Good beginning and middle, not a very good ending
This book broke my heart. I was at first completely hooked: in the beginning, middle and almost to the last few minutes of the narration, you're truly enjoying the story, and then wham! Everything goes horribly wrong so quickly and you're left wondering, what?? It hurts, because this story has it all: there's action, romance, humor, tragedy, mystery and magic. The main character is likeable, for once you get a strong female lead who doesn't wimp out easily, while she's also a real girl with real insecurities. Now, I understand that the writer might be trying to prove a point at the end: how an impulsive, desperate move might change your life completely, and maybe how courage can't make up for inexperience when one's opponent is someone much older and powerful. But the lesson is brutally learned, in my opinion, and although there were hints all along that something bad will happen, it still took me completely by surprise by its harshness. Mostly, the cliff-hanger left me with a frustrating, uncomfortable feeling that was completely out of tune with the rest of the story, which is too bad, because the majority of the book is very enjoyable and well written.
    Which witch is which?
An interesting story of magic users and abusers running through a maze of character uncertainties.
    good read
it was a good read but if I read it myself
I would have put it down before finishing
    narrator was great!
    Funny, crazy, fantastic magic
Great book. good clean fun for anyone. Can't wait for the sequel. There so much more to be explored.
    holy guacamole
I was totally fooled!!!! That was such an evil plot! Good thing I didn't turn it off when I thought it was over like I almost did. gaaaaaaaaaah!

    Still an amazing series!
To me this 4th one in the series felt a little different. It was still enjoyable but not as much as the first few. Nico is searching for home on the same block as his friends. He comes across the perfect home with a covered boat dock for his gondola. To his surprise negotiations for the home end quickly until he realizes that he bargained himself a marriage in the same proposal.
Oriana just wants to be left alone to do her research and if that means marrying someone then she'll do what needs to be done. She has it all planned out. Until she actually sees Nico for the first time. Things start to unravel from there.
Oriana was definitely passionate once she let herself go with Nico. I loved the story and how it all came down to the end, I just feel like it was missing that little something extra. Maybe more internal dialogue or getting to know the characters a little more. All the novellas in this series appear to be about the same length so it couldn't be that. I just felt like I'd skipped over something.
I love this series and I cannot get enough of them even though this one wasn't a number one favorite I still enjoyed it all the same. So much so that I continued reading well into the wee hours to finish.
    small package, big punch
Ms. Folsom packs an amazing wallop into such a compact package. The Venice Vampyr series follows a group of vampires trying to protect themselves from the self-styled vampire hunters called the Guardians. This installment gives us the story of Nico and Oriana.
As always, the story is a blend of danger and erotica. Nothing too deep, it is a novella, after all, but satisfying none the less. There were a couple of places where the language deviated from the time period (describing his physique as ripped, for instance) and a couple of small editing issues. I can forgive all that, though, because the story is so well written and luscious. The characters come to life amazingly well and the emotions shine through.
Although the story could be read on its own, I'd recommend reading it as part of the series. I'd place the heat level at 8/10. I look forward to the remaining stories in the series, especially the pompous Marcello.
    it was good
I enjoy the series attached to this book. The prior books were all well written and flowed well.
This book was well written, but the premise was rather rushed. A marriage in exchange for a house? The reasoning behind it didn't quite convince me.

    OMG
I want more!! The author made you fall for Charlie even though he was the "bad" guide.
Brilliance of a home schooled woman
I really enjoyed how Addy established goals and let nothing stand in her way. Getting out of the confessional with a Bobby pin after just one lesson in lock picking was shear genius as was her self taught first aid. She could go in to be a self taught super hero.
    Different but sweet
This was a unique view point and I enjoyed the storyline and the narration. Moving on to the second book in the series
    Couldn't even finish it.
Ok this girls is kidnapped after witnessing a crime in progress and right off the bat she finds the one who actually grabbed her attractive? Then when she's not giving him an attitude she's saying please and thank you for one thing or another. And not as a way to stay alive but to be polite? Really??!! After a few chapters of her being snappy with the kidnapper as an out of control teenager would be with her parents I had to stop.

    Demons - bad and good
    Any additional comments?
This was a different take on what we are used to with the Demon world but the story didn't really hold my interest. I never really believed in their romance. I think Arden is portrayed as a demon pretty well but I never felt like he truly loves Nic or that Nic truly loves him. They have hot sex, but the emotions didnt carry forth to me. How was it possible that she could want him so much when she despised him. This frustrated me. They would get intimate, and then hate each other, then get intimate, then hate each other. Until finally they got intimate and realized they loved each other. It just didn't work for me. While I was intrigued by the plot/mystery in the first half of the book, I lost interest in the second half.
*When Nics brother goes missing, she decides to do anything to find him, even if that means calling up a demon. Well the demon part is purely an accident. She starts reading from an old text and all of a sudden, a sexy guy is in her room. Stunned, she knocks him out, but not for long. Arden is a demon and a very sexy one at that. After doing some investigating, he knows who took her brother, the very bad demon named Sorro. Sorro lives in the fourth level of hell, a very dangerous place that Arden doesnt want to go to. (Arden lives on the first level with his brothers and father. A pretty nice demon actually - well, as nice as demons can truly be). Arden decides he will help her under the condition that Nic sleeps with him when all is said and done. He also secretly plans to use Nic as a means to become a full demon. He wants to get her to the fourth, hand her over and embrace his full powers.
    It was ok...
This was ok... there where great moments, boring moments, agnsty moments...even funny moments.... but nothing spectacular!
Crazy concept, girl needs to travel to hell to get her brother back... and called the demon Prince of hell to aid her. That is pretty much the jist... good but not great.
Narration was ok... not a buy... but maybe a credit or sale.
    Narrator Tried Too Hard
This was an excellent book! The story was very interesting and it was hard to stop listening. The only critique I have regards the narrator. Jill Redfield. She was trying way too hard to fully enunciate each word to the point where, in some cases, it sounded like she said something different. (if you listen closely.) It was overkill. Furthermore, there were MANY places where her emphasis was COMPLETELY and UNDENIABLY incorrect to the point where it actually changed the meaning of the sentence she was reading....

The Sazi series continues in this hair-raising, thrill ride of a novel! Cold Moon Rising by C. T. Adams and Kathy Clamp follows the heroic journey of ex-mob hit man Tony Giodone. Now that he is a psychic werewolf, he must use his powers to stop dark forces threatening to consume everything and everyone. Performed by Adam Epstein, this audiobook is a real pause-resistor. Epstein does a wonderful job conveying the suspense and danger that lurk around every corner while still driving home some of the audiobooks more hilarious lines.

Transitions can be understood, with some understanding.
This book has been said to have hard to follow transitions.
In one sense it does not. The viewpoint character is the same throughout the book.
In another sense it does. The same character has a growing power that forces him to share the head, thoughts, and view of other characters. As the viewpoint character is often confused as to who he is, though not often confused as to who he is sharing with, it can then lead the reader to be equally confused.
I have a greater than normal ability to follow transitions. I did not get lost. I knew that I was following one character's line of thoughts, even when those thoughts were the thoughts and actions of another. But there were places where I could understand someone else getting confused.
I noted the kindle problems reported by others, and got a paperback for this onbe.
    Not for Kindle
I like this series very much, but would not buy on Kindle again. The formatting (or lack of) made it too hard to read. I got so frustrated I quit reading it. What I did read seemed like it would be a good book.
    Five Stars
    Great read
    cold moon
I got this to complet the sires that I have so fare and still gating the others, best book ever.
Not a fan of the wolf man
I have devoured all the Moon books in this series. I had to force myself to finish this one. I found the transistions between Ahmed(?) and what's-his-name(See? I can't even remember their names) to be awkward and confusing. The story seemed forced and without any general direction. I hate that this one was such a disappointment. It won't stop me from reading the next one though. I figure every series deserves to have at least one bomb.

    Time Walker Series
This is the second book I have read in this series. Although not as good as the first book it was still very interesting and well worth reading ( listening too) I think it may have had something to do with the narrator?. Both books are fast paced and kept me very connected to the characters.
    Excellent sequel in the series!
What can I say?! I am attaching quite easily to these characters. This book was told beautifully from the points of view of many. There is an excellent surprise in the beginning and the dramatic tension stayed at just the right pitch throughout the novel.
I was happy to hear more from Rebecca and Makadewa! I am eager to see how that plays out. I will miss Teyas, too and hope to find that she is happy.
I was only confused a bit during a part when Maggie was really angry at her guardian for not telling her more information when she was growing up. This didn't make sense to me because she had already learned how she and her family would have been in danger if she knew more information. I read and re-read that part thinking I might have missed something. Maybe I did. But, Maggie's behavior really annoyed me.
I read the first 1/3 or so on my kindle and then did the whispersync with audible. I wish I stuck to reading with my eyes. I have listened to hundreds of books over the years and I can honestly say that this girls narration was the absolute worst! She did Maggie like a whiny 10 year old! Not how I imagined Maggie to sound at all. All of the Indian men sounded identical in a deep monotone, all of the Norse men sounded identical in a deep Scottish-like monotone.
A great example of the poor narration: She would loudly and animatedly cry a line like: "But, I love you" , followed by: "Maggie whispered". It was so distracting!! That was not a whisper! Poor, poor poor.
Anyway, that is not the book's fault and did not want my rating to reflect the awful listening experience. I can't wait for the next one!

    The Guardian's Witch
What made the experience of listening to The Guardian's Witch the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed the smoothness of the narrator and their ability to shift between characters seamlessly.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Guardian's Witch?
There were actually several memorable moments scattered throughout the story, but I can only imagine how Lisbeth felt when she overheard Alex's claim on her, especially since he had not worked up the courage to tell her about their marriage.
Which character as performed by Gemma Dawson was your favorite?
Lizbeth and Alex both were favorite characters of mine. To Ms. Dawsons credit, I felt she did and outstanding job of pulling me into the story with her voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I really don't like to give away too much of the meat of the story as I'm afraid it will spoil the experience for others. There were several moments that Ms. Casie sprinkled throughout the story that I found to be touching and/or very intriguing.
    Any additional comments?
This was the first book I believe I've read/listened to by Ms. Casie. I have downloaded several more and look forward to reading them. She has an excellent style of writing that makes one feel included in the story. I would recommend this book &/or audio book to any of my friends that like to read a good romance story without getting too bogged down in erotic sex scenes. She handled that part of the book perfectly in my opinion. I very much enjoyed it.
    Magical historical romance!
Would you listen to The Guardian's Witch again? Why?
yes. although it was slow starting once it got there I was fully in. I love the paranormal aspects and twists.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lisbeth. She is strong and an independent female character. I cheered her on from the start and understood her complexities and reluctance to trust Alex.
What does Gemma Dawson bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I love her voice. Her pacing was excellent and her accents were very convincing. She brought a sensitivity to Lisbeth that touched me
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Lisbeth finally opened her heart to Alex after years of isolation and tragedy.
    monotone performance ruins it
    Any additional comments?
While the story was quite interesting the narration ruined the enjoyment of it.

    Sons of Anarchy rip-off
So I was really hoping I would enjoy listening to this book more than I actually did. I thought the concept of this story was really interesting and different - a Post-Apocalyptic MC club. Cool! Unfortunately, it just fell flat. There wasn't enough backstory to make me care about the characters and the multiple point-of-views were confusing and very distracting. The story wasn't all that original either. There were so many blatant rip-offs from Sons of Anarchy that I could actually see the scenes from the TV show while I listened.
If you are looking for a good MC series I would suggest a Kristen Ashley or Madeline Sheehan book.
    2.5 stars
    Great Biker Read!
Would you consider the audio edition of Defiance to be better than the print version?
No because I did have a bit of a problem with Bishop's and Matthais accent.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Casper! He was a great character. Very well developed and had depth.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Yes with some of the male voices. They sounded a lot alike.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Silas picked Casper over his family
Great Biker Club Post World book! Loved it!
This was actually really really good. The whole post-chaos world thing was actually really good. The plot line really drove the story along... I enjoyed it. I loved Casper and Tru's relationship. Casper was one hot biker... I so want to be a mc princess now! Casper's character really pull this book along, not that it was bad, not bad at all, but Casper was just so great.... Everything circled around him. I loved how he eventually took over. That was great. Nice HEA!
    Horrible narrator, ok story
Bust. It had potential, but didn't make it. I gave up listening ( awful narrator) and tried to read, but with all the slang, abbreviations and lack of full sentences...it was difficult to follow. Don't waste your time.
    AWFUL!!
    Any additional comments?
Awful...just awful....not sure how any female can enjoy a theme where women live in a world where they are treated like slaves...abused, raped, passed around. One of the worst books I have ever read. Complete waste of my money....couldn't get through it.

This book was okay, but not as good as the other books in the series. I like the two main characters well enough. However, the story line was pretty bland and uneventful. This narrator was okay, but there were a couple of quirks that got on my nerves occasionally. I'll continue to read the series, though (assuming more books come out).
Where I can find a man like Javier?
If you could sum up Falke's Renegade in three words, what would they be?
    Action, romance and sex
What did you like best about this story?
Even though I like all three books. I think the fact that in the end was only one Javier and one Heidi was what I love. The other two books are great but still on the bench of two brothers one girl.
Have you listened to any of Christina Didericksons other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I did love the way she narrated the stories.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laugh and was very surprise of the two boys one girl plot in the serie
    Any additional comments?
The 3 books re great. Just had to get acostum to two boys and a girl plot but everything else is sexy, funny and worth listen too
Very good continuation of the series :D
This was a very good story. I really liked Heidi and was happy to see her story (I have listened to the previous 2 books in the series).
Heidi has 6 shifter brothers but can't shift herself. For shifters (in the world of these books), in order to have kids there has to be 2 male shifters for a human female. Females with shifter blood are pretty much unheard of (Heidi is very, very rare) and the only way she's likely to have kids is to find another shifter male because it's not likely to happen with a human. Since the only shifters she knows of is her family she's not very hopeful on her prospects.
Heidi is a vet and is a kind woman that people tend to like. She gets a call from a hunter that shot something he shouldn't have. What she finds is a shifter that's been shot, a jaguar shifter. She is very interested in getting to know the new shifter and finds herself drawn to him.
Javier had a twin brother and a mate that were both killed years before. He has been chasing the killer for 2 years on a mission of revenge. While chasing the enemy he's shot by a hunter and helped by Heidi. He doesn't trust her at first but has to in the end.

    Soul Magic
The story is very good and keep you reading. The only
problem for me was the magic played "against" Christian believe.Younger insecure christians can be influence. I do not believe it was the writer' s idea.
    SOUL MAGIC
Continuing the tales of the Fae world begun in SHADOW MAGIC and POWERFUL MAGIC, Karen Whiddon creates true enchantment with SOUL MAGIC. When her son is kidnapped, Alanna of Rune joins forces with Darrik of Thorncliff to fight the black magic of traitorous Gorsedd and Darrik's evil uncle, Morfran Mortimer. Darrik learns his mother is being tortured by Morfran. How they accomplish this makes for an intriguing tale with surprises and twists along the way. A great read!
