Excellent story....it pulls you in from page one!

This is a reviewâthere is no need to invoke the term âspoiler alertâ.

I was drawn to House Key since I am an artist as well as a fan of historical fiction. When you read this novel you will understand how I was drawn into the story. Although House Key is a sizable tome, I read it in one weekend.

I read Ms. Kingâs debut novel as soon as it became available in electronic format. I prefer electronic format since I have the ability to highlight (and store) exceptional content and write notes for future reference.

When I search for reading material, my criteria is very selective. Iâm searching for a good story to sustain my attention, provide character development to support the plot, and contain threads of history (where I am sure to learn something new). But most importantly, Iâm searching for a good story that portrays the authorâs ability to compose beautifully written sentences. Once I finish the novel, and Iâm satisfied, I immediately seek out additional work by the author.

I was hooked on House Key as soon as I read the prologue. At that point I knew that my criteria would be met, but I didnât realize that my expectations would be greatly exceeded until I became fully immersed in Jordan and Santiagoâs saga.

As an example of Ms. Kingâs ability to orchestrate words, sentences, and concept into great prose, I electronically highlighted this quote (from Jordanâs point of view) that describes a mysteriously hidden room in the House. âThe Indian-ness of the study, I realized, did not match my notion of the American West, alternately romanticized or demonized on television and in the movies I watched growing up. History told by the victors did not necessarily include a lot of truth about the vanquished, I decided. And how could it? The dominant culture, busy promoting its own values and traditions while rooting in new soil, thriving, and prospering, would care little about preserving the culture of the vanquished, let alone bothering to understand it. â

Last but not least, House Key has a healthy dose of sexual tension. However, House Key is much more than your typical romance-centered novel. The sexual tension developed throughout the plot only adds to the other elements (mentioned above) which made it a truly enjoyable and memorable read.

I was thoroughly satisfied and I am looking forward to reading Ms. Kingâs sequel to House Key.

Stay with this book, it draws you in; nice read!

I ended up really liking this book. It started a bit slowly for me, but I kept at it and was really drawn into it in the second half.

Intriguing and Disturbing Mature Content

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

twisted and dark

Three short stories following the main character, Victor, as he gets deeper and deeper into a situation with no way out for the sake of fame. He comes across as many things throughout the three stories and none of them endearing, including naive to be duped like that. Quite a twist in the third one where it is revealed who is orchestrating the his life, giving him the shock of his life. Suspense, twisted logic, cold blooded murder mixed with erotica makes for an interesting story.

I enjoyed listening to Mr. Brown's voice, easy on the ear, I will check out his other narrations for sure.

A bunch of sex and murder

For me the best thing about this book was the narration. The story was ok but by the end of it I felt like I had just listened to a bunch of sex scenes with some murder thrown in between. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Great read

The Handyman: Season zone by Vincent Zandri was a great read. Season One consisted of three episodes; Lust and Letters, Naked Heat and Savage Sins. Vic is an aspiring author that keeps getting rejection letters for his story. His neighbor propositions him to kill her husband and become The Handyman.

Unrealistic and preachy

I came in late on this series, having seen the first two novels made into movies, so I jumped right into this third installment of the story. I had very high hopes, having enjoyed "The Shunning" and "The Confession" produced on Hallmark. The beginning of the story started out great, and I was looking forward to seeing it all unfold. However, it only went downhill from there, and at 65 mph... The dialogue, situations, and characters' responses to situations were utterly ridiculous. In some of these situations, the action was SO SILLY I found myself actually laughing out loud.

Spoiler: Once Katherine/Katie finds Jesus, the story got very preachy. This was something I didn't expect (though I should have), and it really turned me off. I would have given this story one star, but the beginning was engaging and interesting.

Sadly, I will never get those hours back that I devoted to reading this novel! Please don't waste your time.

Did not like this one much at all!

Having read the first two and finding them quite enjoyable, I was extremely disappointed in the last book of this series. It seemed more like the author had tired of the story and just wanted to wrap it up and try and answer everyone's questions as quickly as she could. There were WAY too many side-stories in this book, the only one I found myself interested in was Mary's. You already know what is going to happen with Katherine once Daniel makes his appearance. Even though Katherine seems genuinely in love with Justin, she suddenly makes decisions to which we get no real detail of her execution of those decisions and are left wondering what really happened. She comes off more like a ditz who can't make up her mind... I am Plain, no I was meant to be English... oh wait no I am really Plain... I read it and managed to finish it because I felt the need to read them all once I started but it was really a huge waste of the money I spent on the eBook download, not to mention the time I will never get back!

Talk about discover who your parents were!

This book has lots of things to recommend it. If you want to follow the journey of a woman who was outcast, held back from personal development, if you'd like to read about someone tracking down their biological family, if you love suspense or romance or even the Fingerlakes Region of New York State, this well crafted novel has something for you. Written by someone who could be called the First Lady of Amish Novels, as she was the first person to write popular novels about the Amish successfully, the story takes place primarily at a bed and breakfast in Canandaigua, NY.

What a great mystery! Just had to put that out there

What a great mystery! Just had to put that out there. Not only is it a great mystery but it's also a pretty cool romance too. I loved the way Brantley and Mack connect even though Brantley is a suspect at first, which of course he isn't guilty because that would be way too easy. When Brantley moved to South Dakota from New York, he expected his life to get simpler, well life has a way of working the way it's suppose to and that's not always how we expect. One thing I really enjoyed was as a Wisconsinite it was refreshing to read a book not full of cliches of simple country life vs. busy city life. The twists and turns of the mystery blended well with the burgeoning romance between Brantley and Mack, both of which had me on the edge of my seat. Flight or Fight is only the second Dirk Greyson story I've read but it certainly won't be the last.

Dirk Does It Again

Another great story from Dirk. Brantley decides to move to the country after living in NYC having had enough of the city life, but things in the country are more stressful from the moment he arrives, that is until he meets The Sheriff. A really great read.

Enjoyable

Brantley Calderone, buys a ranch out west when his life in New York winds up in shambles. Get away from it and live in peace, is his new mantra.

Mack Redford comes back from a stint in the "big city" to be the Hardwick County, sheriff. City life wasn't for him, but now he's dealing with a murder involving one of those city folk.

This was a nice mystery with likable characters, and some nice sexy parts. I enjoyed it very much.

A quick read with some problems with the plot and characterization.

It's almost a 4 star! The middle to the end of the work is really awkward. The author probably needs to visit this area - THEN - review the writing. The ranch work, details, and character behavior do not really work. EXAMPLE - one woman with child is managing a ranch without any outside help - probably NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Too much work would have a tremendous effect! Needs a good editor to help with this work.

I liked this one more for the crime drama/mystery aspects than the m/m erotica. It was a nice little love story but those scenes were written to move along to fast. No real time for things to develop naturally. The sex should have been completely deleted. It just bogged down an otherwise good story.

I voluntarily read Beauty and the mountain man in exchange for an honest review. I think this is my favorite book by Frankie Love but I say that about all of them ,the women is a writing genius. I absolutely loved reading this book. It had me hooked from the very beginning . The story was the perfect mix of excitement, sweet,hot and enough steamy goodness to knock your socks off. The characters were phenomenally written with an unmistakable connection between them. This is a definite must read that you won't want to miss.

Tale as old as time

Bella winds up at a mansion on the mountain after her car breaks down 10 miles from her Dad's place and of course its snowing. When she meets the owner of the mansion he acts more like a beast then a man. However they have an attraction thats hard to ignore. However when Bella finds out who the beast Ronan is will he still be her fairytale guy?

Loved it! ^_^

Naughty with a bit of sweet and cute, it was awesome and I loved it but it was a bit too short. The bonus was awesome but also a bit too short. All in all it was an amazing book and I loved it! I am keeping my fingers crossed for a bit longer version of the bonus or a sequel to it. ^_^

Sweet, Inspirational Story!

This whole series about the Blume sisters is one of my favorite reads. I discovered that I had never left a review for this fun book. There was so much I loved about this book about too quickly judging a person, without knowing them. This is a sweet, descriptive, well-developed story and start of the series. My favorite quote is: âHe had to leave her in the hands of the One who could take care of her.â

A lively short Prince Charming story.

If you want to read a light Christian story this is a good one to choose. Magnolia is not one to settle for just anyone because she is doing fine the way her life as turned out. Will Mr Right change her life and turn it upside down?

Amazing group of authors with a Amazing idea for this series, we definitely can't ask for a better plot...

Too short

I've never read anything from this author so I was delightfully surprised how good her story turned out. Easy to get into, the plot, characters, and the way she writes all melded perfectly. Avery goes out for a night of fun meets a handsome stranger. They roleplay a fantasy. A traumatic event happens. It's a really good story. Liam is the perfect baby Daddy. The only disappointment is how short it was. Well, I'm just going to go look at her other books. Yes, I will definitely be buying more from this author.

Very Good Despite Its Short Length

When things started getting serious between Julia McKenzie and Seth Russell, Julia sent him a brief letter and left. She was only seventeen and not ready to move from her fatherâs house into being a wife and starting a family. Now, seven years later, nothing had turned out as she expected. After more than one tragedy, she finds herself all alone and jaded toward those who claimed to be Christians but refused to acknowledge those less fortunate. When she meets Seth again and learns that heâs now a pastor, she has mixed emotions. Sheâs been shunned by church members before, and she doesnât want to cause him problems.

Seth had accepted the fact that he would probably live his life alone. He couldnât forget his first love who had run off with his heart. When he meets her again, sheâs full of mystery and seem to stubbornly want her on way. Will God repair their relationship or will she break his heart again?

The story was too short (77% of 162 pages on kindle), but it was good. Although it ended rather abruptly, it did end happily and I enjoyed the story. It had a good Christian message of forgiveness and acceptance, too.

Love the series Love Blossoms in Oregon

I enjoyed the first two books in the series and peruse Ms. Ferrell's page every now and then to see if another has been published in this series. I was delighted to find the novella Forget Me Not. According to the Author Notes, this novella was written after all three books in the series was completed, yet this novella fits the plot line between books 1 and 2. I am amazed how the author is able to write a novella after the fact without disrupting established plot lines. Doing that takes a lot of thought and care. Forget Me Not introduces China Town, has themes of judgmental thoughts, forgiveness, and the role of a church. It was fun seeing old characters again from Blowing on Dandelions. Looking forward to reading Dreaming on Daisies when it is released.

Wonderful novella of prejudices and forgiveness

What a wonderful novella of the Oregon Territory, involving prejudices against Chinese and unforgiving spirits, both by people claiming the name of Christ. The townspeople, many of them churchpeople, especially Mrs. Evans, regard the Chinese as undesirables and untouchables. When Julia comes to town and associates with the Chinese, Mrs. Evans and others threaten to ruin Pastor Seth for his friendship with her. In the meantime, Julia is having a hard time forgiving the parishioners of her father's church for the way they treated her at his death. She starts to think all Christians are as unloving.

Book not complete

I usually like BJ Daniels, but this book had a whole subplot where the main male character had a bad agent and a druggy ex who were both maligning the character that was never resolved, in fact it left you feeling like the book was unfinished.

I love the action and suspense of this book and can't wait for the next in the series. This author is one of my very favorites.

My Review:

Two women had disappeared from a small rural community with one overlapping similarity recounted by witnesses. Many chapters later we discover many more overlapping issues for these two well-constructed mysteries that had confounded the authorities and crossed three state lines. I was confounded by the knowledge that this talented author has written thirteen different series for a total of two-hundred-thirty books, and this is just my second time to stumble upon one of her intriguing tales. For shame, I have been remiss. Ms. Daniels is a gifted storyteller and weaves an engaging and entertaining tale with suspense, humor, quirky yet knowable characters, and colorfully described and vividly detailed visuals. The story was well-crafted and deviously plotted with twists and turns and blind alleys to keep us hapless readers on our toes as well as humble. I will certainly be humbly watching her listings from now on.
