Some have very special gifts!

Truly a great story if you are in the mood for ghosts! I have enjoyed reading all of Scott William Carter's books. I have been watching Closely for any new book! I first found him through reading another of his series, and a few stand alone books. I love the way words flow in his writing. One of my favorite things is to read someone who enjoys language fully and creatively! This is not a " spooky " tale.

A man of the living can see and speak to those who have passed to the next realm. This connected is rare. Both worlds fear his ability.

Scott William Carter means solid entertainment!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Ghost, the Girl, and the Gold to be better than the print version?

Of course, it always is. It turned the book into a play.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Ghost, the Girl, and the Gold?

The graveyard scene where Myron confesses to Alesha that he sees ghosts. The premise is outlandish but served up with such relish and panache, you just fall into it and wallow around in it like you're in a vat of your favorite nut butter.

Which character as performed by Steven Roy Grimsley was your favorite?

Alesha, the loyal longing maybe-lover detective who assists and berates our protagonist, Myron Vale, into doing his best.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The end (I wont' give it away) but it tells of how the life of an abandoned girl is given a second chance at life.

This is the third in the Myron Vale, Ghost Detective series. The story is a blend of science fiction and the paranormal. It's a fun ride where Carter let's his imagination run wild like a kid on the playground without a curfew.

A good story, but much too short. Well-written, well narrated. But, too many loose ends & not enough substance. I felt like I had been dropped into the story without any background.

This is a quick get to know you for the characters and their stories. As an intro it was good and the narration was well done. I would like to hear more in the form of a traditional audiobook. The characters were fleshed out well and the mystery solved while socially important issues were addressed. Overall good listen. A Well Written Short Story

Tower Lowe Introduces us to Cinnamon and Burro short stories with a well written tale of a murder young boy who was found by the roadside. The narrative not only works to solve the mystery but to expose the conditions of the school and the and the care not provided.

The narrative also introduces us to the characters and their interactions that will continue throughout the series.

This story is well worth a listen.

This is the first book by the author that I read and I can say that I truly enjoyed it as the well-written crime novel that it is.

Both the author and narrator were new to me. I found both to be very talented. This is a fast moving and intriguing story that had me hooked from the beginning. slow start, but great book

It started out pretty slow, but once it picked up it was great. I was constantly trying to figure out who the kidnappers were. It was well written and easy to follow. The narrator did a great job. She was smooth and easy to listen to. Glad I read this book.

Absolute Liability

Great Story! Excellent Detective Thriller. Julia is an insurance investigator that seems to have become the center of attention of criminals. When a co-worker is kidnapped in her place so and her new partner investigate several cases while trying to determine whose after her.

This is the beginning of a great series and I look forward to more.....

The narration was exceptionally well done. She does a good jobs with perfect voice inflections making it easy to discern the characters without having to change her voice.

Masterful Narration

The story is great but what makes this book is the narrator. Heather Masters voices all characters brilliantly, from the strong willed heroine to her southern belle mother. Even the ex-military male investigator is done perfectly. Probably the most enjoyed Audiobook I've listened to.

I liked it

Solid. Good story. Kept me guessing. Took a while to figure out how it would end. Author worked hard at keeping the ending from falling flat as so many books do. He succeeded. Narrator might seem off putting at first. But hang in there are the voice grows on you until it feels familiar.

unnecessarily gruesome, awful narrator

Tho this book depicts a disturbed psychopathic killer, it provides a degree of gruesome detail far beyond what's needed to drive the plot or characterisation. The book drags on and on, not helped by a narrator who reads it like a shopping list with an appalling 'British' accent. An auditory ordeal

Love Carl Hiaasen books

Would you listen to Razor Girl again? Why?

Yes, I have already listened to it twice. It's funny and enjoyable to listen to.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Razor Girl?

Finding the beard in the kitchen fryer.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You can make a film out of a Car Hiaasen book they end up a bit wrong, they are too intricate to be squashed down into 1 film.

One of his very best

The usual Hiaasen mix but notable for an even more satisfactorily convoluted plot than usual and a wonderful new character in the Razor Girl of the title. Add in brilliant narration and I'd suggest you really can't go wrong with this one.

Quite a few characters to keep track of, but a good story that had me hooked.

The best and most entertaining Hiaasen book since his last book

Like all of Hiaasens books there is a tremendous sense of sadness when you get to the last couple of chapters and realise the roller coaster ride is soon going to be over.

Good story coupled with interesting plot lines and twists. Plus in this story some bitting satire on the whole ludicrous fake reality TV shows.

Good vocal performance by the narrator completes a very satisfying audio book.

Modern French Murder Mystery

This is the second in the series and, while I like the Inspector, the story wasn't as interesting as his first novel. It was a little hard to understand the crime scene location, perhaps a translation issue? The other thing I noticed was the inspector's mother's arrival was mentioned throughout the book--until the end. Then nothing. Did she show up? We don't know. It could've been one sentence or a paragraph, but I kept waiting for her to either cancel her trip or walk into her son's favorite restaurant. Anyway, I'll probably reach for the 3rd in the series, but hope for more character details--especially with the other detectives.And maybe the entrance of mom.

Makes us want to go to Brittany!

Love these. Wish more were translated into English.

Excellent crime novel set in France. Loved not only the plot, but the very interesting setting on islands off of Brittany. Second book in this series - love these books.

OK read and OK narration..

Ill tell you one thing: This woman, Kate, was the whiniest and most frightened heroine Ive ever read about. She was obviously molested by her stepfather when she was a teenager BUT now shes 24 and still scared spitless of him. At 24 she should have been ready to kick the s**t out of him. And what was soooo stupid is that she got up her courage to go to his house for her mothers laptop and was so afraid of him he hit her in the back twice to get her to start breathing again, because he didnt want her to die on his front porch, she was that afraid of him. And then after she gets herself together and leaves Darryl is thinking how brave shed become, how much steel shed gotten in her backbone. OMG, that was the stupidest thing Ive ever read. At 50% I wasnt even sure I wanted to finish this. I cant stand heroines that are so weak and wimpy for so long. She never got any better. She whined and cried through the whole book.

I was surprised that the hero was from the Aboriginal Australians. I dont believe Ive ever read about them in any of my romance novels. LOL, he was described as having skin the color of a latte. I thought that was kind of a yummy color.

There were some thoughts from Riley about seeing Kate undressed, and thoughts similar to that. And thoughts from Kate about how handsome he was, but no real sexual tension, which you wouldnt expect since you know about her childhood, so the amount of sexual tension and sex that was in The Profiler was not anything like that in this book, at least up to 60%.

Of course, there was sex. At about 80%, and then there was 2 or 3 explicit sex scenes during the remainder of the book.

There was swearing and the F-bomb was used 13 times.

I gave it 3 stars for everything about the book except the heroine (she gets 1 star in my book). Toooo much whining for me.

As to the narrators: Noah Michael Levine did a great job on the men and Erin deWard did a great job on all the womens voices, except for Kates. Kate was weak and frightened and Ms.
