    Publisher's Summary:
The whole thing about relationships and feelings confuses the heck out of Calhoun. He's a simple cowboy and he'd been planning to marry a long-time friend for a while. When he finally realizes it doesn't feel right, he lets her go. He probably shouldn't have gone to her wedding to another man, but she wanted him there. But that's when he really gets confused. His eye is drawn to a seriously hot businessman...and that sure does unnerve him...and yet....
Emotionally burned by the last man he thought he'd loved, Daniel isn't anxious to replace him. But there is something about the proud, bedroom-eyed cowboy who shows up at his friend's wedding. The CEO isn't even sure if the cowboy's gay, although the heat firing between them makes him wonder....
What he does know is that he plans to find out.

    Steamy gay romp
If you could sum up The CEO and the Cowboy in three words, what would they be?
A very enjoyable love story between two very different men.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The CEO and the Cowboy?
When the two men first meet and the cowboy finds himself attracted to another man.
    Which scene was your favorite?
    The whipping scene.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I wasn't sure what to expect, but found it interesting and well written.
    Any additional comments?
Starla Kaye does an excellent job of bringing out the passion in her stories.
    Hot
In The CEO and The Cowboy we meet Calhoun as the unwanted guest at his ex-fiancee's wedding when he meets Daniel and find out he's attracted to a man for the first time in his life. He's stuck between wanting to run back to his ranch and allowing his body to lead him. Daniel is still reeling from the last relationship he had with another man but when he meets Calhoun he can't help being attracted to the cowboy. He is definitely a persuasive man and they end up in bed together. These two together were certainly hot. But will happen after their lust is sated? Could there be more between them?
    Hmmmm Different But Good
This was a good short story. If you like male in male stories and you like them with a lot of dirty talk then this book is for you. I rated it at r stars because I didn't really care for the voices of the characters so it was hard for me to get into listening to this and I would of liked it to be longer. Other then that it was a great story.
not at all sure about the narration!
    Any additional comments?
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I Dig Good Books. I was gifted and audio copy of this book.
Calhoun probably shouldn't have gone to his ex-fiancée's wedding, but she wanted him there. He meets Daniel, the groom's friend. Daniel is still reeling from his last relationship. But something about the cowboy calls to him.
Its only short, 40 pages according to Amazon, and one hour 25 minutes listening time, hence its filed on the hangover cure, and short story shelf.
I usually split the story from the narration. I can't do that here, because for me, the narration spoilt it.
Chase Johnson narrates. He makes Calhoun sound so ANGRY all the time! I didn't like his portrayal of when Daniel takes Calhoun back to his house, that came over all kinds of wrong. Not at all an easy bit to listen to.
THEN we have their reunion. This bit is where the AUTHOR lets the book down.

    Publisher's Summary:
Nadine Scott, a high-powered attorney from Manhattan, returns to her childhood home in the small town of Maxon to settle her great aunt Molly's estate. Aunt Molly was her only relative and had lived in the same home for her entire 105 years. Nadine knows that the task of preparing the property to be sold, after disbursing all of its contents, is going to be an emotional task requiring at least a month or two of her time. As she shops for groceries for her extended stay, she discovers that David Maxon, her high school sweetheart, has also suffered a recent loss, his father, and has permanently moved back to town to take over the family business.
David is eager to renew his connection with Nadine and the two explore their feelings and help each other come to terms with their grief as they spend evenings together reading the extensive collection of journals that Aunt Molly has left. Detailing her life beginning in 1929, the extraordinary story of Aunt Molly unfolds as Nadine and David share their thoughts and responses to each new event. Their love blooms in present day, played out against the background of Aunt Molly's loves, losses, and new loves. An indomitable woman who became the sole parent for her orphaned great niece at the age of 80, her journal entries convey the mixture of love, tragedy, joy and family that shaped the remarkable person who told her great niece that she was loved enough for 10 people.

This was a beautiful story about two people finding one another again after many years. David and Nadine, Deeny, have known each other their whole lives. They dated in high school. Once, when Deeny had lied to her Aunt Molly about where she was, David came and found her and dragged her out. When she persisted in arguing with him, he took her to the back of the car and spanked her bottom until she was sorry. After that, she buckled down and studied hard and went to college to become a lawyer. David also studied hard at college and went on to a career. We meet everyone when Nadine comes home to close up Mollyâs house and to go through her things after she dies. She finds Mollyâs journals that she has been writing since she was 19. She starts reading them and learns about her great aunt Molly, her grandmother Tessa and her mother Lizzy. She meets David again, he has taken over his fatherâs store and is living in town. They get together and they start reading the journals together. While reading their relationship starts to grow. I really enjoyed this story. The spankings were mostly of a disciplinary nature and were well written. All the characters that the author wrote about were well developed. I would love to read a sequel. I give this 5 stars.
    Past Love Returns
This is a sweet story about Nadine who returns to her old home after her great-aunt Molly passes away at the age of 105. Not only does Nadine discover journals written by her Aunt detailing her long life and family history, she discovers that her high school love for David hasnât disappeared. David has also returned to the small town to take over the family store after his fatherâs death. As the two read the journals together, their love is re-ignited â even more so when Deeny learns that David believes that having a hot bottom will teach his love to not only behave, but to love and forgive herself.

I love audiobooks to do with coffee. It was better than I thought. Since I'm a fan of coffee.
    Sweet story!
The Coffee Girl is a sweet story and an enjoyable one to listen to. The narration by Hollis McCarthy was pleasant.
Cute, I like it when it all just works out!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It was cute, I appreciate a sweet love story with out the ronchy love making. The main character sounds cute like a friend I would have, and her love interest is described well with, the want to see how things go possibly in a follow up book.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Kinda thought I could go either way, really. But happy endings are what all women are after.
    Loved it!
What made the experience of listening to The Coffee Girl the most enjoyable?
The narrator was fabulous. She brought the characters to life and was a pleasure to listen to.
    Any additional comments?
The Coffee Girl was a cute story. This outstanding narration sold it! Occasionally, I got confused on which male character was talking, but I might not have been paying good enough attention. Otherwise, it was great.

There is so much not to like
I had to check and make sure this wasnt written in 1980, first of all. The behaviors, nicknames, cars, even mannerisms all are the kind of old that is boring - not retro. There is no story here at all - the major conflict comes about 7.5 hours into the book, and is resolved in no time. I honestly wish Id quit reading a couple of hours in but I wanted to give it a chance since so many others seemed to like it.
Please do yourself a favor and just dont get this book. Its not exciting, heart wrenching, not interesting, not even delightfully entertaining. I havent been this bored by a book since high school summer reading.

    Modern Western Chicklit
What other book might you compare Dream Kisses to and why?
I don't really do that. I see each book and/or series as its own entity. I think that saying it isn't makes less of the work and the author!
Have you listened to any of Wendy Rich Stetsons other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first time listening to her! I really enjoyed her performance and will definitely be listening to more of her :)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did listen to this book in one sitting!
    Any additional comments?
This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book.
Mims is a famous romance novelist who is kind of sour on love. She believes in it for her characters... Just not a plain Jane like herself. Meeting the cover model Sage from her books sends her info a bit of a tailspin. Her editor and his joke on her just was not amusing! Now she can't write. Needing to finish her book, she books six long weeks at a dude ranch hoping to find real-life inspiration and insight into her modern chicklit western romance. Too bad Fate is conspiring against her! Will she make it to the ranch? Will she get her book written on time? Will she survive the lack of civilization?
Sage hates being a sex symbol. Too bad it pays the bills. What can he do? He has to make a living somehow to keep his ranch and all the land. How did Mims end up on his ranch as a dude? Is someone playing a joke on them? All he knows is that she intrigues him. Will they get along? Or will he lose a paying guest and a cover model job in one fell swoop? Will he win her over? Or send running back to the city?
***This series is suitable for adult listeners (or readers) who enjoy modern romance with chicklit overtones in a western setting filled with fun and second chances while learning to love again and move past tragedies of the past :)
    Loved Dream Kisses Audiobook.
I haven't read or listened to a Verna Clay novel before, but would not hesitate to read any of her books. The Narration was great. Wendy Rich Stetson had great distinguishable voices for each character. Sage's sexy appeal shone through her voice. I did not have to re-listen to any part of the audiobook to understand the words be spoken. She made the characters come to life so that I did not want to say goodbye to them. I will listen to any book narrated by Wendy Stetson and in fact my next book is narrated by her too. I would also read any Verna Clay novel. Great job!

But For The Sexual Scenes This Is Young Adult
Melissa Barr did a great job performing the mostly, young men and women portrayed in this book. If it hadn't been for her performance and because *I was given this book in exchange for my review. I may have shut it off earlier and been done with it.
I'd suggest a rewrite, clean up the language and the mature scenes and I think this book might fit very well in the Young Adult category. However, this should not be categorized as Contemporary Romance or anything similar. It sounded like a bunch of kids who had been tight for years until a few cracks started to appear in the name of Blake.
If not for the sexual scenes this most certainly should be categorized as Yong Adult. There was no real sub plot, mystery or action to go along with the dialogue.
If you read my other reviews you will see that strong language does not make me turn off a book. I was really turned off by the constant vile language.
I really hate to use terms like average when grading a book. The author has such bravery and self assurance to put a book out, from her heart to the public something I would never be able to do. So, major kudos to the author.
I want to give potential listeners my experience in listening to this book. It seemed to drag on..... There were also parts where the heroine would explain a set up and how it affected her or how she felt. The next chapter the same scene was described only from the heroe's point of view.
    Okay, enough of that.
Notes: mature themes, strong and constant bad language

Once upon a time she was that student...and the scars remain eight years after it ended. Yet this guy seems different from the others. Despite the alarm bells in her head warning her about history repeating itself, she is drawn toward the forbidden once again - even though this time it could consume her.

Together they light up the night, but will their powerful desire lead them to love - or drag them both to the brink of disaster?
Warning: Contains a younger man so hot he might scorch your fingertips and forbidden lust so tempting there's no point in trying to resist. Check your inhibitions at the door - it's WTFery 101, and class is in session.

saying dirty things to her so she resisted even more
Eleanor is a law professor and Luc is in her class. Started out average enough, with him lusting after her and her turning him down because he's her student and so much younger then her. Luc came on really strong, saying dirty things to her so she resisted even more. Then their back stories were revealed and things became more interesting. The scene in her office made me flush. Luc was a child solider and had seen some terrible things, he feels cold and numb. Eleanor makes him feel and he wants her desperately. I loved that desperation and need in him. Eleanor is afraid to trust due to past issues with her ex-husband, but she needs what Luc wants to give her. Enoyed this a lot.
    WOW. TOUCHING STEAMY
I am pleasantly impressed. I loved this book. It was totally different from anything I have read. This was an amazing erotic romance between a Professor and her student, whom happened to be 25 and with a dark past. He was kidnapped by the Militia at 12 yrs old and ordered to kill innocent people. This is all I am going to say, but I highly recommend this book.
This novel had potential wasn't this author's best effort.
I am a huge Jackie Ashenden fan. Unfortunately, Living in Shadow fell short of expectations. The book lacked character development and I never felt truly invested in either of them or their relationship. Luc's history was quite interesting but I never felt his character was truly realized on paper. This novel had potential wasn't this author's best effort.
    Five Stars
I loved the whole idea behind this book. I have never been disappointed by anything Jackie writes.
    A Riveting Emotional Seductive Story
Heart wrenchingly honest, this tale of two damaged souls finding redemption in each other is the story of Lucien and Eleanor. Eleanor is a professor of law, on the outside a poised sophisticated woman but carrying the scars of a past abusive relationship. Lucien is her student, old beyond his years in maturity and life experience if not in age. He too carries scars from his life as a child soldier in Africa.

Where does SEAL Brotherhood Boxed Set No. 2 rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
This is one of the most enjoyable audios I have listened to. With the addition of the novella SEAL Endeavour and the interaction between Coop and Fredo and the near misses with Libby made it extra special.
What other book might you compare SEAL Brotherhood Boxed Set No. 2 to and why?
It is unique because it has the novella where we are introduced to the hero and heroine but through a series of near misses they never actually meet
Which character as performed by J.D. Hart was your favorite?
Coop is an all time favourite. Especially J.D's narration of his character
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several moments that moved me especially the one where Coop finds his dog.
    Any additional comments?
This is a marvellous sensual and sensitive addition to J.D Hart's and Sharon Hamilton's amazing on going collaboration
