Exciting, mostly..
I love dragon books, especially when theres another story after this one. So, I look forward to reading/listening to Tys story after finishing this one about Marcus, and Aphrodites granddaughter Gwen, and Ares the brothers father. I wont be going further than Tys story because the 3rd one only has 80 pages and thats really not worth bothering with. IMO. I mean, this book had 250 pages. Tys story has 240 pages, but Zavier only has 80?
And, of course, the evil brother Garrick who killed Gwens parents 14 years earlier. Now on the run she ends up neighbors with the dragons and they are tasked with protecting Gwen and the Goddess Nyxs daughter Elle, Gwens BFF. Needless to say, Gwen is the mate to Marcus and they are a wonderful twosome. Absolutely no angst between them, which I loved.
Overall, it really was a good book: Dragons, Gods, Goddesses, Nymphs, and a Cyclops or two? What more do you want.
There was explicit sex in this AND the word pu**y, which I find disgusting and such a dirty word, was used. I know a lot of you just love that word but not me. However, since it was only used 3 times I will go ahead and read Tys story, and hope it's not used more than that, but I will not be reading more from this author. Sorry!
There was swearing and the F-bomb was used 25 times.
As to the narrator: Michael Ferraiuolo is a good reader. He laughed out loud when it was called for, and growled when the dragons did that, too. The women sounded like women and Marcuss voice was sooo sexy it was unbelievable.
Great Book
I received this book for and honest review and to be honest I wasn't really sure if I was going to like it. The reason is because I've never read a book with dragon shapeshifters but I went in with an open mind and I'm glad I did. I will definitely be reading more of these books in the future. If you like Paranormal then this is a must read bc I think you will really enjoy it.
Where's the excitement and the steam?
What disappointed you about War's Passion?
The love scenes and the action scenes were short and emotionless.
Would you recommend War's Passion to your friends? Why or why not?
No.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
There is no emotion or excitement, he's got a great voice. I'm sure he's a good narrator... just not for this.
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It would be a good story... with a big infusion of excitement and steam, lengthier action and love scenes, and a different narrator.
Any additional comments?
This series had some great potential, but it turned out to be a big disappointment to me.
Solid series start!
A solid start to a new series!
War's Passion introduces us to the sons of Ares--dragon shifters and the only surviving warriors "born" when the teeth of Ares' slain dragon were sown in the ground. The brothers live together in a castle on top of a hill on the coast of Maine...
(I know. She had me at "coast of Maine". Throw dragons into the mix and I'm a goner.)
One of the brothers has gone astray, however--Gerrick is creating an army of demigods and plans to wage war on Olympus. Obviously, Markus and his other brothers can't let that happen.
