    It Happened One Summer!
Would you consider the audio edition of Learning to Swim to be better than the print version?
I loved this audio edition! I would have mis-pronounced many words had I read this in a book version.
What other book might you compare Learning to Swim to and why?
    Nothing to compare it to.
What about Wendy Pittss performance did you like?
I loved the way Wendy did all the voices. Mrs O'Leary & Cora's voices fit them to the T. The narrator did great on the teen voices!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    It Happened One Summer...
    Any additional comments?
Wow, What a great story! The plot had me guessing the whole time. The ending was great! I wouldn't have guessed that ending. What a surprise!
    Could not stop listening
Would you listen to Learning to Swim again? Why?
Learning to Swim was very engaging. Both the intricate development of the story and characters kept me wanting more.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Learning to Swim?
I really loved the portrayal of Mrs. O'Leary and the use of myths and legends throughout the story. It really did create a marathon listen for me.
Have you listened to any of Wendy Pittss other performances before? How does this one compare?
Great switch between characters, first time I have listened to a performance by Wendy Pitts. Cannot wait for her next volume.
Great First book of YA Series
Annie Cosby's 1st book in her Hearts Out of Water series, Narrated by Wendy Pitts is published by Write For You a Publishing and in Audiobook form by the Author Ann Cosby.
This is a touching YA title about Cora an 18 year old girl on Summer Break before college. She wants to stay home with her friends who are all leaving for separate schools in the fall, and this will be their last summer together.
Cora's mother has different ideas taking Cora's Father and Cora to their newly purchased fixer upper summer home known as the Pink Palace. The name does not begin to describe the hideousness of this house.
Embarrassed and away from her friends Cora 'a Summer is ruined. I almost forgot her mother wants to set her up with another rich boy from the Big House's which Cora has no interest.
Cora does meet a nice old women Mrs.

    Needs a new narrator
While the story was very cute, the narrator ruined it for me. Her constant swallowing while reading made listening to the story unbearable. I listen to a lot of audible books, and have never heard a narrator swallow loudly throughout the story. With a different narrator, this book would be much better.
    Drags a bit.
This book doesn't get good until the end. It feels like it's written for teenagers and can drag on at times. It is funny though.

Length: 1 hr and 56 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 01-23-14

    Publisher's Summary:
"This is all about Romeo," he said. "I want to be the guy of your dreams, Aven. Me. Stupid Aaron Loving, who a week ago you couldnt stand, and who today, right now, you want to kiss you blind. When you decide thats who I am, that Im good enough, Ill be right here, waiting."
Locked in the closet with Mr. Irritating, the last thing Aven Modell thought would happen was the kiss of the century. But she was wrong. Aaron Loving might be annoying, but locking lips with him was something shed never forget.
    Unfortunately, neither would he.
Yet the Aaron who asks for math help isnt the same guy she knows at school, and her heart is not as certain as she thought. It could be where love is concerned that she has something important to learn.
Another young adult romance from best-selling author, Suzanne D. Williams. Sometimes love comes when you least expect it.
    Members Reviews:
    Seven Minutes in Heaven...
It all started with Seven Minutes in Heaven. Aven Modell had to kiss him--the most annoying, rich, stuck-up boy in the universe, Aaron Loving. After Aaron kissed Aven, he really does like her. He tries everything to get Aven's attention but nothing seems to work. Not until, the school's jock, Logan, asks Aven out. Now Aaron is more than determined to get Aven to notice him before their date on Friday, and the only way to do that is to ask for math help. Will Aaron get the girl of his dreams, or will Logan swoop her off her feet?
This book was super short but had many emotions. Aaron is stuck-up and always talks about himself but there's a reason behind this; one so deep and true in life. But, I love Aaron. He's really sweet and what he did...was just...beautiful.Then there's Aven. Aven is a pretty & smart girl who hates Aaron but once she begins tutoring him, she sees him as a nice guy. However, when she sees him at school she tries to avoid him at all cost because what will that look like in school? Dating a stuck-up guy who most hate? Aven was scared to admit something she thought she couldn't feel but once she did, everything started coming together.
The one thing I liked was that Suzanne (once again) mentioned saving sex for marriage and that men shouldn't pray to get the girl but to be the man they should be and I thought that was just great (no the book is not religious)!
There are a lot of topics addressed in this story; love, bullying & peer-pressure, and Suzanne managed to put them all together in this one short novel. It had 6 chapters, 6 interesting, anxiety-filled chapters that kept me wanting more. This story turned out to be my favorite story by Suzanne and I hope, someday, to find my very own Aaron Loving.
    Excellent story Suzanne!
    Cute and clean romance
As usual Suzanne Williams writes a fast read romance that you can learn from.
They are safe to let your teen daughter read. Thanks Suzanne
Good for a quick simple read...
I admit that I am not normally a fan of this author but I enjoyed this book. It was sweet, simple and innocent. It was also very short so I was able to read it in an evening. It was a good book to pass the time with.
    clean romance
    clean, but kind of short
Lessons of Life in a YA Romance
There is so much that teenagers can take from this book! Be yourself, be honest, being mean will come back to get you and more. I would love to see this book on the teen reading list for 8th and 9th graders; maybe we would have less hate going on at the high school level.

It's been a year since Luna's mother, the fashion-model wife of a successful film director, was hit and killed by a taxi in New York's East Village. Luna, her father, and her little brother, Tile, are still struggling with grief.
When Luna goes to clean out her mother's old studio, she's stunned to find her mom's cell phone there - charged and holding seven unheard messages. As Luna begins to listen to them, she learns more about her mother's life than she ever wanted to know . . . and she comes to realize that the tidy tale she's been told about her mother's death may not be the whole truth.
    Editorial Reviews:
Narrator Kate Metroka's clear, disarming voice walks a line between innocence and disappointment in this delicate story about grief and closure. It's been a year and Luna is still struggling to cope with the death of her mother, a famous fashion model. While she is cleaning out her mother's studio, Luna finds her mother's cell phone, which contains seven messages. Luna listens to one message each day and begins to discover things about her mother's life that upturns everything she's ever believed about her parents. Metroka allows a note of melancholy to sound through this coming-of-age story and gently brings Luna's new-found maturity to a satisfying close.

Interesting concept and great from beginning to end!
I loved this book. Read it in one day. I have never read this author, Stewart Lewis, before, but he writes like a woman thinks. I would thought that a woman wrote it. He understands feelings that daughters go through. This is a story about a girl, with wealthy parents, whose parents she thought were happily married. Her mother is killed in a car accident and she goes to her mother's studio (painting) in another location, and finds her mother's cell phone. There are 7 messages that lead her to information about her parents that she didn't know. Great subject matter, keeps you interested, love the personality of the daughter and the relationships she has in the book. I say this is a must read. Great book. . I will look for other books by this author. Loved his writing style.
    Forgive, Forget Understand, Value
Okay let's be honest I really loved this book. The romance was good and the adventure to what kind of a person Moon's mother really was is awesome. Every person is different and has a lot of layers. In tracing her mother's foot steps, Moon learns who her mother really was and finds truth. She also expresses herself though her photography, how she sees the world. That's how artists are. An artist is not an artist just because they are just good at doing the skill and that their hands are good at creating art, but how they see the world. They capture and inspire how they see things. People have lots of layers, and this book conveys that and how relationships form and change. It really shows how people are and that you should forgive and forget, understand and value. I also feel that in some ways it encourages you to continue on with what you want to do in life and go for it, cause eventually it will pay off if you keep trying. Eventually you'll get there, if your willing to keep on trying.
    Bought the book
I happened to be in a school library waiting for an event and I picked up this book out of boredom. Before I knew it I was 20 pages in.

    My pre-teen couldn't stop listening!
What made the experience of listening to Teen Ghost at Dead Lake the most enjoyable?
Great book! I also like to read/listen to books with her to engage in conversations about them. This book kept my attention.
    Great Teen/YA story.
Would you consider the audio edition of Teen Ghost at Dead Lake to be better than the print version?
I have not read the printed version so cannot comment honestly.
Who was your favorite character and why?
It has to be Paige. Making new friends at school doesnt seem so bad for her when she meets her ideal boyfriend, Mr Popular Noah Snyder. The only problem is, hes a ghost!
This is something she is unwilling to believe at first, however eventually she has to accept that its true, he really is a ghost, and not only that but he actually used to live in her new home until he killed himself six months earlier. The problem is, Noah doesnt know how he died and needs to find answers. So she sets about helping him to discover who killed this seemingly popular boy, and how it happened. However, as she endeavours to discover the truth, she finds herself unintentionally placed in great danger.
Have you listened to any of Pamela Lorences other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first story I've heard read by Pamela Lorence however I thoroughly enjoyed her narration.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No but it was very enjoyable,
    Any additional comments?
This is a really good story for teens and young adults especially, however, as an adult, I have to say that it kept my attention right through.
    YA mystery
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this audiobook to a friend. The performance was great and I have many friends I think would enjoy the story.

    Publisher's Summary:
All These Things I've Done, the first novel in the Birthright series, introduced us to timeless heroine Anya Balanchine, a plucky sixteen year old with the heart of a girl and the responsibilities of a grown woman. Now eighteen, life has been more bitter than sweet for Anya. She has lost her parents and her grandmother, and has spent the better part of her high school years in trouble with the law. Perhaps hardest of all, her decision to open a nightclub with her old nemesis Charles Delacroix has cost Anya her relationship with Win.
Still, it is Anya's nature to soldier on. She puts the loss of Win behind her and focuses on her work. Against the odds, the nightclub becomes an enormous success, and Anya feels like she is on her way and that nothing will ever go wrong for her again. But after a terrible misjudgment leaves Anya fighting for her life, she is forced to reckon with her choices and to let people help her for the first time in her life.
In the Age of Love and Chocolate is the story of growing up and learning what love really is. It showcases the best of Gabrielle Zevin's writing for young adults: The intricate characterization of Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac and the big-heartedness of Elsewhere. It will make you remember why you loved her writing in the first place.
    Members Reviews:
    Good Start, Soft Ending
After the high of the previous book, I was really looking forward to reading the third of this series wanting to see what steps Anya would take next. I like the idea of tackling social justice issues head on and Anya does just that. The romantic relationships with Anya were a bit too simplistic and lacked heat in this book. In the end, the book kind of wrapped up with a slow sizzle and left readers turning the next few end pages looking for a punch, cliff hanger, or profound resolution. Nope just a list of other books to purchase.
A perfect end to a great series. I will really miss Win and Anya!!
This is the last book in the Birthright series, featuring harsh yet awesome Anya Balanchine. Through the first two books, she has lost a lot of her family due to her life in organized crime (her family runs in the black market chocolate business) and has fallen in love with a boy who she has no business loving. She been arrested, on the run, been proposed to. She has been thrown into the family business whether she likes it or not. Now, we are at the end, and Anya is going to be making the toughest decisions so far.
This is more of an overview of the entire series so bear with me.
While All These Things Iâve Done started out slow, the series quickly picked up speed and by the end of the first book, I was pretty hooked. Yes, I was in love with Win. Because who wouldnât be? And yes, I loved Anya. She frustrated me, making huge mistakes and bad choices. Her selfishness was severe and harsh, her judgement strong especially to those she claimed to love. I loved her drive and restlessness, and how sometimes not everyone can understand you and you have to leave some people behind. She makes some bad choices, ones that she regrets and by the third book, she is so frail and fragile, itâs a wonder itâs the same character. This is when I fell in love with Anya again- right here, vulnerable and unsure of herself. To be broken and brought down so low, and to find a way to rise up again.

Entertaining with a realistic feel for the narrator
I had read and liked the first episode of another Plympton-publisher Kindle Serial,Hacker Mom. After I posted a review of it, I got an email from Plympton co-founder Jennifer 8. Lee, thanking me and suggesting I check out another of their titles. As a 50s male, a paranormal story about a teenage girl is not my usual "cup of tea", though I wonder if that's true since I adored James Schmitz' stories about psi-wieldingTelzey Amberdon, but since Jennifer asked so nicely I figured I'd give it a "fair go".
The first thing I was struck by was how authentic the "voice" of Lilith felt. It really read as I imagined a 17-year-old girl might write, rather than what an adult pretending to be a 17-year-old might. The story so far introduces the situation well and has its own share of intrigue and adventure, but I am looking forward to seeing what's next.
I am happy to see Plympton (and Amazon) resurrecting the notion of the serial for e-books. I regularly read serials in science fiction magazines, but the form has generally disappeared from mainstream publishing. I liked the concept so much that I became a backer of Plympton's project on Kickstarter and will definitely check out more in this series.
    September 23, 2012
I've now read Episode 2 and realized that this is not a "paranormal" story but rather straight-on science fiction. Dr. Hammer, whom Lilith calls her "personal mad scientist", created a mechanism that allows jumping (literally) between two worlds. Are there more than two? At this point in the story, that is not known. Lilith finds that her life in the "other Earth" has diverged quite a lot from what she knows, and she now needs to solve a mystery for both worlds! I'm very much enjoying this and am glad that it isn't too long between episodes!
It left a bad taste in my head
I wish I hadn't read this. It left a bad taste in my head. I'm still trying to work out the logic, even thought it's obvious the novel contradicted its own logic. Questions weren't answered. The title is misleading - Lilith doesn't jump enough alternate universes to warrant the word "many" in the title. This isn't a fun multiverse romp, and Lilith sees multiple versions of her family and friends similarly to how Rick does in Rick and Morty, but without the long history to justify it. It also demonizes child abuse victims?? Just.

Poetic Riveting Story reviewed in a not-so-poetic- way ÂÂ
OH. MY. LORDYNESS. This book was just AMAZING! I haven't read such a book in AGES now! The characters 'blossomed', yes, blossomed, for there is no other way to put it. It was fast paced in relevance with the first book, and it definitely kept my interest going, even when I wasn't reading it, my mind couldn't help but continue going over the wonderful-amazingness I've read, and attempting to figure out what would occur next. (Sure enough, I never guessed things right, which in this case is odd because lately that's all I've been doing with books and grown tired of it.) Anyway, my review isn't much of a review, just disorganised rambling, I wish I had more of a poetic way of attempting to describe this book, but alas, this is why I'm not a writer.
First, let me explain that from the beginning I was an Armand/Eleanore fan, though I didn't dislike Jesse at all, but I thought, maybe having a love triangle would make it tedious, yet Abé pulled it off nicely. For those who decided to continue reading my overly obsessed ramblings, and those who missed the first installment, Jesse was fated to become a star, and I don't mean the type people can make money off of, he's still very much present in this book and in fact, has a lot to answer for in regards to the destiny of both Armand and Eleanore.
If the characters were a bit flat in the beginning (of the first installment), or if any of you readers found it tiresome how it took a while for them to settle in as actual characters, this book expands their personalities more, and makes you care for them both. Eleanore wasn't the typical teenager heroine, no, she was witty, she was a subtle fighter, she didn't let anything bring her down, she loved and care for passionately, her mind and actions made sense, and she was always eating like there wouldn't be another tomorrow XD. SHE HAD AN ACTUAL PERSONALITY. Unlike some typical mainstream novels that go by some sort of guide on how to make their heroines act.

    Publisher's Summary:
Three curses. Two brothers. One love triangle. Sometimes love is meant to be. But sometimes... love is the death of you.
17-year-old Scarlet has just died. Only, dying isn't unusual for a girl under a centuries old curse that left her semi-immortal. This time, though, she comes back to her current life instead of awaking in a new one, and she realizes her curse is changing. With the help of the immortal Archer brothers, Scarlet tries to piece together her life and break the curse before her impending death comes again.

    Fun paranormal series
Love that survives five centuries is two thumbs up in my book. Scarlet is cursed along with twin immortal brothers that she happens to be in an epic love triangle with. Tristan and Sebastian both love Scarlet but only one of them is her true love but she can't remember which one it is. The brothers have all of their memories of all of Scarlet's past lives but they won't let her in on the secret ( bad boys...) Scarlet slowly starts having flash backs of past lives until the end of the book she remembers everything. Love triangle, immortals, evil witches and awesome banter. I like this series a lot, being a mom it is weird listening about a hot immortal guy with the same name as your son, but whatever... it happens. I only have minor complaint, like the narrator, she wasn't horrible, but she wasn't great either...AND Scarlet's best friend Heather embodies the stereo typically teenage blonde a little too well...and sometimes I find myself wanting to break my ipod every time she says "OMG"...ugh....enough with the OMG's!
    Wonderful
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I prefer to say that I have a interesting time listening this book. I enjoyed myself. The sequence is indendiary.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
At first I didn't like, but I needed to listening the last 3 chapters again, and I thought the ending give us a link to read the third book, and discover what will happen with everybody.
What aspect of Carla Caprettos performance would you have changed?
    Nothing, I liked her.
Did Awry inspire you to do anything?
To be honest, no. But I'm anxious to listening the last book.
    Any additional comments?
The Archers of Avalon is a wonderful series. Very simple, but great. Like I said, I enjoyed listening the book, and I'd recommend to my friends as a soft listening.
