If their isn't additional books to go with it. then I wouldn't.

A Little girl with too many fear issues and supposed to be powerful. She needs to go all out or go home with all that crying crap. . .

First love is not always your true love.

The Imdalind series is one of the best series I've ever read. This book #1 is a great start but don't judge the series yet based on this first book. It does start a bit slow but picks up about halfway through. So much happens in the later books that this series becomes an epic masterpiece.

Kiss of fire sets up everything. We meet Jocelyn and we meet Ryland her best friend who she secretly loves.

I don't want to spoil anything but I will say things start to get really good when the sexy Ilyan shows up. Move over Ryland, you don't hold a candle to Ilyan.

Each book in the series gets better and better. I urge you to keep reading them. Eyes of Ember is even better and I absolutely adore Scorched Treachery and Soul of Flame.

The epic love story of Jocelyn and Ilyan is one of my favorites and I read a lot of books and ship a lot of couples. Ilyan is one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time. You'll see more in the later books how selfless he is. A true hero and perfect match for Jocelyn.

Dark story but good

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'd recommend it to those who enjoy contemporary fantasy type of stories.

What did you like best about this story?

The relationship between Delilah and Gallagher was hard to understand at first. I wasn't sure I really liked him, but as the story progressed he grew on me. He and Delilah each had their roles to play under the circumstances (don't want to spoil anything). Nothing happened in the book that could be considered romantic and there was an unusual power balance with their relationship that evolved quite a bit by the end of the novel, but I would like to see something deeper develop in future books.

Which scene was your favorite?

The end was my favorite part and I will definitely be looking forward to the next novel in the series. Most of the criptics really grew on me and I can't wait to learn more about them.

Any additional comments?

I should warn that this book starts really slow and there isn't a lot of action in it. Expect a whole lot of world-building to set events up. It is also very dark with torture, abuse, and severe neglect featuring throughout the story. For some people, this will be difficult to get through. I almost gave up on it, but I was intrigued enough with the characters and story to push through. The ending and what may happen next made it all worth it. This is the kind of story that stays with you and makes you think about what humanity really is. What really defines an animal or monster?

Also, the narrator was fantastic. She did a great job of giving the wide cast of characters unique and individual voices. Her pacing was also excellent. I could definitely listen to more of her work.

THIS IS THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, NOT THE POUND

This is an entertaining, deep, intellectual, moral read. I am so glad I roamed away from what I normally read to catch this. The book starts with a pretty cool twist and surprise for the main character, which leads to a mystery. Just when I thought, okay enough with the Satyr's, Centaurs, trolls, elves, mermaids, werewolves, fairies, giants, selkies, succubae, Minotaur, etc..., I am shocked with something new. Many of you may be thinking that you are not into all this weird stuff, but the main story is really a lot more than that. This is no more about mythology, folklore, or weird creatures, than Water For Elephants was about Elephants. This should appeal to anyone with a heart.

Listening to Wyn and Ilian's recounting of everything that had happened in the previous book from their perspectives was amazing and interesting. I had hoped to hear more the the story itself, but it was enlightening to hear it come from them, what they went through and secrets from Wyn's past revealed.... Incredible. She is more formidable than even she knew!

Enjoy the series overall but this definitely wasn't one of the better ones. Putting the narration on 1.25 helps!

Interesting departure from the other books.

I liked that this story was told from Landon's point of view and that we have a male voice for the first time.

I think Audible is missing a couple stories in this series? if so, I hope they can fill in the blanks soon. At least one story that was alluded to sounds pretty interesting.

I love reading these books, and now I can listen to them over and over. I wish these characters were real so I could meet them. I really recommend these.

Angels continue to ruin Jessica's life

If you have not read/listened to book one Branded, I would start there. Jessica is no longer being judged by the angels for the lives of other people. As a fan of the last book, it is nice to see Jessica having a chance of normalcy. However, life can never be ordinary for her. While the story moves forward in an entertaining, although sometimes predictable, direction. My only complaint is she gets a bit whiney for my taste.

The 1st book was good but then .....

The 1st book was good so you want to read this one right ... well it definitely starts going downhill from here. her constant repetitive use of the same words and the same Descriptions over and over and the dragging on of the story I would not recommend reading this book especially because once you get to the third book it is at just horrible ! literally the third book had no purpose, the whole book couldve been put into two extra chapters maybe three and added to this one Im pretty sure theres only a third book for the royalties

Forsaken-Fall of angles

What made the experience of listening to Forsaken the most enjoyable?

I liked how the author was descriptive when she wrote this one i think that she really didn't do that in the first book branded.I like how in this book she got on to the story it took a little while for her to do that in branded.I loved it but i loved the first one more better.I have to say the best part was the ending not to give anything out but i just wanna read the nest book like now.

What other book might you compare Forsaken to and why?

I might compare this book to the first book duh because in the first book she was alone, was scared, had the nightmares.Now she doesn't have the nightmares,she had a lot more friends and she's not scared anymore.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I think the parts that move me was the romance parts when they kissed and who they wouldn't leave there side.

Evil Voodoo Dice Hooray!

This was a fun, short prequel to the first novel in the series, Dead of Night.

I'll be honest, I bought this one more for the narration than the story (but still for the story, as I really liked the first book!). Finding out how he got the dice was pretty awesome.

Narration was amazing as is usual with Jeff Hays. The special effects helped immerse me in the experience, but I still maintain that like in the first book, the coughing fits and a few of the laughs sound forced and a bit awkward. I can easily get over that though, I guess. It's a personal preference, and some people probably dig it. The spooky evil voodoo ghost voices make up for it, for sure.

The Ghosts and Magtic Series continues to amaze, augmented with Jeff Hays' astounding narration.

Absolutely. We get a strong feel for the characters through voice and emotions that brings them to life for us.

What about Jeff Hayss performance did you like?

It's always a pleasure to listen to Jeff narrate a story. Not only do we get different voices, but we get a few added effects with the characters (like Conor coughing). And, always what we are looking for, heart of the character. Jeff becomes who he voices. One of my favorites to listen to as he's so entertaining with his voice and the recording is seamless.

Any additional comments?

This novella is before Dead of Night in Conor's life time line. I'm listening to it after the second book. You can listen to this one at any time, before the series or during it. You get a great feel for Conor and the world.

This novella is one that would be very good to sample the world and Conor. We learn about the movement of the fields returning magic to the world. We see the touch it's had on the world, the changes in people and land.

This novella is neat because we get to see Danelle in action. If you've read the series, you'll understand what I mean. If you've not read the series, it's okay, you'll understand when you get to the series. But the cool thing here, we get to see how Conor came to possess the dice. This was something that was in the back of my mind, curious about.

Great conclusion to the series :)

This was a great story and conclusion to the series. I don't want to go into too many details about what happens...let's just say that the long game ends. At the end of the previous book, Low Midnight, Cormac had a possible way to get to Roman and in this story they try to take advantage of this. Things don't go the way they might wish but it starts something that brings Kitty and friends into a major showdown with Roman and the person controlling Roman. Kitty and Co have to go through some desperate situations in order to get through it but they manage and the story ends with a HEA all around.

I enjoyed this story (and series) greatly. I really loved Kitty as a heroine and was very happy with her throughout the series. Ben made a really good partner for her. He was strong when needed but was more of a support for Kitty rather than trying to take control of things himself. Together they made a great couple..at times I wished for a little more steam between them but it didn't usually bother me since this isn't really that sort of a series. I also loved how Kitty is with her friends and how she will go out of her way to do the right thing. While I liked how things ended, I am going to miss this series. I'd definitely recommend this series. :D

THAT's what they chose to be the big bad behind romen?!

how unexpectedly conventional and over-used.

i was hoping for a ancient god of destruction or alien space bats or at the least some kind of old roman Frankenstein-type mad alchemist so i admit i found this final book seriously disappointing. the author has been so good at pulling out odd and interesting characters from multiple supernatural sources around the world so i was expecting more than just another "the devil made me do it" set up.

the story is fairly well written but to be honest, i lost most of my interest once the disappointment hit and really had to work not to just skip to the end.

as long as you go into it not expecting anything interesting in regards to the big bad, you will probably like it. for me, its one of my least favorite of the kitty books.

Another good story in the series. The snarkiness is still there, along with plenty of action. Story lines are developing nicely, the kids are growing up so to speak.

Great series..

The vampire detective strikes again.I love the series and can't wait for the next book.

Best book in the series so far.

I really enjoyed this book. The introduction of Abby as the neophyte vampire was a great addition to the story. It gives Jimmy a chance to show a different side to himself, rather then just snarking all the time and getting horribly beat up B-). I also liked the continuing character developement for the rest of Jimmy's crew as well. I am looking forward now to the next book.

Another Great book

This is another great book by our favorite detective vampires duo and this time he brought along his pet. All they need is a van and some snacks!! This book is such a fun read and the narrator does a great job with all of the character voices. I love all of Hartness's snappy dialogs and his reference to current events. It is super fun read and entertaining.
