Plausible Deniability sounds like the title of a political thriller, not a time travel story, but thatâs just what it is. This is the fourth in a series of books that follow Kallie, a time traveling woman who finds herself fighting for the wellbeing of her people against a madman who is obsessed with their abilities to shift in time or distance. The last book left off in such a way that one could assume the story was over, but it isnât. This is time travel, after all. What the past books revealed now seem to be just the tip of the iceberg, and Kallieâs newest adventure entwines with past ones in new and interesting ways.

Unlike in the previous books, the pace doesnât slow much at all. Despite having all of her lifetime to work with, Kallieâs efforts in this book are portrayed with a sense of urgency and a pace much more conducive to keeping me, as the reader, engaged in the story. There is another fundraising effort, and if youâve read the previous three, you know what I mean there, but it doesnât focus on the details quite so much. I thought it was well done and interesting. It also had a point, a definite place in the plot, and some rather dangerous moments. I like that.

I also get the feeling that Kallieâs making some rather bad choices in this book, leaving plenty of questions and potential for action and danger in future installments. Sheâs breaking some of the fundamental rules of her people, all under the burden of friendship and compassion. They are strong motivators.

As for the romantic elements, I thought they were mild but well done.

A fantastic read!

A fantastic sequel to The Immortal Mark. Absolutely loved and enjoyed this book from start to end.

That twist at the end! So looking forward to the next book.

Perfect narration!

Great read.

Unlike the first book the second concentrates more on the characters, the immortals and how to break the bracelets without the consequence.

I liked the narrator, I thought she was perfect for this book.

An the mystery unfolds...

This 2nd installment was great. In the 1st book we learned that the immortals are siphoning the life from their "life blood" to fuel their immortality. This 2nd installment is focused on how to get the bracelets off break the life blood connection. This was a growing book were we learn a little more about the characters and the mystery around the immortals. I am looking forward to the next installment!

Narration is great. Very happy with the production quality.

Kick A** Main Character!!

Bix was 12 when the world as she knew it ended! Her mother sent her "to play" because her father was in one of his "moods". He was abusive and her mother did all she could to shield Bixby, so that day, Bix went to the park. While there something strange happened, a mist started creeping in. This mist made it impossible to breathe, and Bixby thought that this was the end, but she eventually was able to breathe again. When she got up, she saw a homeless man becoming..... something. Running home, she realised both her parents were dead. Devastated, she had no idea what to do, but someone came to her rescue and now 8 years later, Bix is still with the group and still fighting to survive.

This was a solid 5 star read, even though one thing really, really annoyed me with it!! Usually when a book has something annoying in it, it loses a star right away, but this was too good to lose one!! I loved everything about it except the part with Sam. I feel like I missed a book because something obviously happened and I don't know what!!! Apart from the feeling of missing a big part of Bixbys life, this book was amazing.

Bixby was a kick ass character. Gosh, she didn't take any s**t from anyone!!! She has a heart of gold but only a very few people see it. She isn't afraid to do what's needed and isn't afraid to stand up for herself. She was awesome even when she was obnoxious!! The author wrote her in such a way where you can see how and why she is the way she is, though the bit with Sam would make me understand her more I think ;) Anyway, every character is extremely well written and developed and memorable, which is important.

I also loved the plot of this!! How the mist came about is believable, the way it changes the people is well developed and also the way they are advancing and adapting was well done!! It's so refreshing to have a new and unique post apoc book filled with strong female characters. I applaud the author for this and am really looking forward to more from her!!!

In all, this was an action packed, edge of your seat, scary read. I flew through it and actually jumped a few times while listening. It's bleak and gruesome at parts, but it was captivating and amazing. I also have to applaud the author for the fact that the female lead isn't in a love triangle, nor is she reliant on a man!! She sleeps with one of the group and while she has feelings for him, it's not a major part of the story. Bix is well able to handle herself and I loved that!! Brilliantly written and perfectly executed, this is a must read!!!

Marnye Young was also amazing. The level of emotion she showed during scenes really made the performance pop. She gave her all and it showed.

starter Zone it's not just the name of the book

star stone is not just the name .of the book . it is exactly what this book is. this is if you have never read lit RPG novel then this is the book for you to get your to get you acquainted with it while it starts out slow it belts in its intensity and will allow you to get to understand the terminology that are part of this genre also this author shows promise if you read this we should definitely understand that this is a I first try cording to geek bites podcast there's definitely room for improvement which will come as the author or it's more about the genre and Lawrence from other authors this author's writings though a good read show something even more important this author has the potential to create a subgenre of a lit RPG that would be in the vein of Frank Herbert's Dune this office shows a great of current problems with fresh drinking water hopefully sir will bring more ideas that involve environmental problems but in a much more creative fashion basically people this author is someone to follow you can see that this author is at the beginning of their career and that they have the potential to rise to Heights that will have their books being study in universities in high schools if they can find that path it is not an unfair assessment to say that this could be the next Frank Herbert

Shadow Run

SHADOW RUN is an action-packed adventure from the very first page. Intrigue and mystery are the name of the game, leaving you on the edge of your seat and flipping pages even more rapidly with with every passing scene. While some plot may have been a tad predictable, it did not detract from how enjoyable the overall story was, and in fact, these instances lull you into a sense of complacency, thinking you know where something's headed, before coming at you with a wallop of a twist.

Also, this book has essentially everything I love: ragtag group of people forming a found family; space travel; a cinnamon roll boy and a badass, strong, intelligent girl falling for each other; snarky banter; slow burn romance; morality battles; a genderfluid babe and his queer lover; inexplicably strong supernatural abilities; and more!

I'm so intrigued by the Shadow and Qole's ability to access the energy's power, and I cannot wait to see how Strickland and Miller will expand on the characters finding answers. Basra and Arjan are my everything, individually and together. Telu is my small child that I want only good things for, and I'm looking forward to more of grumpy Eton and his endless cache of weapons. And Nev, my prince, I am excited and nervous to see where he'll go from here, after the events of the last few chapters. I want to know everything.

An exciting ride

I absolutely devoured this book. I've been hungry for characters with more diverse backgrounds and perspectives - just something NEW with my favorite style of space adventures. Shadow Run totally delivered for me. Qole is one of my favorite new characters in a while, I really wanted to spend more time in her head. The way the crew balanced and conflicted with one another, the intelligent ways the authors created distinct cultures with disparate wealth and reach, and the gender-fluid character of Basra - I totally loved it. The pace starts off somewhat deliberate, but it's a straight sprint to the end that had me biting my nails. I'm so glad to learn that more books are on the way.

Quite more like Serenity than I expected !! SPOILERS !!

Good Series So Far

So far so good, interesting premise like the Roman Empire with Magic and of course the good old romance continues, but don't worry it is far from the main focus in this second book. Very well narrated by Jennifer English.

Great sequel

I loved this book. Once again the performance was spot on and at times my heart was really pumping. I wasn't keen on the love triangle aspect I have to be honest but luckily the story kept me gripped and I ignored the Ruby/Kai moments as much as possible. Really looking forward to Night Blood.

A Good Message In A Good Story

Iâm honestly not sure how to approach this review. There are many different aspects to this book that make me pause when I try to figure out exactly what rating it deserves.

Let me start by saying, this is a good book: it has a great concept, and a very strong message for young readers and parents alike. Butâ there is just something strange about it. Maybe itâs the odd illustrations, the weird names of the characters, or maybe the coordination in the story.

The story centers on a young man who has been having trouble in schoolâlike most young boys. What makes Boone so special is that he takes out all of his problems on everyone around himâspecifically the timid kids, as his mother saysâbut Booneâs major problem is the prettiest girl in school. Unfortunately for him, this beauty is not interested which causes him to lash out at every guy who dares to even look at her.

Being the responsible parent that she is, Booneâs mother seeks help for her sonâs behavior and thatâs where the barbershop comes into play. When Logan, the local barber, witnesses Boone acting out against his mother, he decides to step in and help. Except the help he can offer isnât anything like what Boone or his mother expected.

Logan has Boone transported to a world whose inhabitants have one goal: to deprogram bullies. That means Boone gets turned into a robot and must learn his lesson or risk losing everything.

What I found so interesting about this book was the concept itself. I have never really been to a barber before but I thought the inclusion of such a relationship in the story was unique. Youâre supposed to be able to trust your barbers and confide in them, not get sent to another world. Even though I had read the description to the story before agreeing to review it, I was still surprised by how things unfolded. Everything seemed so ordinary in the beginning until suddenly, the main character was a robot in another dimension.

Now, the things I didnât like about this story were definitely the illustrations and the style of writing. Iâm a bit lenient on this book because it is for children but I just wish itâd had stronger writing. Sometimes it felt like I was reading a grocery list: Boone did this, then Boone said that, Boone smiled, Boone felt angry, blahâblahâblahâ When a book reads like that, it feels less like a story and more like a point by point replay of a story.

My last complaint, which is more of a personal note than anything, is the target audience.

Must read for lovers of apocalypse type genra!

This book and its predecessor are awesome and must be read! They are very well thought out with great character development and world building ! These books go by the name Plague Land in the printed version, which is where I discovered this series. However, it was so good I promptly purchased it on audible too! On audible and Kindle they are called Reborn and REMADE. (Don't know why different names) Remade, book 2 being the one I am reviewing now. Either way, if you havn't read the first I highly recommend you do so and then grab this one asap! The quality of the narrorater is high. I believe he is British but does different voices for each character, not over the top but just right. I do believe I have a new name to put on my favorite narrorater's list yay! (Geoffrey Breton)
